Great hitch, I’ve been using it on my buckstrap for climbing for about two months now. Paired with a CMI micro pulley it becomes as smooth as butter when tending slack and regains friction pretty much immediately. Great job!

That's excellent! I'm so excited to hear that yet another person has decided to try out and stick with one of my friction hitches! This friction hitch is definitely in my top 10 or 15 of all time that I've created! It's very simple, compact, grabs readily and, due to the knotting below the coil, it isn't very prone to binding! I often use it on my lanyard, or sometimes as my climbing hitch. Glad it's working so welll for you on your buckstrap for work positioning, and keeping you safe aloft! Spread the word! Thanks for letting me know, for updating me, for using one of my hitches, and for commenting! I appreciate it!

Thank you very much! It's definitely one of my favorite hitches that I've created and developed! =-D

Though older, it's still a good hitch. It's quick and simple enough in case of urgent need.

Well, it's old to me, but new to my viewers! It's easily one of my top 20 hitches (out of over 85+ in total) that I've created and developed! This one is particularly sweet because it can be tied in a regular length sewn or spliced eye to eye (between 28-32") and it is not nearly as complex as some of my other hitches! It also looks absolutely stunning, if I say so myself! Thanks for commenting!

7:13 I really enjoy your passion. I moved from VT because it needed a lot of space in rope wrench, and had a lot of setback. Michoacan was good, but bound tight, hard to tend after full loading... I'm using Calligraphy 2 mostly. When preparing your videos, I get frustrated by how much time you spend tweaking length. A dot on cord at top of hitch, when completed, would allow you to retire quickly. Showing the dot at start... for comparative length left right... would help. Then hitch couuuld be tied starting at top!!!?? I love your snap in videos...😊

I stopped using the VT for the exact same reason. It sprawls too much to be used with my rope wrench effectively and tons of setback. Michoacan isn't as good as my Calligraphy hitches in my opinion. Calligraphy 2 is an excellent choice because it's somewhere between a Calligraphy hitch and a VT with it's one braid. Sorry to frustrate you with all the length tweaking. I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive. As for your suggestion about the dot in the middle, that won't work because many of my hitches would use asymmetrical amoutns of cordage on either side. When I use a length of hitch cord, I'm usually not even trying to center it out (at least not on camera) because as long as I start mostly in the center, it'll turn out good enough for film (since the legs aren't visible below the shot). Whenever I tie a hitch with an actual eye to eye, I always try to get it even because it would look sloppy if I didn't and I learn where to begin (roughly) on the cord for each different hitch, but sometimes I forget. I would need a special, differently colored dot for each hitch that doesn't tie symmetrically and then all of my hitch cords would be polkadotted haha

The snap? Do you mean when I clap and remove things from the rope? That's sort of my signature thing. I'm not very good at editing videos, so I used a really old fashioned movie trick to make my videos unique. =-D

This is so bad. Everything about this video.

Your feedback isn't very helpful. It would be nice if you defined what, specifically, made it bad. Considering I almost never get bad reviews on my videos, I would appreciate it if you would explain why, please. This is actually one of my older videos, but I rediscovered it and decided to post it.

@@Knot-orious I missed the purpose of the knot near the beginning of the video. You said you've trusted your life to this knot, without any further details about that, and then you said you just liked it because it's different than others. Comments like that will get people killed. You didn't seem well routined in making this knot. And the video was way too long.

I think the real issue is that you don't understand what the knot is for. I tested and developed this knot heavily and you, too, can trust your life to it if you choose to, if you dress it and set it properly, and use it correctly. My channel typically requires some intermediate to advanced climbing knowledge. I apologize for not properly explaining the use for this knot. It is what's known as a "friction hitch," and it use a tool use for ascending and descending on a rope, whether in SRS (Stationary Rope System) or MRS (Moving Rope System) formation. It can also be used for rigging applications. Each leg that exits out of the hitch will have either a sewn, spliced or knotted (usually a Poacher's loop) eye, allowing for connection with a carabiner. Again, this is one of my older videos and, again, my channel most requires that my viewers have some preexisting knowledge about friction hitches, knots and tree climbing. I want my videos to be more beginner friendly and so, thanks to you making me more aware, I will work towards better explaining what a friction hitch is and how it works in more of my videos. Obviously, you can understand why I don't do this in every video: it would become really redundant and boring for those of my viewers who already understand what a friction hitch does and is for. I have created, developed and tested 85+ new and original friction hitches; all of which have at least one long form and one short form video on my channel. I am somewhat of an expert on friction hitches and my channel is partially dedicated to creating new ones, testing them, and sharing them with my viewers who love to hear about all the unique details of each hitch and who love to find hitches that perfectly fit their personalities and which are often better than the mainstream friction hitches that most climbers and riggers use. I'm sorry this video wasn't for you. You could have looked up "friction hitch" and better understood what this knot was for on your own. But I also could have done a better job of explaining it. Thank you again for your candid and honest feedback. You've helped open my eyes to some of the issue surrounding my video style as far attracting beginner level knot/hitch enthusiasts. Although your comment was negative, it has had a positive impact on me and will contribute to the betterment of my channel and my style of videography.
