Woww this is my first time seeing the aboriginal dance, really unique it looks like art. I loved the instruments they used it sounded really nice i love how they didnt have to use their voices it was something special. that blonde lady in the front was really good!
Amazing. So proud to be Australian and even prouder of our indigenous brothers and sisters. We need to honour, respect and celebrate our indigenous heritage much much more. This is a start.
man just imagine being lost at sea a few centuries ago and ending up at new zealand and being greeted with a maori haka... i'd be shaking in my boots...
Apparently, the first time the British Navy attempted to land on New Zealand shores they were met by Maori doing a haka on the shores. Something you don’t see very often in these modern hakas, is they were performed wearing little, carrying weapons and the slapping of their bodies you see now, then were done hard enough to be heard and turn their skin read. The sight of this war dance, by the British, scared them and forced them to turn tail and not even make it to shore.
The difference between the dances is so interesting to see. The Haka is an outright challenge. It's almost a dare, no theatrics, while the unity dance is more about the strategy of the chase, the process of intimidating an opponent through anticipation. They're both very different approaches that have their own power and beauty. It was absolutely brilliant to see them portrayed so well
@@cplcabs perhaps “someONE” not a whole tribe in unison. Māori women haka doesn’t have to be aggressive like the mens haka. It’s delicate and beautiful and at the same time matches the mens fluidity some how. It’s hard to explain. You sound like you wouldn’t understand anyway.
@@notimportant8120 I am talking about the haka in general, It is supposed to be a war dance, but if the enemy started doing that in front of me, I would just laugh. Maybe that is the tactic.
..bought some tears to see, two warrior indigenous cultures that have always had so much respect for one another, showing that respect in their ceremony. Wonderful stuff!
Isnt you packing in cultural identity a personal choice. Even if you are just american. Your ancestors came from Europe. There is so much pride in what you are. Appreciate the haka sure. But never think it's better then your own cultural. Its simply different and amazing in it's own way.
I am from London, England and this happens to be some of the most stunningly beautiful artistry I've EVER seen, and pausing it at 5:26 made the chills down my spine even colder, will now check my bloodline to see if I have any New Zealand in my ancestors......
You're a victim of MIND CONTROL. Much like BEATLE MANIA where young girls were PAID TO SCREAM AND SHRIEK, so that after that INITIAL CONCERT the standard was set for the EXPECTED RESPONSE and right on cue, everytime it appears the NZ and ANYONE ELSE who has this response, DOES SO, because it's EXPECTED and then you pretend to be connected to that culture and wish you had a culture other than your own. It's called THE EXOTIC OTHER PROGRAMMING MK ULTRA designed to TEAR DOWN WESTERN CIVILZATION as the BOLSHEVIKS did in Russia. Make you HATE your own culture and history and self loathe. Make you LOVE AND WORSHIP another culture, SUBTLELY through WORSHIP of THOSE cultures in books, tv and movies, at the SAME TIME AS MASSIVE HATEFUL CRITICISM of your culture. DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT HAS BEEN DONE TO YOU?
It's always uplifting and interesting to think about how ancient instruments are the same all over the world and how them and music can unite us all as one people♡
The only bad thing about this is that there wasn't thousands of people packed in the stands to witness it! This is incredible! I am glad to see it has been viewed nearly 4 million times (as of March 2021) and that the world has been able to view and appreciate this! Absolutely stunning and emotionally moving! The respect between teams at the end was incredible.
Those Mauri women are like, "I'll rip out your beating heart and eat it before your last breath," and the other team is like, "may a thousand spiders crawl up your snatches and lay eggs that will hatch and eat your living guts before you even know what happened to you!" Scares me!
The Crow well no that’s actually quite interesting to see these comments saying these hakas are scary, because the literal purpose in the past, to intimidate their rivals with their vicious screams and stomps, these are supposed to either unsettle their uponents or have a companion feel to it
Bring this sportsmanship to the rest of the world! Such amazing women. This is sport! Culture is beautiful and we should be impressed and in awe of it.
I love how the indigenous women in each of the other team watching would truly truly understand and respect this more than anyone. Both cultures are so steep in history and have such a close relationship with dance and battle and being warriors

Amazing. Love Australian war cry. And my Nz Maori women. Soo much mana, strength and their performance as well. How can you not be touched by both performances. Two powerful cultures. Rich in their culture.
not sure why but my eyes welled up with tears watching and listening to the all stars women unity dance, It just went right down into my soul. And of course the maori ferns haka very powerful aswell, I feel the warrior spirit
It's great to be able to practice your culture everywhere and the whole team. In the States we have to be diverse and not push cultures on other players that don't share the same culture.
I noticed that ALL New Zealanders do the Hakka. It’s beautiful, powerful, and seems a mark of pride for all. It gives me chills to watch and listen to it being performed. The lines between races and cultures becomes blurred leaving only one tribe, one heart, and just one race, human.
Used too If you can't respect they're culture and they're past time then idk A lot of groups of people used to practice cannibalism. What's important is that they don't do it now
Did you comment just to start an argument Mr. Diaz? MY fucking logic😂 all I did was comment on the the beautiful dance YOU brought up some arbitrary bullshit about cannibalism. Don’t start nothing won’t be nothing. Besides I think you know you would have been lunch......
