This video has finally decided for me that I will not be doing the Angulum server for the time being. High entry costs are compounded by high research costs - for me the cost/benefit trade off isn't attractive. Too bad!
BTW, I did watch your video on getting into Angulum, and even though I followed the directions, there were tons of issues. I gave my group a three-word name, but the Chinese players said they saw an error “name too small” as in not enough letters. There were 13 letters spaced across three words “Old New World.” Seemed reasonable to me, and easy to translate. Then there were those from other languages that didn’t have any display of created group names, despite the AC groups existing, they bought a ticket, and had received an invitation even in some circumstances. What a complete and total mess. Then, when I tried to dissolve my group and see if simply using numbers as the group name might work, I was told I would have to deal with a two-hour cooldown before I could take a second shot at possibly bypassing this barely alpha-quality experience. Way to go IL dev team. Punish your players because you can’t get your stuff together!
I know that the developers are still looking into the game and I have high hopes that there will be better features in the future (but of course these are only my hopes)
My union just placed first in our first server - everyone was so happy and ready to start new adventures. Huge, huge, huge, cluster f^ck as we tried to enter Angulum. English instructions for first time users is abysmal, though I had no idea how bad it was for other languages, German, Spanish, just to name a few we encountered. IL managed to take a cohesive group ready to put more money into the game and turn them into people wondering why they had ever tried this totally f^cked inter-server experience. I logged on to find all the email horror stories with desperate pleas for some direction and assistance, and right when I went to respond by sending a union-wide email, I got transported to Angulum and for some reason that cut my access to union-wide mail. I just sat there with no way to further assist my comrades of the last two months. I was so angry that the idiots at IL had managed to screw us over so properly, that I thought about sending a bug report detailing my experience, then I wondered why I would waste my time on such a group of incompetent fools determined to financially sink their own game. Better to let you know, since you care and will come back to play. We still have no clue how long we have to stay in this purgatory or when we can play together again (or how to do it) on a second season server. What an incredible crock of sh!t experience! YT is great if a player speaks English, and your videos have helped me immensely. What I learned this season is that there are huge knowledge gaps if English is not a player’s first, or strong second language. Love the channel. Make the voices of my lost sheep heard!
