During my 500+ mile, 8-hour drive home, I decided to do some baseline testing. The vehicle has over 200,000 miles. Facebook: / edbwoy.edu Email: edbwoy@gmail.com
As we discussed earlier on the other video that’s correct. And it will drop a whole lot city driving , don’t remember exactly but anywhere from 11 to 13 mpg if I remember correctly. Also when you filled up you still had a little more in the tank once I was able to get 25 gallons into the tank that time. But I wouldn’t obviously tell people do that ever. But possible on true fumes/vapor lol. I’ve had my Fx50S 2009 for seven years now, that number is pretty consistent over my time with my car. Your gas gauge is correct. I never use the center console gauge it’s not nearly as accurate as the one in front of your steering wheel. As you could see for yourself when it said zero miles to empty.
You know what I like about the fuelling on this vehicle? It has a large tank, so on long trips I am not forced to take many breaks. But holy Molly! 25 gallons to fill up was really stretching it. Was that intentional where you kept your trips close to home and potential help, or was it a trip through *Iowa* where highway exits with gas stations are few and far between?
I intend to take another trip during the course of the year where I'll test its road trip fuel economy, having allowed time for man and machine to learn each other. For now, I have some maintenance planned and just enjoy it for its handling and utility, which are a higher priority for me.
@@EdBwoy lol. I was on my way home from a long 500+ miles trip and refuse stop until I got close to home so it was stupid but on intentional like you I had just got the car a few months earlier and wanted to see how far she would take me. I may have got around 452 miles but I just knew I was going to have to call AAA but she took me all the way home and I stop at a gas station at my exit for home and that’s when she took 25 gallons. Needless to say I never did that again but it was like an adrenaline rush, my wife was yelling at me and everything. Why do we sometimes pissing our women off I don’t know but it was fun and funny I think she went into full on panic mode right before I pulled into the gas station. Wife ordered me to stop at that gas station when I off the exit. LMAO. (But I did)
I've found that I use the DTE just as a nice-to-have reference. It fluctuates considerably. I usually calculate the actual fuel consumption manually. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--PGReaR1R_0.html
You bought a FX50? Man those are hard to find like 08 09 M45 sport. Do they feel as quick as they claim? Apparently the 0 to 60 is quicker than all Infiniti cars.
They feel very quick. Since it is AWD, it launches like mad. But again, its a lot more raw of a car, the M56 is more isolated so you can be deceived. Launching the M56 is an interesting experience. It doesn't make much noise, but still pulls your face back and if you don't hold your phone tight, you'll be picking it up from the back seat
Hey, I came across your channel about 6 months ago looking for videos for my 2012 M37s I bought about a year ago, I pretty much went through all of your videos, I love the way you go in depth when explaining it makes it easy for us to understand. My wife has the 2012 F35 great vehicle so far no issues. I was always a BMW guy driving my wife FX over the years convinced me otherwise I live in Connecticut and went all the way to Atlanta to pick up my M37, I love this car and I'm keeping this one. My question to you... This car was a single owner, well kept and dealer serviced right up to purchase, looking at the Carfax and maintenance records it didn't show transmission oil change I currently at a105,000 do you recommend to change it or leave it alone? And if so what transmission oil do you recommend or stick with the dealer OEM transmission oil..Tthanks for making these videos they are very informative.
Thank you for the support Courtney. I too, look far and wide and have had to travel to get most of my vehicles, or ship them in sometimes. Regarding the transmission fluid, I still recommend replacement even at 105k. I find that the dealer offers the best value for the service. Service records, proper equipment & method and even time. Either Nissan or Infiniti can do it, but in my area, they are usually about the same cost (but only one of them offers a loaner, haha)
I noticed that you got over 200K on your odometer, I saw one online with over 200K, but I am hesitant to go get it. It's a good three hours drive. How many miles can these FX50 go up to?
Hey Michael, Yes indeed, I'm still enjoying it. I think it is a very good value for money, and with my experience these past few months, I would still buy it if the same circumstances were presented to me.
I have done it on previous cars. Usually, there are special clips that are used. Can you post a video here and link or, or send to me - facebook.com/EdBwoy.edu/
@@toonsszn8418 over time, I have acquired enough cars with these dipstick-less transmissions, that I am now considering investing in the tools and time to do it myself.
It's useless to count mpg or L/100 km. I drive this car(American model with dashboard in miles) in Europe where it's almost 2€ per liter and this car is doing around 16 L/ 100 km if I block trafic or 23 L/100km if I drive it as I should. Around 30 L/100km if I drive it for enjoyment. It's not a fuel economy car. It's a pleasure car, for me
