What annoys me the most is that nowadays every brand uses proprietary lenses, and since i can use my ef canon lenses on nearly every other brand with an adapter and still autofocus it’s only an excuse that they couldn’t make a standard mounting. M42 was great , in our Photoclub whatever camera brand you had you could exchange lenses with each other as needed ,someone had a lens that you could use and simply borrow from him and he borrowed one from you without anyone needing to go broke.

I have this lens with M39 thread and I can not focus at all when mounting this lens on Nikon Z. Should I buy some extension rings or something? Could you, please, help me with that issue?

Finally, I got one at Mar-2024, which selling at just HKD $750 (USD ~$96), and even come with a "M42 to Nikon Z" adapter and a 49mm thread metal hood. Cool. I tried to mount this lens Olympus E-5, Panasonic G9, and also Sony A7 Mark II. Works great and the Hexacon-shaped bokeh is really unique. And interestingly, the serial no. of mine one comes with letter "N" beginning, N7259xx.
