I always liked that they put that Gaelic phrase in there. Alba gu bràth means "Scotland Forever", figuring out a way to rhyme it with the word moolah was very clever i think

That's not what drawn and quartered means. Drawn is drawn by a horse to the execution site and quartered means they literally tore the body into 4 parts.

To be more accurate, they hitch a horses to each limb and then pull you into "quarters".

"Drawn" just means you were taken somewhere by a horse, like a horse-drawn carriage, but the original commenter is also wrong in that in the context of English history being quartered meant to be CHOPPED into four pieces by an executioner, usually after the head and genitals had already been removed. Being torn apart by four horses was practiced in Imperial China and certain parts of Europe like the Roman Empire, but was never known to be an execution method in medieval England as it was practiced centuries before England even existed.

@@jasongarfitt1147 No, that's evisceration. When William says "I was emasculated, eviscerated" he was saying they cut off his junk and pulled out his guts. Having said that, traditionally being drawn and quartered involved being hanged (not enough to kill you, but enough to make you suffer), cutting off your dong, ripping out your intestines, cutting off your head, cutting the remaining body into four pieces, and displaying the pieces (and the head) on pikes to serve as a warning to anyone else who might try to commit treason against the crown.

@@jasongarfitt1147 You are also correct. Being "drawn" could refer to both being dragged through the streets by horse or being eviscerated. Primary sources from the time do not draw any distinction as usually the acts were done to the same individual.

You should also check out the erb behind the scenes where they show how these are made. They actually alter their voices with software to get that perfect accent. Takes weeks to make one erb. It's amazing how much work goes into it.

Wallace won it for me because of the slavery bars. But what really sells it for me. Is “if you held my balls you couldn’t be my caddy.” That line even if it was used in a legit rap battle. It would have been a heavy hitting bar.

Great reaction as usual. I don’t always agree with your picks but I always enjoy watching your reactions. However, I do agree with you on this one. I did think George Washington’s swag was better but William Wallace‘s digs were a little deeper in my opinion. “ founding father but no children” you got that one. “ you crossed the Delaware but your soldiers can’t swim” not sure if you caught that one or not. He’s referencing Washington sperm can’t find the egg.

Any pharmacy, most supernarkets and some gas stations have it. Also comes in popsicles. I think Walgreens has a store brand version that's around half the price.

Way I see it, Washington had 1 excellent verse and 1 ok verse whereas Wallace had 2 great verses. Add in that Wallace's last verse was just as, if not stronger than his first and you have to give it to him. But Washington's First verse was best of all lol In my opinion of course lol

I think you missed the point of drawing in quartered drawing and quartering is when all four limbs are tied to opposite facing horses and then they cut you down the center and across your stomach and then have the horses rip you apart

*Sips Coffee Defiantly* I usually don't comment on who I think won unless it feels very obvious. Personally, I didn't feel that Wallace had enough good lines, while Washington's were brutal. Simply opening the battle with how he succeeded and Wallace failed in his goals, making fun of how he was emasculated, flexes with everything named after him and tells him he'll turn his clothes red when he slits his throat in his sleep, then Wallace weakly opens with clothes and the Monument, and only then follows it with a semi-hard hitting line about owning slaves and tries, but fails, to turn around the diss of being emasculated. The second round was weak from both, but Wallace utterly fails to hit hard by doubling down in the second round with slaves again. That second round verse about slaves should have been in the first round, then it would have been a solid bar. Nah, Washington won this battle from word one.

The "Stay in your office or suffer great losses" was a hard hitting bar because GW did eventually come up with decent tactics but he was by his own admission (according to some records) terrible at battle tactics with armies when in the field

I know it's an old comment, but Scottish guy here, wallaces death lead to us getting independence so.. I feel that point isnt as hard hitting as it should be, Wallace was a martyr for the cause, was also the guardian of Scotland, Washington was bad at tactics, Wallace fought one of the most well equipped armies at the time with guerrilla tactics and held out for a long time, until somone did a judas and snaked him, he'd of probably lasted longer otherwise.

However impressive it may be that his death was a turning point in the war, his accomplishment was that he died, which isn't that impressive. Heck, my grandmother did that, too!

His accomplishment was more like, Proving to a beaten people that you can actually fight back against cruel masters, you don't get to be the guardian of Scotland for nothing haha, I mean he waged a war on a well equipped army and won alot of battles the only reason he even died was because of a traitor, like if someone hadn't backstabbed him he'd of probably went on to win more victorys.
