@@laur83yes some do but a lot of it is drop shipped garbage and to be honest I found that genuine small businesses were advertising before Tiktok shop so it all depends on looking into the businesses that you are buying from instead of just hitting pay right away which a lot of people have a problem with doing. people I know will be like oh I got scammed on shein or temu & it’s because they’re not reading the reviews or the description and that’s kind of on them.
Bingo! My thing is, I wouldn't promote anything I wouldn't already be promoting irl to people I love. That's the difference between a lot of us regular folks vs influencers. It's a fr job to them.
Avon/MaryKay/Tupperware/Arbon or pretty much every single MLM ever invented. Which, wild thing, I recently learned there were crystalware MLM's back in the day.
the same influencers who canceled shein and refused to buy from there are the same ppl obsessed w buying stuff on TikTok shop when it’s literally the same thing
Exactly! I’ve never understood how people can go on Amazon or Tiktok shop and pay quadruple the price of a drop shipped item they could’ve just bought on shein or Temu and go on and on about how theyll never use shein or temu. I get not wanting to use those websites but it’s extremely hypocritical
@@KristenZianourry2015 Amazon is flooded with drop ship garbage now, people have lowered their standards on products because of it. I miss seeing reliable brands in the top search results. I like long lasting products and have found many great things at thrift stores instead.
I mean, that's really not the point of this video, it's just exposing a company's shady business tactics (?). You ARE completely right, like I'm sick of that weird Makayla lady, but the fact that this comment literally does not relate to the video at all is kind of annoying.
the thing that gets me with the peach fuzz spray is that it looks SO DRY. youre supposed to shave WET!!! this spray is a one way ticket to a cut up face!!!
exactly. and they do it with face razors that have little ridges on them. you are always supposed to shave your face with a completely smooth straight razor. the ridges create tiny little micro cuts all around your face. If yall are gonna do the thing pls do actual research not someone trying to make a buck. try a dermatologist or estheticians videos
I literally put cleanser on my face then shave my face with a dermaplaning tool and I find since I’ve started doing that I’ve had no cuts or nicks on my face
I don’t even have tik tok but I love the draaaama on it but then I think of all the innocent people getting scammed by influencers on it and on the internet in general hurts my heart
I know... I don't have a TikTok (and I'm thankful for it), but I still watch all the drama videos. Maybe it makes me feel vindicated about never getting an account lol But also when I tell my friends who are on TikTok that I don't have an account, even they say, "Good. Don't get one." Honestly it seems like a dumpster fire Not that I'm not somewhat addicted to RU-vid shorts lol
I love tiktok, if you use it in a way that benefits you it is a nice app, a lot of comedy, educational ressources like mechanic, math and history learning and so on, It is also a good place for local somewhat unbiased and direct news for people in need to be heard from. It helps nobody to obssess over the negative aspects of every low level threats, find solutions, educate, move on.
Exactly! That’s why I don’t get people defending her in the comments because why are you promoting a product you didn’t look into? if she would’ve done the slightest bit of research before posting that video she would’ve saw a lot sooner that it was a drop shipped item
Literally! And they are quadruple the price that they would pay on Temu. One time I went to buy a pencil case on Amazon but before purchasing it I thought let me run this through Temu and AliExpress to see if it’s drop shipped turned out it was and I was about to pay triple the price for something I could’ve got on temu.
@@berry6467 I buy from there all the time. Everything is what it’s advertised. Obviously I stay away from things that looks too good to be true. But kitchen stuff, stationery things, even bags, they have been solid and less expensive than Amazon. Just don’t download the app and use your web browser on your phone or computer to shop if you are worry about them stealing your info and selling it.
I swear… you can’t escape the commercials…you see everywhere these „true recommendation“ or commercials. Its so sick that you are constantly fed with these influencers or celebs that just try to shove down the „New“ solution for our problems…that aren’t even real…like girl let us breath!!!
The lesson here is: Do your research before supporting any brand. (If you genuinely care and want to only support brands who are supportive). Especially, important to research before supporting & then promoting a brand to the public.
can we just stop finding ourselves """""problems to fix"""" about our faces when peachfuzz is literally THE MOST NATURAL THING i'm so done with beauty standards fr *** lil edit - i have no problem with shaving when it's used for skin exfoliation, BUT it's not how the product is marketed, nor how influencers promote it and *that* is my problem. It creates insecurities we didn't even know about
@@Ethieth it's not about forcing people, it's about enforcing and encouraging a new unrealistic unnecessary beauty standard. It only creates more consumerism and more body issues. You don't even have to shave anything on your body, not even armpits or legs. The only hairless people are children.
@@Ethieth While true, you don't think promoting unreal beauty standards is a problem? What's more, shaving your armpits, legs, or bikini area is a lot different from shaving off barely perceptible fuzz off your face.
Not to play devils advocate here, but there is nothing unreal about shaving peach fuzz; furthermore, some people have darker and thicker hair than others hence making it more visible. While there is nothing wrong with that, they might not feel comfortable with it and decide to shave it. There is nothing wrong with people doing what they want with their own bodies.
Yes agreed. It’s so cloudy chasing and she has no regard for the people she is selling to. She doesn’t care if it is a good product or not. Just if it makes her money. Same with her blush look. So cringe.
