190k here and not a problem just basic maintenance. Replacing wheel bearings this weekend. This car has been the most reliable car I've ever owned. Hope to push it past 300k
Thanks for the input , i also just changed a wheel bearing left front now th right is starting to make that sound .The power this car has is awesome, when i pass on the highway nobody is able to close my window of opportunity , dont you hate when a guy speeds up on you as your trying to pass ? broi blow them out of the water and put them and there car to shame every time and i love it , i will never roll under 300hp again in my life , its the only way to fly
New g37 owner here...wheel bearings is just another oil change for other cars like Chevy sedans no kidding lol. I'm a LSX guy but i can admit Chevy, dodge and ford make their sedan suspension parts out of play doe or Legos. At 70k my Pontiac G8 needed suspension rebuild and my 2014 charger RT new upper control arms and my latest Chevrolet Caprice PPV needed a full front suspension rebuild plus wheel bearings and new shocks and struts.... and that's just suspension they're were other headaches to deal with.. this is my first non GM or domestic vehicle and i must say for a 9 year old car I'm blown away with quality. I'm hoping this car doesn't give the headaches of the past at some point it's too much to deal with..
It is I have the same car and I mechanic just told me that's the problem but I forgot the name so I'm coming on here to investigate so I can try to fix it
@@sadiqabdul90 sorry that this is late and you probably either fixed it or destroyed your bearing, but yes, with the AWD G37 the front bearings are different than the RWD one's, so if you're somehow still in need of that, definitely make sure to get the AWD specific bearing. On websites it also lists the passenger and driver side as separate items, so I'm not sure if those are interchangable. But you definitely need an AWD bearing
My got changed and now the G drives much better. However, it's like the bearing hub now makes like grinding sound. Almost as if though the internal of the hub needs oil for the bearings themselves. Thoughts?
Found the issue. So the mechanic who changed out my wheel bearings earlier this year must have put the bearing dust cover/plate on backwards. Hence the grinding on the rotor. Once I flipped them, the grinding sound was gone!
i got a bad wheel bearing and it squeaks. its very quite but u can defintly hear it if you got ur window open and ur listening for it. also my car would shake at high speeds.
I have 201kmi on my 2007 G35x and gonna do the drivers wheel bearing. Thanks for posting. What other work have you had to do one yours? The driver's Cat Converter rattles on the inside and bugs me so I bought a replacement. Problem is I can't reach the three bolts on the engine side of the converter so I am going to have someone do it for me.
oi have a video about the same problem on my old g6 and i drilled screws into the cat and the rattle stopped , like five 3" long self tapping tec screws
I have a 07 g35x 130k miles but I had an issue with the abs sensor where all my other sensors work fine except the rear left one and I’ve tried fixing it a couple of time but it would work for a month then go back I called the dealer they said it’ll be $1000 job and they have to change the whole abs connector but all I’m missing is the rear left abs pig tail connecter
I got an 09 g37 j with 77k miles and it’s makin a noise from the right rear my dumb self didn’t take the time to really analyze and diagnose the problem thought it might be the axle replaced that and still gettin noise anyone know if you’re rotor getting too thin can make noise? Honestly thinkin it’s the bearing
Thanks for the feedback , i liked this car so much i bought an 09 G37x , The journey is a different beast , its transmission is programmed for speed , the x is programed for soccer moms but still out runs 99% of encounters . I hate it when im tryna pass and people hit the gas on me to close my window . Thats not a problem in this car . it puts them to shame when it wakes up and cranks out 7,500 rpm which is 1500 rpm higher then 99% of traffic .
@@_KeepItG If we're going to be objective, yes that is a lot of miles for any car. However the VQ platform is so reliable I would say 180k isn't a lot for what the car is. There are numerous examples of VQ's hitting 400k and over.
@@MetalDetailer nice. Hope the car is treating you well still. I had a Q50, with 150,000 miles, 2014, owner since new and I miss it every day but it was getting expensive to repair and my commute was long, I miss it but I got an Acura TLX now.
@@harisqureshi7469 I have a long commute too. Just spend a ton on repairs like the starter, wheel bearing , tires and rims, fluids, a tune (it fixed a lot), cats are now HFCs paired with a dual 3” exhaust. I’m holding on until she is totaled or paid off.
Thanks for the input , im at 209,000 and i drive this poor thing to death , hits 120 mph on a regular basis " Italian tune up " . Second gear coming off the exit slips a bit but other then that she's running like a top , using royal purple high performance street with sinerlac
I just tighten my wheels in a star pattern I don't think you absolutely have to do all that bullshit lol, been doing it for about 4 or 5 vehicles now I do all the repairs myself, haven't had a wheel failure yet
@@NOBOX7 LOLhow do you think shops put them on? You think they follow the service manual to a t lol they just use an impact and tighten the nuts until they can't anymore
