PM Rao should deserve more appreciation. He is largely ignored when talking about the 1991 economic reforms by the media.

This gentleman is highly charitable to Indira and Manmohan. Indira strangulated the economy with license-permit,bank nationalisation and FERA.She didn’t allow new production even while people waited for ten years for two wheeler,telephone,cooking gas etc and cement was available only in black. Banks didn’t lend to common people for home,vehicles,consumer goods,small businesses etc. Income tax marginal rate was 97%.From 1971 Manmohan was Chief Economic Adviser,Finance Secretary,RBI HEAD and Planning Commission Head. License permit related policy is handled by Industry Minister and not Finance Minister. Rao was handling Industry portfolio also. Rao did it but Manmohan got the credit while he was the main architect of such socialist,evil policies in the seventies and eighties.

While giving credit to Manmohan Singh, Congress conveniently forgets PV Narsimha Rao, who took the tough decisions at the risk of loosing his PM ship and shown the spine to implement those reforms. None of the previous PMs had shown the spine for the same.
@Ghvhh9876
Nationalization of banks was a big achievement of Indira Gandhi

Lighting a cigarette for a last standing beside you was what a man did for a woman in western cultures. Laughing with a western independent woman of international stature doesn't mean anything more than a relationship of mutual appreciation

Narasimha Rao is Really a Bharat Ratna. Today's India is Rao's India.

Pm Narsimha Rao ji is one of the best PM's India has had...it is unfortunate this hero of India does not get his due credit. The nehru dynasty has been a true curse to modern India.

Would love to see Ranveer have the cojones to talk about Narendra Modi and Georgia Meloni in the same light that he just referred to Jawaharlal Nehru and Lady Mountbatten.

As a Sri Lankan, I applaud the decision of not opening the economy to West too early. We did in 77 and see the plight.
