14:55 Opponent needed to Spell Pierce the bottom Expansion. Then the other two on the stack have an illegal target and fizzle. Of course, the way to play around that is to simply not play the second Expansion and just hold up the two mana (or let the pierce resolve and play it afterwards).

I let this deck play out when i come up against it. I sit there hoping they mess it up or time out. also if they are going to make a deck so tedious i make them do it instead of making it easy for them by conceding. cool combo though!

I'd say locking in a combo and saying "and then I hit you for infinite damge" is less annoying than dragging a game on for 10 minutes with denial spell after denial spell tbh.

This deck seems nuts. The fact that you can go off at instant speed in response to one of there spells and copy it (if it cost 4 or less) is just nuts. I've been doing well with a more streamlined version of this deck. I moved Niv to the main and took out Ionize, Rals Outburst, doublecast and Skwer the critics. It's been doing well on constructed bo1 events going 35 wins in 5 events. Whats is annoying is if your playing a dumb gain life deck and there on 30+ life and they dont coincide. I mean it's not just my time your wasting haha! I built a deck off of the 0/4 (electrostatic field) and some guttersnipe. Shock skewer and lighting strike and opt. Really fast deck. Haven't tried it at fnm yet but looking forward to it. I went with the idea from a deck u made with guttersnipe so thank you for the bug in my ear.

Narset is also really good in azorius builds with emergency power. Instant card advantage against your opponent. Pretty broken. One step further is throwing in a self mill plan with Jace wielder of mysteries. Narset has so many applications, by far my favorite card thusfar of war.

Joey, I really really want to see you build a deck around the new Karn. Does it work the same way on arena as it should in tournaments? Where you load up your sideboard with whatever you're planning on using with Karn, or will it let you select a card from your entire collection? Either way, I think it would be really cool to see you basically turn your sideboard into an instant wincon with stuff like hiding an immortal sun in your sideboard and busting it out to shut down your opponent. Or if you had lots of mana, it would be cool to fetch a Parhelion II without it having to be a dead draw from running it in a deck. It's up to you how you wanna build it, I just think it would be really cool to see it in action on Arena

Expansion/explosion is an awesome combination, but I think a playset of Narset's reversal would fit better. It may be harder to get due to requiring 2 islands, but it would return to your hand upon copying and would still protect against counters. Maybe my stack logic is wrong though.

So I just constructed the deck on mtg arena and played my first ranked play and one my first game using this deck oh wow it is fun. I was new to it and felt a little wonky at first but eventually I got it and pinged my opponent down to 5 before my opponent conceited.

Another Tip: Bring the Thousand Year Storm(basically the Expansion card, Enchantment edition) too so that you have more copies with just one cast of Expansion. I know because I even try it myself with that card. One warning for those who will try this: copy the first copy before it resolves and turns to it's chosen copy.

I have a question. I play krenko with an artifact that gives him haste. I tap him and create goblins and then I pass. Then in my opponents turn I put a thousand years elixir and i pay 1 and tap it to untap krenko and create more creatures in my opponents turn since it has haste. Can i do that?

Should of used the expanse/explosion at the end of their turn when you already had 2 in hand. would of let you draw 3 cards ending the game the next turn.

Been playing a deck like this sometimes in the last couple of days, out of the like 25 wins I got with the combo only 2 people conceded, the rest of them I had to combo all the way to 0, not sure if they dont understand that the combo can go infinite, if they are annoyed so they decide to annoy me by having me ping them down from max life(sometimes 30+ life), or if they are hoping I mess up some time in the middle of it xD

Let's hope one day there are mechanisms implemented that simply prohibit you from doing such stuff or that there is a report function for people who exploit, I think that would help the game a lot.

Also, on a side note do you think getting a war of the spark booster box is worth it? (Asking because I'm gonna get a booster box in a few hours but not sure from which set yet)

once the spell has been cast it uses the amount of mana you spent (that includes things with X cost) It's different if they're in the hand or graveyard for other effects.

No, you need to copy the first expansion with the second which lets you keep targeting an expansion on the stack until they die.

On Arena bo1 there are less midrange decks, more control and even more aggro decks. The bo3 meta is basically the same as in paper.

I think this deck was good before people figured out how to implement WAR cards, however, I don't see this being super competitive due to how many control decks there are out there. Edit: Nvm...I saw this as a BO1 just now.

I for one enjoy seeing all the cool stuff people send you and a whole video dedicated to that once every week or two would be super tight. This is not as strong as my version. My version hurts people so bad they literal quit during the death chain. You don’t even need that many damage spells. You got mad jank in there and there’s 4 cards you are not using. That make this a modern nightmare... I haven’t rebuilt it for standard

I’m a person that refuses to concede against infinite combos and stupidly long control games. If someone wants to win with (sometimes) stupid broken mechanics, I will gladly sit there and waste their time. I’m torn on this, because Izzet is my baby but I hate any infinite combos in Magic that instantly win the game. I love the power of this deck, but I could never see myself playing it

@OhsewI disagree with one-sided fun being okay in any game. No matter what game I play, I play to have fun as a group with friends. I don't care about winning or losing so long as the game was interesting and balanced, with no clearly defined winner until that final twist move comes out. Catan, Takenoko, Magic, Zombie Dice, Fluxx, Love Letter, Munchkin, Tokaido... it doesn't matter the game, so long as everyone had a chance and everyone had a good time.

I wanted to like this deck but it gets absolutely eaten alive on arena. I've played it like 50 matches and only won maybe 10 of them and a 20% win rate just isn't that impressive. Everything has been beating it: mono red, mono blue, esper control, dreadhorde invasion, grixis control. Think I'll go back to the feather deck or the mono white aggro. Both of those are over 60% win rate and just seem much better in this very aggressive meta.

Not going to lie, I do not understand how this deck goes undefeated. I've played it over 10 games of Bo3, same with 2 others I know. We all had high hopes and I've come back to say that between all of us there were only 13 out of the 30 Bo3 matches where 2 wins were achieved. Very disappointing.

Couldn’t you also get the Combo on your turn by copying expansion with ral himself

No. Activating Ral's ability is at sorcery speed. The stack would be empty and you would have no target for the Expansion. And if you cast it as Explosion, the copy would be Explosion.
