what a race track... it reminds me of a mix of sugo raceway in japan and brands hatch.. besides that, what a great broadcast, with the fancy characters and stuff.. I love you, Indycar!

Townsend Bell is a gem. He was Will Buxton's sub in unilateral interviews after his father died, and used driver code on the drivers. He still races GT cars and calls most Indy races, and he is the polar opposite of David Croft. The producers are respected and note how there is respect of each crew.

gorgeous track ! must be a thrill ride to go at it with a high powered lightweight premier class top level open wheel single seater like the Indys. btw the current gen cars look drop dead beautiful. look at the action, and the numbers of cars shuffling and scrambling. Indycar Racing is so much more exciting and competitive than the peacock circus borefest that is current day f1.

Have already watched 3 full races each for F1, MotoGP and Indycar this year. Indycar is as unpredictable like MotoGP. I like the wheel to wheel action.

@@adibz959 IMHO it may be due to misinformed misconception that others have about indycar being inferior to F1, which is not, as the two are entirely different leagues and racing cultures. I guess you are a true race fan because you are able to appreciate different forms of racing. I bet you would even like SuperGT.

@@silcaddj7708 well maybe because Indy is inferior to F1 ?? And to be honest I heard so many times how interesting IndyCar is compare to F1 so much wheel to wheel action, so many overtakes and close fights. Yes just saw it in this replay, 2 overtakes on 90 fucking laps.

Ali Khadour Indy has always been driving on road courses and circuits. There are only 4 oval races in the indycar calendar while most of the season its circuits. Let me guess its your first time watching indy?

Ex F1 drivers have 2 choices, formula E or Indycar, for me it’s a no contest. Indycar is unmolested and great racing.

Not really, they also have the choice of going to endurance racing with either FIA WEC or IMSA i.e Hartley and Sirotkin in WEC rn on the same team, and Nasr in IMSA who won at Sebring a few weeks ago

IndyCar is not a holding basin for f1 drivers, as it is certainly not second tier. in many ways IndyCar these days is much more demanding, aggressive and competitive than f1. a while back Nigel Mansell said, that Indycar made him dizzy, and that modern i.e. contemporary f1 drivers are not crazy and tough enough to try Indycar and the American racing circuit.

LOL so let me explain quickly: Faster than F1? hahahahahahhahahahahaha Better looking? depends on subjective opinion however bare in mind none of them cars are build to be good looking. More entertaining? Well no !!! Heard so much of wheel to wheel racing in IndyCar and what? People actually in comment section call this track amazing and this race incredible. There was like 2 or 3 fucking overtakes the whole 90 laps of the race so WTF are you people even talking about? If this was F1 race people would be flipping out how boring it was

The fact that overtaking is done here without any assistance IS the one which make the race more interesting. You can have countless DRS overtaking in F1, and nothing is impressive

Reminder that IndyCar *not* throwing the yellow immediately for Rahal's stopped car, directly caused the incident between Kanaan and Chilton at pit entry, as seen at 6:30. Either a car stopped on track is dangerous, or it isn't. Delaying on obviously incoming yellow "for the sake of competition" is just not a good idea.

Indycar and this NBC channel both started doing it this season. I don't know how often you have to watch these highlights but here in Australia we can't watch indycar so I have to do this. I pick up on it after St Pete what indycar were doing then I found this channel after Texus and I'm sure if you watched these highlights enough you'd pick up on it and wouldn't want them to do it. F1 do the right thing and just put a thumbnail that does give you any clue as to what happened in the race@@GTChucker86

Of course I care about driver safety, but I also care about the show, the racing and the attractiveness of the series etc. etc. I could just as well say "they should end the series as it is too dangerous". And if you answer "no we shouldn´t as people enjoy the racing" I can answer "yeah you insensitive person, why is the safety of the drivers not important for you?". As without racing there would be no safety concerns.

They wanted to have something similar to it but on ovals it actually reduces visibility drastically. Because of the banking when there is somebody in front of you they can basically disappear behind the "horizon" of the halo.

Indycar and F1 have similarities, but also a lot of differences that make F1 ''nothing like'' Indycar. So wether those guys know F1 exists or not, does not change the fact that there is nothing quite like Indycar. it's a fairly unique concept on its own that isn't seen elsewhere.

Well, there isn't actually. F1 pales in comparison. For a start, this is a proper track, with grass. F1 runs on health and safety throughout, which leaves it with timid, masticated tracks that are basically car parks.

@@sahdiqtv5437 Well they aren´t and Indycars are fast enough for me, and a lot more entertaining to watch as they are without most driver-aids (like power steering) and have no artificial overtaking devices. Still, Indycars are so much more entertaining with natural overtaking and circuits that actually punish drivers who make mistakes. F1 purists make me crazy. Not everything is about speed. If it was, I would still watch F1, but after 16 years of watching every race (1997-2013) I just could not do it after that as it became artificial and boring. Thankfully for 2014 I found Indycar and have been there since.

@ALEXANDER MILENSKY They are absolutely competing. More this year than they have in a while. Indycar got a SkySports deal in the UK this year. That is a direct challenge to F1. And F1 has been trying to build a US fan base for years now. They were even trying to get a 2nd grand prix in Miami added to the calendar recently.
