Too bad you didn't mention Monkey wrench! It's completely self funded and a new ep just came out, the writing is amazing and the animation is beautiful! They have no money for the next ep so they need all the support they can get!
And also in my opinion ace of hearts is original and interesting if u are more interested in sci-fi they posted about 4 episodes already its really good the lore is very interesting
Really happy to see Atlas and The Stars getting more recognition!! It's always been one of the most visually pretty and heavily underrated indie animated series on RU-vid in my opinion
As time passes I cant wait to see what new ideas and shows will continue to be released on youtube. Its unfortunate many great shows were cancelled that had so much potential.
Hijacking-THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH 4 MAKING THIS LIST. It's hard 2 keep track of what the new shows are. especially as Im distracted by the Palestinian g3n0c1de
I am very much looking forward to Godspeed. Olan Rogers took many of the good ideas they had from Final Space and implemented them in a show that already looks to be far higher in quality.
Thank you so much for the shout out! That really means so much to me. Amazing to see so much talent out there and I can't wait to see more! Happy New Year! 🎉
Thank you so much for creating such a nostalgic experience for me, it reminded me of how so many people used to just make their own sort of indie anime back in hte days, and yours feels like it pays tribute to these classic indie projects most people never even saw, while bringing in the new age. Really looking forward to more episodes!
I absolutely love atlas and the stars. The creator, mirananimations, SOLO ANIMATED a 30 minute episode it's insane, everyone should totally go check it out!! 💗
I’m so glad that The Earth Guy is finally getting more attention. The premise has me hooked & I absolutely fell in love with the world, the characters, pretty much everything the moment I saw the pilot. Besides that, I'm really excited for these other projects and can't wait to see where they all go!
I’m really excited for more “Helluva Boss,” “Hazbin Hotel,” “Murder Drones,” “The Amazing Digital Circus,” and “Lackadaisy.”🤩😊💖💖💖 I hadn’t even heard of “Atlas” but the concept is really cool.😎 I enjoyed the pilot of “Magical Girl Garnet Heart,” so curious to see what happens next.😉❤️
My favorite Indie Animation Shows are Hazbin Hotel, Helluva Boss, Lackadaisy, and The Amazing Digital Circus! I love these 4 Shows and I can't wait to see what 2024 has in store for them, also I can't believe Atlas and the Stars is a thing now too. Murder Drones is pretty cool too, i just didn't watch it because I was a little distracted watching a lot of Helluva Boss lately.🤩😅
I'm looking forward to watch *Garnet Heart, Atlas and the Stars, The Earth Guy, In Limbo, God Speed, Broken Beat and Far Fetched* next year in 2024! Can't wait to watch them all! Happy (almost) New Year everyone! 😁😄👌👍🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊
Hugo's mind palace, any chance it is inspired by Duncan Trussell and Pendleton Ward's "the midnight gospel" because it gave me the same vibes from the art style to the dimension hopping.
I’m so happy that indie animation is getting more of a spotlight in the recent years! As someone making an indie animated series myself, the passion and effort put into these projects is so much and it means the world that lots of people want to see more 💫
I loved all the pilots and I'm totally going to check out more! So thanks for this video. I would love it if you make videos about "God's School" in the future. And I'm really happy to see so many people who create such amazing content and choose to share it with all of us!
This channel truly cares about indie animators. I’m glad to see there are no ‘Drama Explained’ videos. Channels that do that are part of the problem. I can’t believe people have time in their day to give grief to indie creators and their supporters.
Hugo's mind palace reminds me of tomska, and atmos' character design reminds me of the elf alien from the "starlight brigade" song. Which is great! Cause that song definitely deserves an anime or at least a tribute
Ramshackle is worth cheking out. There are some teasers for the pilot and a couple of short animations. Its about chaotic misadventures of three orphans set in the 1920. It has a beautiful artstyle
I cant wait for more Godspeed. Final SPace was so good and this series could reach that same level of character development and the amount of heartbreaking moments
Godspeed is just so unbelivably stunning that its hard to belive its indy. My only problem is that the world that its set in is so bleack and sad that i cant see any chance of happy ending. I know that not having a nice ending in sight is probably a good thing for this type of story, but i just know my heart is going to get broken Edit: i also wanted to shoutout Ramshakle, i came across it through the glich live event and i cant wait for the pilot, it should be out somewhen at 2024
YESSS ATLAS AND THE STARS! No other show other than Steven Universe has captivated me as much as Atlas And The Stars, im immensely hyperfixated on it, especially one of the characters, I HIGHLY recommend it!
Godspeed is basically the sequel of Final Space, which is technically not indie animation, but had a rough treatment by streaming platforms nevertheless, so I'm not surprised about Godspeed going down the indie route. Final Space is also pretty underrated, I really recommend it!
I legit could do a giant video breaking down the various inspirations of their lore in that first episode, I love that kind of banger mythological opening.
@@CartoonUniverse that would be SO awesome to see. The work that Creative Theory World has done is thorough and fantastic. I know they would love to see that video be made. You're the best! 🥺👏
9:48 YEEEESSSS!! Omg I was really hoping you'd mention this one! I watched it around a week ago and by the end of the episode I was just...mindblown. Literally mindblown. I *seriously* hope this series continues because holy jesus the story is so interesting. Not to mention the *gorgeous* animation!
To me, Hazbin Hotel is to indie animation, to what FNAF was to indie gaming. Indie games was a genre that was overlooked in the 2000s and the early 2010s. Then, Five Nights at Freddy’s became a global phenomenon of a franchise. It became a trailblazer, a pioneer that set the bar for indie games. Many studios followed suit, and we got memorable hits like Undertale and Cuphead. In many aspects, Hazbin Hotel is a trualbalser for indie animation, as well as The Amazing Digital circus. Both blew open the flood gates. An alternative to big gaining and animation studios, that offer “outside the box” entertainment, and boundless creativity, due to less restrictions that most streaming platforms and big animation companies/studios would otherwise force.
I’d like to throw “Madtown” out there. It’s an on a budget indie project, but the story and characters are amusing. Basically a guy, Marc, makes a deal with the Grim Reaper to help get a girl and shenanigans ensue.
Broats is an indie animated shorts series that’s been running non-stop since May 2023. It’s a small project with one artist handling all the writing, design and animation, but featuring voice talent like Adam McArthur and Jessica DiCicco. It’s a scrappy little project with zero budget or fanfare, but has been chugging along with lots of content over a long haul. Taking a short break at the top of this year to prep new material, but returning with new shorts in 01/26/24. Would really appreciate support from lovers of indie animation.
Here to plug in one of my favourite series, Alien Stage, it's not your traditional show. Every episode is a music video but even then you can still figure it out. Also there are queer characters so yyayyyy!!!!!!!! :3
Hm, this was very interesting, i hope all of these does well enough. By the way, Gods School seems interesting, i would like to see you talk about it. Also, do you know of UnderVerse?