@@robertoh.20 the Maori only ate the flesh of their enemies to insult them. They believed the greatest insult you can give someone is to kill them, eat them and to crap them out
Wow Spiritual And Goose Bumps Hearing The Women Traditional Haka & The Australian Womens Spiritual Haka Yikes!!! So Love Seeing Cultures Coming Together💝💝
I love this culture. I think it’s so deep, powerful and beautiful. The message is portrayed through the movements and facial expressions. I cry every time.
So. I don't know who is more bad ass. Team A: intimidating, powerful show of strength Team B: dances and crawls on field. Not showing fear of the enemy. Both were awesome to watch.
@@aidanluap1066 no, it's extinct now. It was completely destroyed by Maories only because of their peaceful way of life (Moriories, like hippies, could'nt accept any violence, even in order to survive. Even beating somebody a stick was strictly tabooed). Maori tribe was growing fastly and needed more resourses, so they easily conquered Chatham island
@@user-ml6hy3om6p wow they are not extinct. What a fucking horrible thing to say. They were not neighbors of Maori, they ARE an iwi of Maori and trace their roots back to Kupe just the same as all iwi do. They just happened to live on a separate island and their presences hijacked by the British who wanted a reason for people to hate all Maori by lying and saying their bloodline died off because of another iwi. Which has been proven a lie and received an official apology by the NZ government. Please update your old books.
They all would of had Aboriginal ancestry which is why they are able to play in the team. I love how they embrace their indigenous culture💞 I'm Maori Niuean and I think all indigenous people & cultures are strong & beautiful 💚💛
It is an amazing chant, and very powerful performance from both sides. From the first time I hear it i couldn't stop watching it again and again... big respect to you and I hope this wonderful culture will remain for ages ahead
Love that they have kept the culture! You see how proud they are. The Haka always makes me feel something special. It wakes up your spirit! Gives me goosebumps every time!
The first one is very vocal and performative. But my favourite is the second one. No screaming and over the top facial expressions. Just pure energy. Love it ❤️
Как мне нравится смотреть на выступления людей разных культур, со всех концов планеты! Мы все такие разные, но в этом и самое главное и интересное. Как известно, мы все дети Божьи, он всех нас любит!
Beautiful by both teams. I love how after the ceremony both sides hug & kiss each other . Show of Respect is wonderful between these two countries. This stadium is Beautiful too.❤️🇳🇿🇦🇺
@MUFC does it look like we care bro 😂. Soccer has alot of little girl's that can't handle getting tripped over that's what they have more of 😂 in all those 240countrys your saying. Even tho there's like 193 countries in the world 😂
First team: "Gonna beat you to death and eat your progeny." 2nd team: "My very costume is woven from the terror of your menfolk." Commentators: "Nice to see the Unity dance between these lovely lady players."
After all that bravado the interactions between them are so beautiful. So much strength, history, cultures and solidarity in one video I feel privileged to have watched from afar
OceanBlue no but I was just curious cuz the Māori women r able to do the haka and the aboriginals also. Idk y u say that women cannot? Women and men have performing haka for a long time.
OceanBlue I was just curious lol 🤷🏼♀️ I just wanted to know ur reason that all. (If u do have the reason then tell me) Have a good day sweetheart! hope u have a wonderful day😊
So Admittedly I dont understand the language in the haka but the second they began I literally got goosebumps from my head to my toes that was incredible!!!
At least once a month I need a Haka to start my day. As a middle aged American I appreciate the history. I love the appreciation of cultural respect between sides before going to Rugby battle. This was incredible.
if you are First Nation blooded and educated there is understanding. the energy/spirit created from most cultural ritual can decipher, transcend and transform.
I am fearful just watching this, my humble administration and respect for green and white uniforms!!!! My skin is shivering just listening to the ladies!!!
@@danilotte2 I know that the statistics in these forms are great (high) in numbers and can be seen to be a place where raising children can become tough/tricky but this person was merely stating that he wanted to visit the country. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course. But i would recommend to anyone that visiting new Zealand would be an excellent adventure. Even in the north islands (more cities) it's still beautiful as well as the south island which is breathtaking. I know we're generally in the top 3 countries in cyberbullying/bullying and high youth suicide but it's unfortunately something that must be focused on by citizens as well as the government (organizations for the highest causes of the suicide rate). But i would never deter someone from coming to New Zealand, to see/experience the culture first hand and to have this experience with the good the country has to offer.
Seriously, I think if they would put some effort into it, you could melt them into one. You would of course need to pick the best from both cultures and forget the lesser parts. Also in order to not have it self destruct(to agessive) or self extinguish(to passive) it needs to encorporate the right amount of spirit of superiority and expansionistic ideas need to be central in order to become a majority that replaces or absorbs all other cultures
I've seen so many Maori performances probably more then I've ever seen Aboriginal unfortunately, and I'm born and live in Australia I've even been fortunate enough to do Maori performances and I'm actually of Tongan heritage but this stealth performance by the indigenous Australians hit different, that was beautiful both performances but being Australian and watching the Indigenous Australians amazing war dance brought tears to my eyes that was deadly ❤️
I love watching and listening to all the different Haka performances. Especially the once performed in halls and the likes for that boom when they stamp and slap etc. So intense and amazing.
BEAUTIFUL. I love the pride they have within and that of their ancestors and their culture. Passed down from generation to generation. Never stop loving your history, your ancestors, your traditions and most importantly, yourself❤️
Every time I see The Haka preformed I get so emotionally overwhelmed by just the idea of the thought of something so mesmerizing and even more so beautiful seeing the unity dance 😯 THE UPMOST RESPECTS TO ALL WHO COMPETED IN THIS VIDEO!
