Great stuff and I am a new subscriber due to Scott Turner's shout out. What a great community and so encouraging! Love the lag bolts, look forward to more vids and the back catalogue.
That looks insane man, what an upgrade! We’re needing to make a load of stools for a poker table we built years back, and have a few stumps lying around - so may have to use this as a bit of inspiration!
Brothers Make Heck! Use away! I was actually inspired by a friend and fellow RU-vidr, Scott Turner from Australia. He has some cool and very unique design ideas
I saw those shear lag rivets on Scott turners video great to find out where they originated from, excellent idea. Can you send them to the UK please 😂 they are brilliant. Great video.
Hi there Scott, sadly I don't have them any longer. I've been trying to track down the he company that made them for me but I think the virus has scuttled a lot of companies overseas
Artfully Rogue thats such a shame but understandable with the current climate. Hopefully in the future everyone will be back at it. Super clever idea !!
Forget about the bloody stool (which isn't too foul) those screws with the disappearing hex head are a ripper of an idea and look great on the timber. Well done and thanks. Cheers, David.
Thanks. I actually tried and found out that there some older parents that are similar. I would need to identify very specific and unique features that are different than the other products
From the looks of your old shop stool, you maybe should have done this project a log time ago! :) We just saw Tim Sway use your shear lags on his latest video. Very cool!
Dude..! You rock, I just subbed, and I totally dig your builds, and style, awesome work..! I'm just sorry that I hadn't subbed sooner..! Keep buildin' cool stuff, and I'll keep watchin..!
Hi, awesome project man. I definitely subscribed and gave a thumbs up! Those rivet lags you made are genius dude. Definitely interested in purchasing some if you want to sell a couple dozen or so. Is that a possibility? I'm sure you didnt start out thinking about it but thats a great idea. And they woukd look great on this steampunk gothic looking piece of furniture I'm currently working on. Please let me kniw if youre interested. Thanks bro! Great video & way cool stool..lol I'm a poet now.
Christine Cahill I've totally thought about selling them, just hadn't worked out the details of what to charge. I'll get back on that and try and get them.listed in my Etsy store
Kenny Fisher my latest video about the Shear lags has a link at the end to my Etsy shop. Or just head over to Etsy.com search Artfully Rogue they are currently available there👍
Jack Spears III beyond just the need to have something like this, I drew what I wanted and sent the initial drawing to several manufacturers here in the states and abroad. Chose a company then got more specific with the drawing. Got a sample, modified it, got another sample then approved it and placed an order. Quantity and cost players a huge roll in selecting a manufacturer
Paul McGuinness I designed them and had them manufactured for a gig I was doing. I considered doing a video of the process involved but wasn't sure if it would be interesting or not
Paul McGuinness actually I had them professionally manufactured, however your not the first person that has suggested I do a video on the process, so I'll put something together that kinda walks through the process
TheWoodWerker thanks Gus, I'm hoping to getting around to pricing and listing them. I figured I'd do a quick video on how I had them made then offer to sell them.
@@ArtfullyRogue Thank you very much for your reply. I am Hideki Ishida of Key Supply Co., Ltd. in Japan. Could you please let me know your email address or website address ?
Very clever with your "sheerlags", expensive little bastards I'll bet. Try doing a stainless version? They look really cool with the hexagonal head still attached, more of a form over function sort of thing. It's a beautiful little shop stool, must weigh about 85lbs though?
Haha yeah the stool is pretty heavy...if I ever closed my shop, I'm sure I could sell it as a boat anchor :) I actually sell the lags in my Etsy store and I've tried to keep them reasonable. Charging just enough to place a new order when this batch runs out. Stainless would be cool, I'll have to check into manufacturing cost for sure
