My friend Max & I'd journey if building a beer pong table with an infinity mirror effect!
Music: / hoppy
-Build plans/details-
We didn't write down any measurements or details about anything but here's the basics of what we did:
All dimensions were based on the mirror. we started with a sliding closet door mirror that we found on sale and built the frame around that. We measured the mirror and then created a rectangle that fit the mirror using 2x10 boards.
Inside that frame we put some small brackets with wood to hold it in place. We then created a sandwich with the mirror on the bottom, then built the triangles using some smaller pieces of wood that sit directly on the mirror.
We then used 3 seperate LED strips for the lights. We have one strip that went along the inside of each triangle that are controlled by a button in line with the strip. The third string goes along the rest of the frame on the outside of the triangles and the sides. This strip is controlled via a wireless remote that is velcro'd to the bottom of the frame. All these strips are connected to a power strip mounted underneath the table so there is only one connector that needs plugged in.
The top is a piece of clear polycarbonate that we purchased from a local plastic sheet supplier. We then applied a one-way mirror film to the bottom of it to create the "infinity" effect you see in the finished product.
The legs were created just using more lumber and a simple H-frame design. They are held in place using some large bolts which can be removed allowing the legs to be folded up during transport.

Please see the description if you are wondering about details of the build. Unfortunately I don't remember all of the dimensions and we made up a lot as we went, so that is all I know!

Hey man, great table! Just a quick question, how well does the ball bounce on the plastic?
@Sibs
@Sibs 4 года назад
Not bad honestly, not as well as on something like wood, but it's comparable and you can still do bounce shots without any issues.

Hey man like the table. I just had a few questions. How thick of polycarbonate did you use. Did you use a high gloss finish or more flat color. And did you wrap the leds inside and out of the triangle or just the outer edge?
@Sibs
@Sibs 4 года назад
I believe it was 1/4" polycarbonate. Gloss finish and covered with the one way mirror film. Wrapped LEDs on both sides, inside and out.

Should it be mirror tint? Do you know does normal black window tint Works aswell?

Hi Alex, that table is dope I was wondering what that piece at 2:09 is used for on the table and why there were holes drilled into it.
@Sibs

We basically built a bracket so we could zip tie the electrical stuff on the bottom, makes it easier to transport.

Hey this is awesome and I'm trying to build my own! Where did you guys get the mirror and the glass to go over it
@Sibs
@Sibs 6 лет назад
Jason Downey we got the mirror on clearance at Lowe's, it was part of a sliding door closet mirror. The top is a polycarbonate that we got cut from a local seller in Dayton, it was also the most expensive part and the size depends on the size of the mirror so we saved it for last

Do you remember how you got the led lights to be one color on one triangle and another color on the opposite one?
@Sibs
@Sibs 5 лет назад
Three separate circuits, there is one for the background, and two individual ones for the triangles so they can each be different colors. We plugged in the three power cords to a power strip on the bottom so there's only one plug to power the whole thing.

Hey I love this. How much did this whole setup run you guys?
@Sibs
@Sibs 5 лет назад
Around $300, it all depends on how cheap you can find a mirror and the top plastic piece
@157sk8er
@157sk8er 5 лет назад
That’s not as bad as I thought. Could you send me the link to where you got the lights by any chance?
@Sibs
@Sibs 5 лет назад
@@157sk8er just search LED strip lights on Amazon, there's a huge variety so just pick what works for you. We got two 15' strands that were waterproof and that was plenty for us.

Which way did you put the film on, and how did you secure the polycarbonate on the board?
@Sibs
@Sibs 4 года назад
Film can go on either way, it doesn't matter. We drilled the polycarbonate on to the wood frame

Was the film you bought regular tint? Or was it special for plexiglass?
@Sibs

It's one way mirror film! Build details are in the description.

@Sibs

It's a polycarbonate plastic, doesn't scratch too bad

Where do you get the material for the top? It looks like a mirror tint?
@Sibs

It's a one way mirror film. You can order it online and some hardware stores carry it

They were just cheap led strand lights on Amazon

Why did you predrill holes in wood every inch apart? Where did you use this wood
@Sibs
@Sibs 3 года назад
We used that on the bottom as a sort of bracket to mount all of the electronics

Alex Sibila so underneath the table. Ok thx. I thought maybe it was used for the lighting to go through or for venting the heat from the lights. I greatly appreciate you responding immediately. I’ll send a picture of my completed table once finished.

what was that film that you were cover the top sheet with in the last part of the video?
@Sibs

It's one-way mirror film. So it allows light to pass through one way and reflects the other side.
