What if I used vinegar and peppermint oil can I still use this boric acid with sugar around the areas I sprayed with vinegar? I sprayed the areas where I see them a lot
That might repel them from an area, but it does not kill the nest, and their scouts will just find food elsewhere in your kitchen/house. They need to be free/encouraged to carry the boric acid back to the nest.
Gonna give it a try. Our ants usually try scouting and do raids in the Spring here in my area of NC. But never hurts to kill the nest early so it may hamper their Spring scouting parties. Are roaches attracted to the sugar? Would the boric work on the roaches? Those damn things are made of Armor. Luckily we don’t have a roach problem except with a few a year (usually now when fall rains start and also the weather starts to get chillier). Thanks for the info, I’ll definitely be giving it a try. (Now where did I put that Boric Acid Powder.... did I put it with my old trusty Borax mule train from Death Valley cleaner? Hmmm
I have heard that roaches can be killed by boric acid. I am not sure if sugar would be the best bait. Maybe bread soaked in boric acid solution??? I was in Charlotte for hurricane Fran. I was also there for a bad ice storm which I think was that same year, never saw so many car accidents as the day I had to drive to the airport!
Around our house I have found that this is the only way to get rid of them in the long term. I last had ants a year ago when I made this video. It's slow but it works.
