Infected blood scandal: Government was warned years before taking action 

Dad was in hospital getting treatment for Leukaemia...he was given Hep B...they fobbed us off, medical notes are missing or destroyed..tried going to a solicitor years later who fobbed us off too...been almost 30yrs of cover ups and now at last it's exposed....RIP Dad you missed out on so much ❤❤❤❤

Where are the criminal prosecutions?

One of my friends was a haemophiliac baby in about 1984, and he was given blood transfusions from America that the British government have admitted that they KNEW was likely to be infected with HIV, but they big fat did it anyway, because the blood was cheap. My friend has suffered with ill health all his life, it has stunted his growth. It limits what work he can do, and the hours he can work. It's made relationships difficult, as he always has to be upfront with any potential partner. He's unable to have children. The stigma of being HIV positive is still very real.

I remember seeing a documentary about this 15+ years ago. Shameful that's taken half a century to be fully investigated.

This is utterly heartbreaking to listen to , they deserve a voice, respect, dignity let alone compensation for the needless tragedy that has been put onto them and their families

And they ask why we refuse to have their vaccines?

My dad died in 2013 after finding out he had bowl cancer in early 1997 had to under many blood transfusions where he contracted hep c. I’ve recently learned they kept the infected blood till at least the year 2000 but only people who was given transfusion sept 1991 can be given compensation which is horrendous

I will never if my Father died from Contaminated Blood. In 1970 my Father started blood transfusions every month after being diagnosed with Aplastic Anaemia. He started them in September1970 until he died from Pneumonia in June 1971. I will never know if he died from Contaminated blood he had 10 transfusions. I had to have a blood tra nfusion in August 1970 before I had my third child. Should I have the test? I had Bowel Cancer in 2021 I am now in my 3rd year off recovery.

Even if you do manage to get rid of the HCV from this, you're problems are far from over! It's been an absolutely horrendous nightmare & still is!

My father in law was a hemophiliac. He died in 1995 of aids. We didn't know until after his funeral. My eldest son (Peter) was only a few months old, his grandad asked if he could spend some time with him. I would love to know what he said to him. Also when he found out he had to sell his fish n chip shops. But he still worked. When he was younger he was a bouncer ( door man). His grandson has hemophilia as well, He is just like him it will never stop him from enjoying life. I have 4 sons and a daughter. Also my second son is a hemophiliac as well , he is a engineer. My 2 youngest sons don't have hemophilia. I am proud that they have 25% of his dna, also my eldest is the father of my grandson. He would be so proud of all of them. RIP Peter.

My fathers picture should be among them. He was infected with Hep C and he passed away in 2001 my father was a severe haemophilia and he wouldn’t go for treatment.. his two brothers were infected too and my nephew was infected too. I want the doctors that knew to be prosecuted to the highest standard 🤬🤬🤬

But nobody talks about where the infected blood comes from. Why?? most of it imported from the U.S.

The government imported blood products from dubious sources at cheap rates, the effects were being seen in the early mid eighties onwards.

At the time I had set up a Sunshine's Place web page entirely dedicated to explaining Hemophilia. The reports from America to campaign for the 100 thousand dollar bill bill to be passed and this page was visited by all kinds of countries all over the world, especially many members from England. I once smuggled the DVD Factor 8, from America in my possession where prisoners sell their contaminated blood. manufacturers knew about it and kept it quiet!

NHS is saddled with the expense, while American companies profited at the victims cost.

And to think, people still trash people who refuse blood transfusions
