Philippa Vine presents energy-efficient methods of cooking when using the ESSE 1000 X electric range cooker. In this video, Philippa prepares a bread sauce to accompany roast chicken and griddles broccoli to serve as a fresh crisp side dish both prepared using the induction cooking zones on the ESSE.
The ESSE 1000 X electric range cooker has a three-zone induction hob with touch-top controls that provide instant efficient heat. When you need nourishment in a hurry, the induction zone brings a pan to a boil almost instantly. The '1000' cookers are powered through 2 x 13 amp supplies. One is dedicated to the induction hob, which is the most efficient hob technology currently available. The electricity is managed to directly heat the pan, not the surface on which the pan rests. The level of control is immediate both going up and down the temperature scale. You can boil a kettle, boil and steam vegetables, cook rice and pasta, fry, and anything else you would like on a hob. In terms of energy-efficient cooking using the induction hob has it covered. Induction hobs are far more efficient than gas hobs as they use all the heat that is generated. This means there is no wasted heat. Gas hobs are less efficient because so much of the heat generated is lost around the sides of the pans. When using a cast iron skillet, the combination of even heat control from an induction cooktop and the cast iron's ability to retain heat is an additional good way to prepare dishes using less energy.
