WOW! Avenger 3 is finally here! This was so epic!
I can only use 10 minutes of copyright content. This took 2 days to edit and I put a lot a love into this... it was hard to take out so many scenes! Even editing everything down to the major parts.. it still was 40 minutes long! ... It really killed me to take out so much... even just the small emotional scenes... but believe me, I tried so many different ways to make this work and flow well... and this was the best result I could do combining both the movie and best reactions.
There were so many great Gamora scenes (and yes, the kiss as well), but there wasn't much reacting there and it was too abrupt in between the scenes I left in. The humor with our fav guardians I tried to keep in as well... but it just took up too much time.
The whole scene with Doctor Strange and Iron Man in the beginning took up the entire 10 minutes... pretty much all the fighting sequences took up a ton of time...
Even Kim and Mom recognizing 'Tyrion' as the giant dwarf! That was fun, but alas, I had to take that out due to time... anywho, point being, I tried!

I think the point of Loki's death was that it was SUPPOSED to be anticlimatic and ignominious. Thanos doesn't care how much you loved Loki or how he deserved an epic sendoff. You cross him, god or mortal, he squeezes you throat until you stop breathing.

The best thing about this movie? It's not an Avengers movie, it's Thanos's movie. Russo brothers have some balls to give the main role to a villain in a movie with so many popular heroes, and it paid off amazingly. Brilliant directors, made three films in MCU, and all three are at my top 3.

@Marky pop Hmm I'd say it's a bit different. The movie didn't really spend time fleshing out Joker's backstory, or spend time trying to make the audience empathize with him. He was 100% the antagonist. The audience was always rooting against him. What made the Joker so great was how he is the perfect antithesis to Batman. And the movie did a fantastic job of using Joker to remind the audience that the stakes are very real. And the only way to defeat Joker was for Batman to suffer and grow as a character and a hero. Joker was the sole catalyst that turned Bruce Wayne into the Dark Knight.

Wasn't the Russo's though I love those guys but they just directed. Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus are the writers and should get their credit. They actually wrote 3 of what most consider the best MCU films Winter soldier, Civil War, Infinity War(they also did 1st Avenger all Cap films and Thor 2)

But isn't that the whole point of the hulk? He comes out when Banner is angry or threatened? This reason doesn't make sense to me, it sounds like they made this up to justify the stupidity of the hulk hiding, better they said it was because he got beaten up by Thanos. Why would the hulk hide because he's tired of being used 🤔 so he's gonna risk Banner dying just to not be used. To me they used this "hiding" to further the plot for the next part of this movie where the hulk will suddenly have a conscience and make an appearance.

Mel Lynch They seem to have made a conscious choice in Phase Three to make the Hulk more independent from Banner. This was the case in Thor: Ragnarok as well. Hulk chose to stay Hulk for 2 years even when there was no threat anymore, and then refused to come out at first when Banner jumped down to the bridge. So Hulk was already rebelling against Banner, and then he gets his ass kicked by Thanos and he’s just like “Fuck it, I’m not putting up with THIS shit!”, which is an anger driven reaction that makes sense. If the Hulk is all anger, why wouldn’t he eventually get mad at Banner at some point? It’s character growth. The Hulk has become wise enough to know that Banner is the one making him do this, whereas usually the Hulk is just a mindless anger machine that awakens when Banner gets angry and then goes back to sleep, leaving no time to learn, grow, mature, etc. But after spending 2 years awake, he smartened up. Now Banner is gonna have to level with him as a fellow intelligent consciousness before they can work together. It’s different, but the problem with Hulk as a character is that he was never all that interesting. This is at least interesting.

When I first saw Rocket cry "No ...no ...no,no,no " I broke hard in tears because that brought me back into the day my biological father passed away . That scene with Rock is so hard to watch if you have seen both GUARDIANS vol 1 and 2 and you remember he went through this once before with adult Groot and now he went again but it was with teenage Groot .

