really interesting the way you Mix the trends in 3 products, rather than just mention each trend as if they were a matter of just picking one side and ignoring all the other ones. Really nice format
I think your video helped hugely in my Studio class. We are required to design a product in different DLS/VBL, and that is definitely something we need to do in the professional field. It is difficult, but your video is a great instruction for starting students like us! Thanks a lot!
Great video, you've sumed up everything that has taken over my Pinterest feed in the past year. (almost missing 2019's speckle texture) Loved how you implemented them in some quick designs. Hope for more awesome content soon
Thanks for the nice comment! I actually left out the speckle/terrazzo texture on purpose, it got so crazy overused that I thought it would already look old in this video haha. But I did think about it :)
Great video! I suck at industrial design and steal my ideas from everywhere to look acceptable, not great though. It's still a hell lot of work and the most time consuming in our product development. Good to know that copying little bits here and there is sort of common practice!
Yeah it‘s kind of a weird line, but I think taking inspiration from others is ok as long as you give credit where it comes from and try to put your own unique spin on it. Like you can use the same ingredients as others as long as your outcome is different. So take the trends as inspiration but try to do it in a Moe way
Hi, thank you for your interesting video. can you please tell me how can i find keyshot for my ipad? i searched it in AppStore but i couldn't find that!
I’d be curious how old the pictures you found are. I’ve been pinning these kind of forms since like 2012. Daniel Simon has been using them long before that. So I wonder if you can call this a trend for 2020 if it’s a style from 10 years ago. The question is, will ppl buy it or does it still look too much like it’s from a movie like oblivion.
Hey Spacemansabs! Great question: the trends are based on details I see being used often in 2020. I tried to us as many recent pictures as I could, a lot came from instagram within the last year and recent projects I knew about. Interesting to hear that you have seen stuff similar for a while now. Maybe some of this years trends will make it into next year’s video! It all depends on what designers choose to do in 2020.
Chanced upon ur channel looking for clues on CMF. Love your channel and the contents you make, itll be great if you could make a video on how to work with keyshot on ipad!!
I would say that my technique is derived from looking at the trends out there. I wouldn’t say that everyone is using this technique, but as you can see there definitely is a common style of our time. A lot of the time it’s subconsciously implemented
Thank you very much for this video! It is very helpful and useful! Waiting for the video about antitrands in industrial design:))What exactly doesn’t worth to do now?
Thanks for the great videos! I'd love to dabble in product design at home, I have a Windows laptop, can anyone suggest a simple software that's either free or inexpensive? I've used Autodesk Sketchbook in the past and have an Adobe Photography subscription currently (Lightroom and Photoshop). Thanks!
Do you have any tips on identifying trends in a usable way? Like the work you did before the video. You started the video with the "research" already done and you were able to call out specific forms and details but sometimes I think it can be difficult to distill all the info from a ton of different products into a few usable points.
What apps did you use? Not sure if it was in the description. I’m just not familiar with those but I’m really interested on the apps. Thanks 🙏🏻 I love this vid
Loved this video man, how did you get the grating for the speaker though? Did you just use the mesh with circles in Keshot or did you actually model it?
It’s a texture in keyshot, but i did split the geometry to where i wanted/didn’t want holes. I found this to be flexible andquick while I was still playing with the design.
The individual products shown you can find in the description. The stuff I designed isn’t for sale. Maybe in the future if enough people get interested :D
There already some awesome analysis videos out there! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OKAWCxQHzs0.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hLJbnKEIX_0.html
@@somegraythings Your content was great please go on . Thank you for replying my comment i am in 3rd year of bachelor degree in bachelor of commerce but i am never interested in it . So according my interest i look into pinterest & RU-vid then found Industrial design which never know exists . I hooked into it but what i do become one . I heard people from others stream can do masters in innovation design engineering Royal college of arts but it is hard to get in . And what about ID in China . And what you recommend to me .
those trends for looks generally annoys me. Why do we want to build products that looks each other lol. Should not the look be relevant to the contexts
There are a few different ones: i take notes on Sketchbook and look through the photos on Pinterest. Then I mirror my computer screen to use Keyshot to view the 3D files (see comment below)
