LOL, Loved the commentary Ray. Hilarious although the circumstances probably weren't so funny. Preparing to get up that boat ramp reminded me of jets preparing to take off from aircraft carriers! Good that you've met up with the German bloke. Looks/sounds a bit different! - but in a good way, I think? You'll be very pleased to get on Malaysian soil I'm sure.

Hey Razer, looks like you are making great progress. Had some thoughts from my time riding in Cambodia, Loas & Vietnam which may be helpful. Basic road rules are to give way to anything in front of you. If you hit anything it's your fault, especially because you're the westerner. We used to have families all on one bike pull out in front of us without even looking, meaning I had to take evasive action to not hit them. I struggled with the logic behind these rules for many months and it took me ages to accept. Also, anything coming in the opposite direction eg trucks or cars have right of way even when they are in your lane. Many a time I've had to exit the road to stay safe. The more you can accept the local ways of doing things the easier it is on your mental health - at least that's my experience. Hope my thoughts may be helpful. Travel safe my friend. G