Why can't anyone let Wanda be happy? First her parents, then the two days spent trapped under the bed staring at a bomb, then the being manipulated by Hydra into volunteering for the experiments, then the being manipulated by Ultron, then she not only lost Pietro but actually felt him die, then the guilt she feels over both what happened in Sokovia and Nigeria, then the being arrested and put in a straight jacket, and now loosing Vision twice in one day......why can't someone just give her a break? She's paid for her mistake, over and over again, why can't anyone just give her a chance to live a peaceful life?

Ben Hammel The whole film spends time undermining the growth of many of the characters. Loki does the right thing - dies. Thor does the right thing after obtaining his throne and loses everything he has except for his life. Spiderman does the right thing and dies a more miserable death than any of the other fingersnap victims. Quill does the right thing and Thanos turns it into a joke - bubbles. That's also why he (and Thor) make emotional, brash decisions later - they made the right choice and still lost. Wanda, Vision, T'Challa, Strange, all did the right thing as informed by previous or current character growth and they all died. Thanos outlines it in the beginning - "In time you will know what it's like to lose, to feel so desperately that you're right yet to fail all the same. Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives." Doing the right thing isn't always enough to win because sometimes the villain thinks they're doing the right thing too and Thanos was the protagonist of this film.

Great reactions, the ending leaves you feeling empty and hopeless, usually there is a glorious applause at the end of Marvel films especially Avengers and when the credits rolled no one said a thing nor did anyone clap, everyone just sat in disbelief, not many directors can make such an impact like that especially considering the MCU is usually upbeat even in dark times.

we know what is gonna happen because the movie is based on the comics and theres some ways that can end but in the final every person killed by thanos are gonna comeback because the infinity stones can do that, and by the way don't get shocked if you see an enemy of the avengers of the previous movies to take the infinity stones when thanos get killed/arrested

i know it's some different of the comics but no all differente thats the important, and in the comics are different outcomes for thanos. for example there is not a squirrel girl in the mcu, but in the many comics of infinity war different heroes defeat thanos so in the movies you can expect something similar, not equal but similar

I think Thor, Gamora, and Thanos were the MVP's. Thor has such a great arc to continue his story after Ragnarok. Gamora was easily most improved from before with the backstory with Thanos. And Thanos is of course the protagonist and holds the story together. Tony Stark was amazing, but he's always amazing. Strange was better than his own movie too.

I've had to come to terms with developing an enormous man-crush on Thor over the last few movies, and from reading the comics. Movie Thor is now fully-leveled-up Thor. Five movies he's been in and I want to see more. The Avengers in the comics use Thor as a kind of trump card: they only trot him out when things are good and truly fucked. At the end of Secret Invasion, Nick Fury has one of my favorite lines: "yeah? *MY* god has a hammer."

Hulk wasn’t afraid, though. He was tired of being Banner’s fog on a chain, to command whenever he was in a tight spot. After being free for 2 years, Hulk got a taste of what he was missing, too. As Banner says near the end that he & Hulk have to work it out.

"Oh his bare hands?! He's so brave." I have honestly seen this film dozens of times. Especially the Final Act with Thanos arriving in Wakanda and him just destroying the Avengers without breaking a sweat. But as many times as I have seen this film, the moment where it's Captain America vs. Thanos. The thought of Captain America trying to stop him with just his bare hands and how brave that was. His fellows Avengers has powers, abilities and tech way beyond what Cap has and they were destroyed easily. But even when seeing that, he still tries to face off against Thanos, with not even his Shield. I never thought about looking at it in that way. You just made that scene soooo much cooler to me. That's why I love this channel so much.

That's what some people tend to forget - Steve *IS NOT* "superhuman" in that sense. He may appear as such to the average person because of how much stronger and faster he is than any normal human, but IIRC, the Super Soldier serum merely took the human body to its ultimate peak, but still "human" (while also amplifying other traits, hence why Steve is still otherwise normal-looking as opposed to Schmidt becoming the Red Skull), basically what humans could potentially become after probably millions of years of evolution if we lasted that long. On the other end, you got Tony achieving a similar thing through his tech. It's stuff like that that is why Thanos outright tells Tony, "You have my respect, Stark." Similar to other big "against the odds" last stands like the Spartan 300 and their Greek supporters against the much more massive Persian military or various battles of WWI, II, and such - fighting with everything they had while knowing they will most likely lose, but not caring because they're fighting for something much bigger than themselves.

