I'm back. Thank you to all the viewers who provided great advice in the my initial attempt to do the laminations - see this video for more details: • Laminated Wood Leg Fai...
Wood - New Guinea Rosewood.
Steaming process - 30 - 40 minutes using high quality Australian made steam. Each leg stayed on the form for about 2 days to dry and stabilise. Then I glued those critters up using Polyurethane Glue (good stuff that glue).
I know I need to centre my cutting tool on the lathe (and remove the backlash).
Stain - Walnut
Special thanks to my Patreon Supporters who help me do what I do - thank you!!
Whilst not a sponsored video in any way - thanks to Welding Industries Australia (WIA) for the use of the WIA200i. It is a superb machine that makes my job that much easier.
Finally, thank you for watching (and reading this). All the best and I hope to see you again next time, or maybe in the comments!

“ No Touchie” that made my day. I can hear my first boss yelling “ keep your hands out of the work” after another apprentice got his finger cut on his table saw . Too funny, going to give this a try in my shop awesome work.

Just a little reminder. I try and be sensible around the saw, most of the time though I'm a goose.

Seeing your old plane, I'm reminded at how amazed I always am that planes made today use almost exactly the same design as those made 100+ years ago. Speaking of good design, your stool would look great in just about any setting from workshop to trendy pub.

Thank You Thomas! The larger plane is an oldie for sure. It was my Father in Laws Fathers plane and it is as it was when he last used it, with exception being I've sharpened it of course. All the best!

I have watched some of your other videos which I liked but this one made me subscribe. Really nice work!! FWIW, I think the bottom three-way retainer takes away from the stool and is fragile (a person could put their foot on a rod and bend it). Instead, I think you could remove that and beef up the upper ring by making it one ring above the other. What I mean is to make a ring that will weld to the bottom of the bolt tabs so you would see two rings together that are approximately one inch apart. This would be more than enough to keep the legs from deflecting outward and I think would give it a better presentation. MHO. Again, job well done and very inspiring. I look forward to your future projects.

great build...again! I've used the poly glue a couple of times when laminating....but, it doesn't do too well if the timber is too dry....it needs an 8-10% moisture content in the wood to cure and stick. I've started using tite bond III.....haven't had any de lamination problems since then.
