Two glove brands I haven’t seen you do on the channel and I’d like to see you do are Glovesmith and Barraza Rollin. Glovesmith was the original custom brand before Rawlings started offering customs than Wilson soon followed. Barraza Rollin is a highly respected Mexican glove brand whose been making gloves 40 years. You’ll see a lot of professional Mexican players in Mexico using this brand.
I was way ahead of the curve. Back in the late 70's, early 80's I was the only one with a SSK (Sasaki) glove. It was different than the Rawlings and Wilsons everyone else had.
Dang i been doing this break in method forever and never realized others or Japanese did it too! Will say it works better with thinner gloves but have an a2000 and an a2k broken in this way takes so long to get it comfortable, I'm talking almost guve up sessions but once you get it they feel way better! Love the content! Keep up the good work bro!
Hey Ball Glove King Please Reply, So I Want A New Custom Glove Either A Wilson 11.75 1785 A2000 Or A Rawlings HOH 11.75 Pro 205, I’m A 13 year old, 8th grader, playing high school baseball, 3rd Base, I also like a deep pocket… which would you recommend? Also with my current glove I am having the problem of the ball hitting the pocket of the glove then shooting out of the glove out of the web, I tried flared pinky and thumb, also flared thumb and pinky inward towards the heel/pocket.. please do you have any tips, btw I love your channel🔥🔥🔥
Hey i am 14 i play mainly 3rd and pitch but i also play a little short. What would be the best glove for me? right now i have a wilson and a heart of the hide and i like rawlings.
Look into the Rawlings Gamer XLE It’s definitely slept on. www.justballgloves.com/product/rawlings-gamer-xle-speed-shell-kris-bryant-12-25--baseball-glove--gxlekb17-6bss/34646/?rfsn=6409155.28680b&
I work at dicks and can’t even speak on them, have only sold a couple. For 200$ a pop they sure do look as good as the other competitors, but can’t speak for performance, no feedback yet!
@@stoccf3062 i know! I’m timid on buying one because of the price and it feels pretty good. I just want to see what he has to say since he is THE king of gloves!!
@@stoccf3062 I have been waiting for someone/anyone to tell me they have one and give me some feedback. They look really nice. I’m just not willing to drop good cash on an unknown when there’s Rawlings, Mizuno, and Wilson right there too.
@taren @vegasguy1975 We have one that is what I would assume is your typical steer hide, then we have one around a 80$ price point that is cheaper leather, probably some kind of “composite” leather. It is a dark brown color with pecan color accents, it’s a sharp glove. As for the more expensive one, they feel great and the color is awesome. Knowing marruci and the realizability that they are so fond of, I can’t imagine they’d release a glove at a 200$ price point that isn’t of good or better quality.
I play in adult baseball leagues and I have a Rawlings Pro Preferred I bought 18 years ago. It’s a 12 inch glove. That is the perfect size for me. I play a mix of positions. The glove has lasted so many years. I must of paid around $250 for it. The Rawlings Pro gloves uses the best leather. I used hot water and used a ball warped in the glove for a month. Every night. I oil the glove once a year.
Wassup Chris? I am thirteen years old and I am currently debating if I should spend $220 on an a2000 or drop $170 on a custom 44. What do you recommend I do?
Thanks for all the legit content. Watched your review of the Mizuno Pro Limited from Haga, and was wondering how close or how good the Wilson Staff Gloves that are made in Japan are to the quality of the Mizuno gloves from the Haga factory in Japan? Looking for a premium 11'.5 (Middle Infielder) I - web for my son. Light, and a shallow pocket are good things from my perspective.
I love that pro preferred so much if you ever get the chance to get that glove again I would really love to see you break it in just how you usually break in your gloves thank you.
Glad you covered this. It's how I break-in all my gloves. Since the late 90s. It's a very common style in Japan. But was also more common in MLB during the 90s/00s. To have a wide-shallow glove playing 2nd/SS/3rd for ball control/quickness. Before players started using 2 in the pinky. 2 in the pinky was only used for Outfield back then. Nowadays.. it's kinda merged over to Infield somehow. Not gonna lie, I just started watching your vids last week and was wondering why you were breaking them all in with such a deep pocket. Until I saw this video. 😉 It's all preference though.
Glove threading also affects, Palm space has a lot to do with this, you can search "逆とじ". This is the mainstream method of Japanese gloves, which is different from American ones.
Question about Japanese Rawlings -- what is with the GH, GR, GK versions? I saw on Reddit that GR means rubberball and GH is baseball? Just curious for an explanation and maybe breakdown of the differences in those classes - leather, padding, etc. Just figured you might know. Thanks. Love the content.
Just saw a Nike vapor 360 glove for the first time recently. You should see if you could get one to review. Looks like they tried to mate a soccer goal keeper glove with a baseball glove.
i always tighten the wrist. i also use a technique where i go one hole tighter on the top of the back of the hand then the bottom it is more ergonomic to the motion of the hand. basically tighten the wrist strap asymmetrical
Hey man I know it’s not your usual but it would be cool to see a series of reviews on classic and unique gloves. Specifically I would love to see a review on the Nike Kaos 1000 a glove I used as a really young kid.
I have a 44 Japan Select which is light, thin and has the shallow wide pocket and it works great snagging grounders but taking line drives, or just even hard throws, to the palm hurts like f'in hell.
I was about to buy that pro preffered a week ago but was waiting for a response on how you feel about the NP pattern. And now you reviewing the same glove when it sold out. This sucks
I was just about to mention that I traded a glove for the red and black 11.25 capitol series Marucci. It would be a cool one to collect. Could you break one in and try it out?
Big stuff coming this year for slow pitch (announcement coming soon) In the mean time check out my other channel “BallGloveKing Extras” for more Slowpitch mic’d up stuff
My son has had a pro select 1B mitt for the last three years of travel (from like 11-14 yrs old). He’s 6’01 now, and it just won’t die. It seems way better than a GG elite
you need to undo and redo palm heel strap. when you compare those 2 gloves, straps are running different direction. it will change alot. trust me im a japanese man.
What I learned from this video is that Japanese baseball players must have shoe leather for palms. Catching a hot ball in the palm hurts my hands just thinking about it.
