The Haku sendoff brings as many tears to my eyes as the playing of Taps for a US military funeral. Mstrdiver - US Army - 1973 to 1995 Beannaich Dia na h-Albannaich anns a ’Ghàidhlig! ~~ Seas gu cinnteach
NZ Military Forces might be small, but they carry themselves with the dignity, passion and integrity of soldiers long gone. The sight of a Lemon Squeezer still brings a tear to my eye.
Never single occasion that these send offs don’t make me sob. As a British veteran from a long line of veterans, I believe that all fallen warrior should be sung to their grave. It’s what cultures have always done and it’s good to see it still carried out in some places. I don’t know you, but I know of you by the the respect of your brothers. Take your rightful place in the hall of the fallen. I’ll meet you there.
My god....!! That extracted tears of respect from me. I really really felt that inside my soul. What a great way to send a warrior on his way. Big respect, from a humble UK Veteran.
I just wish I could express how beautiful and moving I found this. It reaches deep inside you and just touches your heart. The love and respect they all showed for their brother in arms. Beautiful. Just absolutely beautiful. Now.. I need to go get a Kleenex. 😭🤧
Buckey I don't know you personally, much respect & love to you & your whanau, for your duty as soilder & protecting our country, Nga mihi nui i te Toa O Tumutaenga
The march the pallbearers did was exactly the same as the bearers who carried Queen Elizabeth II. It's nice to know our soldiers get that respect too. Aroha ❤
Very impressive, much respect to the deceased, our warrior brothers Pakeha and all do us proud , a small nation Aoetearoa NZ full of warriors to this day.
:They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, We will remember them We will remember them.
This is a strong send off for a brother in arms. It is incredible. I will be sending off my brother this week from a illness. Best wishes to the family of the fallen.
Oh, how I wish that when my brother U.S. Marines were down there during WWII they had adopted this amazing, and intense way of sending our warriors HOME! It would have been such an amazing and heart building thing for us young Recruits at San Diego or Paris Island to learn these chants, and what they meant for the journey a fallen warrior needed to hear! Sometimes people have this idea that "primitive people" don't know how to show faith, and devotion to the God that lives and breathes, and works to make them human...but I have found that this is not true. People know how to worship GOD, in His 1,000 different faces, and in 10,000 different ways of faith. By the way....God bless you all. Reverend M.A. Lauer.
Those are Myths my mate. All will be judged in the end and we are without excuse best believe that. There’s only one of two places my mate and that so called place “Valhalla” ain’t one of them💯
I really wish the Haka tradition would spread around the world. Or maybe I was just born in the wrong country. Such a beautiful expression of raw and genuine Humanity.
My heartfelt sorrow goes out to this family a hero a friend a son husband his achievements are awesome tour across winter that's a sim equivalent to a medal of Honor from the US I read yours I read your story your achievements to get that metal sacrifice people don't understand what that means left and right of you when you're in a uniform Your buddies left and right front of you and behind you You become a family He will sacrifice yourself to save your family I've seen a lot of my friends go and I tell people You don't have a clue anything of anything about the military You think you do but you don't cuz you don't know what camaraderie is You don't know what loyalty is The power of each of us take to be who we are in the military to follow what we do to protect our loved ones from enemies around the world Right now there's a lot of stupid people trying to take or start things and escalate things they don't see it because they didn't fight they stayed in their little hots little houses never never volunteering to go out and fight for someone or something but now they want to do it they think the world is weak and that they're the only ones who could fix it You have a Chinese gentleman I think that honestly think he thinks he owns the world Harley's half of the Pacific that no one is supposed to tell him what to do and then on the other end the other side of the world we have a crazy rushing guy that thinks he could tell everybody in your what he's going to do and no one's going to stop him oh yeah grown men proving from Ukraine and other places the world that are helping them telling Russia to go take a flying leap office off a cliff and then the US is trying to shore up the Pacific to give more people help and China and Russia I think are telling that trying to tell us to back off those guys are bullies and you got a crazy Korean is going to pop off I think he's going to start all this seriously I do but this gentleman right here gave the ultimates sacrifice saving some friends in danger in combat He didn't worry about the dangers He did his job saving other people and gave his life for that so to you sir from one sergeant to another isolate you sir In the Marine corps there's a saying semper fidelis means always faithful and your brother is an arms will remember you in the sacrifice you did to save others Tell your family My prayers go out to you all you'll have good days and bad days for remember he's always here in your chest he's in your heart and your brain You're always remember him always remember that good things he did for people or did for you or made you happy made you laugh But celebrate his life He would want you to be happy remember the good things about him not the bad things it's probably doesn't have any bad things it's hard to lose someone someone you're so dick too I have a lot of many friends I tell the parents the same thing remember the best things about him The things that make you happy remember the things that made him happy and cherish those memories So my prayers go out to you all for your loss Sergeant Johnson and he says Marine corps 1982 to '91 I sell you.

Love prayers to all from Truro Cornwall UK
That shit is sooooo wicked!! I would honestly run away if I would encounter someone doing that ready to fight me. I would be like nope amigo not today adios!!
A very moving tribute. However, I noticed that the female soldier on the left side of the screen, whilst the Haka was being performed, was not bending knees and remained standing for most of the ceremony. Is there a reason for this.
You'll notice that all women in this haka are standing in parts, they have different protocols than men when it comes to haka, they also do not pūkana with the protruding tongue, they frown the mouth and widen and roll the eyes. Kia ora
A military designation for a soldier that shoots from a big gun or cannon. I was a Bombardier in Anti-Aircraft which is similar to an Infantry Corporal.
