Not to be a debbie downer, but the very gradual growth from newborn to infant to toddler makes the jump from child to teenager all the more dramatic. We need preteens😭

it kinda sucks that, like, 80% of the actual gameplay and uniqueness with infants is pack exclusive, like EA is trying to make it so you HAVE to buy the pack or else infants are almost as bland as babies used to be. Things like quirks and milestones should have been base game

I wonder if occult infants have any uniqueness to them. I always find it adorable when werewolf babies howl in their crib.

Super disappointed that the Sims 4 team didn't make a changing table in the base game. What about the people who can't afford the $40 game pack?

I am really glad that Plumbella is on the same page as a lot of players in calling out what she feels should be basegame and not being gatekept behind the new pack e.g. the changing tables that are based on basegame furniture, and the full body moles. I am not even that fussed about the changing table except now diapers collect on the floor and Sims are terrible at autonomously putting them in a bin. Either make the Sims better at cleaning up, or give us one table to use without the pack. Personally, I don't like how the whole of infant development is pack only but I can understand that more since it forms part of the Milestones, and they need that to be a core feature of the pack or else why would we buy it.

they look way too much like toddlers to me tbh. when they were first revealed i couldn't even tell the difference and honestly i still really can't. one sits and one stands, that's really the only main physical difference. also, we should be able to use the bassinets. "infants are too big for bassinets" why?????

i’m soooo pleased this update is finally out and it’s really great, but i am slightly disappointed about how much was kept out of base game - with growing together and the infant update so close i found it really hard to find out what was going to be part of what

Gotta love this update. The second I try to do it the EA app says I don’t own any games anymore. All I play is the sims and I’ve spent over 900$ on it. If this doesn’t get fixed I’m not spending that kind of money again. Idk why my game would just disappear.

What you said about them being annoying is EXACTLY it! I don't have the pack yet but base game had my sim with 3 red needs bar and the infant was still needing attention... just like reality! Exactly the kind of challenge I wanted from them!

i can’t believe how watered down basegame infants are. i played it the second it installed and was so confused bc they could literally do everything. i will still be aging up all babies into infants immediately tho and will probably get growing together just bc it’s better even though i barely play sims anymore lol

Am I the only one who can genuinely tell almost no difference between infants and toddlers? And even the "cribs" are the exact same mattress as the toddler bed. IDK I wish we'd gotten pre-teens or smaller children instead

James Turner seemed to figure out that if you have the baby ask the caregiver to "be put down" or "feed me a bottle", for some reason the rooting issue is a lot smoother. The caregiver just does what's needed right away. (My computer died last week. 😭 Very inconvenient timing. I have no way of testing this theory further, but good luck y'all.)

Yeah when MCC is updated I’ll be lowering the newborn age to 1 day and increasing the infant age. I love them ☺️

My sims game is already being glitchy with the infant update. In cas, when I age any sim age down to an infant it’s grown some daddy long legs and is standing up straight😅 Fun watch but I hope they fine tune it a bit

The cot by wall is a travel cot. You can put it in Sims' inventory

Did anyone else get the stretchy infants glitch? Every time they go to crawl they stretch out really tall then shrink back down once they start moving. Super creepy 😂

I played when the Base Game Update came out, I did the 7 infants challenge XD. I love the infants, although I wish that Milestones were in base game. It surprised me when my infants were already sitting up after they grew from newborns, then I figured that was specific for the pack. I'll wait until Thursday (my mom bought it for me as an early Birthday Present, very early, my birthday is in May) to age up my legacy babies so I can play with the milestones.

Most people using steam can't get in the game (Including me) I was reading the comments on the update page, and everyone is saying "We can't get on the game!!" IT TOOK 2 AND A HALF HOURS TO UPDATEEEEEEEE, I WAS SO EXCITED!! I hope they fix it soon 😭😭

The routing issues drive me nuts my sim always takes the infants outside for tummy time… there is plenty of room inside

I feel like the newborn stage really helps for people playing the whole real life aesthetic. Sims are normally super sleepy after the baby and all their needs need catching up so it's nice to get it back to normal before starting the constant care aspect.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought of Zoellas baby room with that baby bookshelf! First thing that came to mind 😂

I've been playing with base game infants since yesterday. The pack comes out here on the 16th. I already had one of my babies turn into slender man for a sec but other than it's been smooth sailing sort-of 😅
