Thank you for watching. Great question. With the aquaponics it got me outside much more. Which was nice. The whole thing with it all being a loving ecosystem was fantastic to explore and benefit from. But at the same time with so many moving pieces it required so much more time. The hydroponics system is also great. Far less time outside. Outside of the first setup it can take only a few minutes to check the water and the plants. So once going it has been rather easy to maintain. The change gong of crops is far more involved as things will all need to be cleaned. I have definitely enjoyed both ways of growing. I would love to do aquaponics again.
@@DoingtheDeal I currently have a chop n flip aquaponics system in my basement and have expanded and have microgreens set up, now I’m trying to grow tomatoes and peppers indoors in a spider farmer tent (it’s how I found your content). Doing the first run with soil and when I can afford to upgrade to the hydroponics.
@@stephenflebotte1817 that’s awesome! I did not consider aquaponics in my basement. Would love to know it all works out for you. I really enjoyed it. Happy gardening!
@@DoingtheDeal height is the biggest problem I ran into. I copied the chop and flip from rob bob. I had tilapia in there heating it was not cost effective so they didn’t grow the best being in the low band. Also caused high humidity. I then got channel catfish and threw them in my pond as they got bigger . It worked great until we brought in some plants from the store and didn’t quarantine them. So aphids and fungal gnats went crazy, took it all out dried it out and now going for another run. Strawberries and basil
