The plethora of patterns with "peplums" starting under the bust or ruffles all over your chest still baffles the heck out of me. Who looks good in those things?
Maybe my love of puffy tops is blinding me to the reality that they aren't flattering.... but even as a plus-size rectangle, I'll wear every one of them!
Thanks for taking the time to do this but I haven’t taken to any of these patterns. I absolutely LOVE sewing and I’m not so adventurous when it comes to either creating my own or adapting patterns, which means that I am relying on pattern designers to be inventive and even look at current trends to release patterns that will enable us sewists to remain en trend - I find that this is not happening enough.
Waaaay cute, fresh, quick and easy skirt/pants/top sets! All the puffy ruffly blouses need to get into my shopping cart RIGHT NAOW. Either my love of voluminous tops is blinding me to the possibility that these are not flattering to my body type or else they are working some kind of unexpected magic to somehow look good on plus-size rectangular people. I don't know which it is, and I don't care because how cute would that top with the bustier detail be WITH CONTRAST PIPING to highlight that detail. Gurl! You've convinced me that I need to try some balloon pants, Lindsey. I thought they were silly but now I'm on a mission to make me some. I thought the ones in this video looked really cool. Thanks for helping me to see that I actually need more patterns, not less!