Now having just seen _Endgame,_ and there completed the MCU franchise, I can happily say that _Infinity War_ has recently become one of my all-time favorite MCU films ever, mainly for just how epic and cosmic it really is, and how it had actually managed to live up to the several-year hype that had been building up to it, even Thanos lived up to his potential as a huge cosmic threat and the Avengers' biggest foe ever, he has certainly become my #1 favorite MCU villain out of the bunch, it is also quite possibly Josh Brolin's very-best acting performance. And yes, the ending as well, wow, I commend the filmmakers for actually having the balls to go with that ending, further helped by the fact that it was the first-half of an epic two-parter.

The other gutsy move that played out so well was that Infinity War, while being an Avengers movie, is undeniably Thanos's film. The narrative AND the conflict all centered around him. He had a quest, and a goal. Thanos was the protagonist of the story; everything focused on him and his actions. The Avengers were just the obstacle in the way of the goal. And damn if that didn't play out spectacularly. After being in the dark for such a long time, making Thanos the through-line and central focus of Infinity War was the *_perfect_* way to introduce him. Not just that, but also having him as a protagonist *_succeed_* at his quest. The irony is, once you know Thanos is the protagonist, the story structure itself is basically a Hero's Journey. That's the way it was structured. Funnily enough, the only reason we don't side with the "hero" of the story is simply because we've been with the "antagonists" of the story far longer. The only reason we sympathize with the Avengers as the antagonists and not Thanos as the protagonist is because we've had it framed for years as Thanos being the villain, and the Avengers being the hero. It's just so narratively intriguing that they did a Hero's Journey narrative centering around our villain protagonist, and we actively cheer for the protagonist to fail, and hate when the protagonist succeeds. By all means, conventionally with story structure, you'd be siding with the protagonist; yet Infinity War sets it up in such a way that you almost get repulsed by the Hero's Journey of it all. It's such an amazing narrative angle.

+Pink Diamond, *_Yes,_* I agree a lot, the way Thanos was framed as the Protagonist Villain was perfect, it actually did a much better job with its color-skinned CGI villain with a motivation than it did for someone like Apocalypse or Steppenwolf, who were portrayed as more mundane and formulaic. What did they want out of the destruction? "We are looking for the strongest"/"Mother is calling" Okay, fine. But with Thanos, we are given a crystal-clear (and even tragic) motivation and end-result he wants, "Too many mouths to feed, resources finite. It needs correction." At least Thanos had a very good reason for wanting to wipe out 50% of life, he's a Malthusian type. I have to say again, I really love your point, I want your quote framed on the walls of everyone working on comic-book movies. *;)*

@@DemonBoy3223 Indeed! It's also interesting to me that we actually actively *_see_* his "hero's quest" succeed. The only Infinity Stone we don't see him get in Infinity War is the Power Stone, which he starts out with. Each Act structure has two Stones in it. The first Act had Thanos with the Power Stone and gaining the Space Stone. Then the second Act had Thanos gain the Reality Stone and the Soul Stone. The final Act had him gain the Time Stone and the Mind Stone. It relays perfectly with that narrative structure; in fact, we even get a "hero almost loses" scene in the climax of the second Act, with the space team pinning him down on Titan. You could even argue he had a love interest (in Gamora, platonically), and a comic relief sidekick (Ebony Maw more specifically) that fits with the story structure. We even get to see the motivations every step of the way as he completes the quest, as well as see him get a "happy ending". Funnily enough, Tony is actually Thanos's foil to a T. They were purposefully paralleled every step of the way; even to the point that they both became the textbook definitions of tragic heroes. It's all so well-written... man, I could analyze it all day.

As an amateur movie critic on RU-vid myself, I am currently writing the script for my movie review for _Infinity War,_ and there I intend to discussing about Thanos thoroughly and extensively, such as what makes him so special now. The writers, Markus & McFeely, and the Russo Bros have certainly succeeded in making him "the Darth Vader of the MCU".
