The poster is a great point. You can slap an amazing poster on a garbage film and people will still sell, but a great poster on a great film will make it memorable.

I love J cause he’s so sweet and positive. I think In 2023 he should start saying “ no matter what don’t make a shitty movie”. Cause man these movies suck. Film projector effects, amateur scripts. I say invest in your life’s work, don’t over saturate platforms with trash. Amazon was awesome, tubi gonna get F’ed too if all these lame indies keep being uploaded. Really make sure it’s good and something your seriously proud of. The music industry is extremely F’ed cause of over saturation. Gotta defend indie film making.

What film productions was being shown in the beginning and in the 45 sec mark, were those you films being shot?

no. that's just a stock shot. Some of the red colored ones were from craving. but that dolly is stock.

What's the point of having a great poster if Tubi won't show it when people look in the Comedy section, where it's suppose to be? Not to mention Mometu, who are just starting out, to boot.

Ranking in search initially is tough, especially for very small indies with no star talent. You have to drive enough traffic to your film initially and platform like Tubi will rank your movie higher. But the way the alogyrthms work there, just like youtube, the user interfaces are invidualized. They show you more stuff that they think you're likely to watch, regardless of where your rank it search. This is how most smaller indies are discovered. IF you have a super low budget comedy, and someone is watching a bunch of super low budget comedies they'll show them your movie on their comedy wall. If your poster doesn't grab that watcher, you're sunk.

Different folk. I have a couple of different artists I use depending on the type of movie. I sometimes make them myself. I also really like 99 designs I’ve got some great posters done there

What is the best keyword tool to use for researching keywords and phrases? Can you do a video on this? Also can you speak to importance of titling your movie using most used keywords and keyword phrases?

There are a ton of great videos on youtube about that. Just search keywords or targeting keywords. IT applies across platforms. But it's also different for every movie and topic. You just have to figure out the basics and then apply that to your thing. I don't think it's crucial to worry about it for the title. I've found unique titles to be better than common words or phrases. though with documentaries I often do throw some in.

@@JHorton Most of the keyword search tools that show specific numbers of search term returns are paid subscriptions, even though they say 'free' in their promos, and many of them can get pretty pricey. The videos I've found on it tend to be affiliate-based so it's tough to get an objective view.

@@markcurran4473 i wouldn't mess around with tools or apps. YOu figure out the basics and apply. Annie Dube does a good video on it. Nick Nimmin. Cathrine Manning. THink Media. are some others.

there's a facebook group about self publishing called 50 to 50k they talk about this a lot. That's actually where I first learned the methodology.
