It's complicated. In some ways under, some over. People are nice, speak fluent English, infrastructure good, food great. But a lot of places are very sleepy... you can't get a beer unless you find a Chinese restaurant. Quite backward compared to Thailand, for example.
@@Yasin_AffandiJust a feeling of sleepiness, lack of development, no interest in development/entrepreneurship. You can go to a restaurant and sit there with nobody moving. I did it many times - just give up and walk away.
As Malaysian i prefer my country being underrated... It's not a bad or negative things... Being underrated is easy to maintain, easy to preserve nature, not over crowded & populated, low stressful, and it's let my country become the hidden gem and being surprised for the foreigner to experiance, explore, learn and taste.
As a Malaysian, i want my country to be always Underrated. Because we are looking for high value tourist now and those tourist who appreciate calm, peaceful and understand different cultures and faith. We also appreciate tourist with family especially children. We also appreciate tourist who want to make Malaysia as their second home. and most importantly, we really really appreciate tourist and guests who are well behave, law abiding, open minded, positive mindset and not loud. If you want crazy nightlife with booze , free sex in one night stand with easy party girls or perhaps you prefer lawless, chaotic and unorganized place in South East Asia, you should choose Thailand,Indonesia, Philiphines, Vietnam or Cambodia, NOT Malaysia.
I guess people are usually just being polite and responding positively when they are asked about the places they have visited. Even while I'm sure there are different opinions everywhere, people generally attempt to be considerate in order to avoid offending locals who could see their comments. They can have a negative perception of the place unless it is really terrible or they had a terrible experience there. However, compared to Bangkok or Singapore, I think Malaysia-and Kuala Lumpur in particular-is underrated.
As a Malaysian, after watching your video, I conclude that our Ministry Of Tourism has failed it's responsibility, the fact that so many have not heard much about Malaysia and what you said at the end, where you've never heard anything about Malaysia in Canada, until you got here
Dude, in 2023, Malaysia is the 14th most visited Countries out of 35 most visited countries in the World by Insider Monkey and in the same year, Malaysia was ranked number 1 as the most visited countries in South East Asia ,putting Thailand in number 2 by Panorama Travelling. TO be fair with our MOTOUR and Tourism Malaysia, they have been 'planting' the seeds for the last 20 years. Now we just reap what we sow before. also currently, Malaysia is focusing on attracting more high value tourists and visitors. Not just some random people and back packers, so our visitors and tourist are from niche market.
What a wonderful video. Good feedback on KL, Malaysia from the lovely tourists. Good to see more tourists from the Latin America and Europe visiting Malaysia.
Seeing is believing, Malaysian's are very hospitable lot/people, we been living together with mixed races, malays, indian, Chinese, others etc. peacefully, we have no problems even with inter marriage. Come and expl0re this beautiful country, West and East of Malaysia 🤗
KL is quieter and charmer than Vietnam cities as the drivers in Vietnam use honks as a way to communicate with the other drivers.😄 Quality interviews, nice vlog !❤
Watched plenty of your vids from PI.....just curious on the food and drink compared to the Philippines. Can you drink the water, ice cubes in your drinks, street food, fruit and veggies?
I feel so envy especially the people coming from europe , singapore and US, if im the citizen from those countries, i would live a luxury life in malaysia, big house, big cars.. 😂
Alahai bila buat tourism bukan korang support pun kau cakap membazir kan duit je... tu yg di melaka buat tourism bukan main ramai yg pertikai kan sebab mereka guna artis china untuk tahun melawat melaka... orang malaysia sendiri pun pi support negara² tertangga jadi tiada masalah kan...
i once visited malaysia few yrs back .airport personnel ,including ticket counter staff were pouting and didnt see anybody smile. Indonesia and Malaysia are two countries i will never live ,except for Bali ,as I love their culture !
You have the right to your feelings However, I wouldn't write off an entire country and possibilities based on a handful of people working at immigration.
@@Livingabroadalexsometimes you will get rare cases like this, overall Malaysians are very hospitable people, please come again, visit us, only then you can have another judgement 😍
Myself and friends moved out of Kuala Lumpur early 2000s as too many third world migrants crowded the city and suburbs. A lot of peace had been lost. Should come in the 90s as the city is developing too rapidly.
The Malays in Malaysia are very tolerant of other races. Because of that when the Federation of Malaya gained independence from the British in 1957, the Malay population in the Federation of Malaya was ready to share this country with immigrants from China and India. But with the condition that Malay residents are given some special privileges. And this privilege will remain as long as the Malay population wants it. This does not conflict with human rights. Because it is an agreement between two parties. If the agreement was not fair, the British would not have given independence to Malaya in 1957. So stop saying the Malays are a racist nation. Stop accusing you of experiencing racial discrimination in Malaysia. Your grandparents are very lucky to have been granted permission to live in this blessed land forever.
Sometimes I feel sad to know that Malaysia is not known worldwide, ironically the country next to it Singapore and Thailand are far more famous. We can see how terrible Malaysia government in promoting the tourism, of course corruption issue stun the world, thank you M
I'm sure you don't speak for the entire country. I'm an outsider and your government welcomes me with 3 months without visa. Every single Malaysian I've met, had been welcoming.