As someone with adhd and a huge problem with social media and shopping habits, I'm a bit proud of myself that I never got into tiktok. Also, I'm glad that in my country, there's no tiktok shop.
I know you didn't mean it like this but I'm laughing cause of how you said to put cornstarch first then go buy a razor you'll go to CVS like 🎅🤣 nah fr this or baby powder 🤷♂️
Omg this Rachel girl is so annoying. I just feel she's trying SO hard to go viral. not to mention I'm convinced she's changing her voice in a form of rage baiting.shes giving me Dr Phill vibes and I can't get past it.
She has the right to make the buyers aware that she’s not as rich as they may think from the sales. She has every right to use this scam opportunity and make herself viral. Every influencer is on this platform to build themselves.
I get offered products to promote on my tiktok all the time since I have 29.7k, but I refuse to become an advertiser for lame and cheap products not worth anything.
@@thatchick1205 such a compliment, thank you!! she seemed to actually really like the product so I respect promoting items that you actually like. from what I saw, I was getting offered like $2.50 to promote random jars of face cream and I was like omg no that’s unethical to promote random untested and unproven products to apply to your face.
i think if you’re someone who likes the results dermaplaning gives and you feel it benefits you, then you should continue. but nobody should feel pressured into shaving any part of their face either.
Please explain? Lots of people shave. You can always replenish your barrier. How would it explicitly be ruined? Some people respond to physical exfoliants, some don't. I cut physical exfoliants for a little over a year and subbed chemical because it became a trigger topic much like "ftagrance-free." My skin was so happy when I switched back to physical exfoliants once or twice a month.
Funny how the influencers are outraged when THEY get scammed, BUT when we the followers are being scammed every single day because they refuse to disclose per the FTC LAWS, it’s okay?! Cry me a river, I don’t feel sorry at all. They deserve to get a taste of their own medicine ‼️‼️‼️🤣🤣🤣🤣
Now i'm kinda curious about talcum content and if it is asbestos free, cause if it is dropshipped, it can be really dangerous product if it is not properly handled in manufacture.
If I was Rachel, id check the agreement and I’d be taking legal action. The company shouldn’t be getting away with not paying people the commission they earned and if they aren’t even a reputable company, who knows what else they lie about. If she can do something, she 1000% should.
TikTok shop is so ghetto I ordered something on there received the incorrect order and they didn’t want to exchange for the correct one and told me to post a promotion video to get the correct item sent and I rejected so I sent the item back and they gave me a refund I left a anonymous review because they weren’t helpful and they haven’t stopped harassing me since to take down my review
Hey y’all it’s not just TikTok shop! I buy my nail stuff straight from the manufacturers so I see immediately what’s drop shipped here. Do your research! Especially since places like Etsy are no longer about handmade stuff anymore unfortunately. It’s everywhere
I’m a brand owner on TikTok shop, and it genuinely isn’t the brands fault if the commissions don’t work :/ all of the affiliate links and TikTok shop creator funds are through TikTok. TikTok has had SO many bugs just from the brand side also, but it’s honestly to be expected since TikTok shop is still fairly new and isn’t even in all countries yet. That said this mega sucks but it’s genuinely not the brands fault :/ TikTok shop support is also pretty terrible. They’re so strict on the policies from a brand side as well, so if for example you have 10 orders marked as “late” when you shipped them already, and TikTok has a bug and it doesn’t update, unless you appeal directly with tiktok, it’s automatically my shops fault and I can get banned over something so small. Anyway long story short she should really take this up with TikTok, not against the brand, the way they reacted wasn’t ideal honestly, but this money never touches the brand. It goes directly into TikTok “payouts” where our sales taxes, shipping, affiliate commissions, and platform fees get taken out. If you have any q’s about this I’m happy to share along with any screenshots of what it looks like from the brand side
@@RinsDeskfor a marketplace that’s still pretty new, but tbh I feel like they tried to grow this section of their business way too fast before good systems were set in place.
I’m confused just because people watched the video how does that translate in sales… it looks like a horrible product I would never dry my skin out like that
Another thing that pisses me off about TikTok shop is a lot of the people I see advertising the products are people who are genuinely in a bad space and need money. One of my mutuals on TikTok is living paycheck to paycheck in a sober hotel in Vegas and they’re doing TikTok shop to get free things so they don’t have to pay for them. It’s people like him that are constantly on the brink of homelessness because they only have money for rent and that’s it that are finding Tiktok shop to be a way to make ends meet. But when hasn’t capitalism prayed on the poor
I’m sorry but the British TikTok is full of videos of people tryin to sell: ugly dresses for £7, 96 rolls of toilet paper for 9,99, or makeup brushes like it’s 2016… TikTok needs to stop this
Amazon has the same problem. I was gonna buy a pencil case I found but then last minute I decided to run it through Temu and AliExpress and you know what it was on there fraction of the price that it was being sold for on amazon.
I have a tik tok shop where I sell my handcrafted unique bath, body and skincare. Their entire platform is a nightmare. They push all the drop shipping junk over real small makers of quality stuff.
Same! I do this too on Amazon. I’m not clicking on ANY influencers links. They’re refusal to follow FTC guidelines and laws tell me every I need to know about them and their motives!
I only used tiktok during the quarantine, and now whenever I feel nostalgic for it these kinda stories come out so I don't regret deleting the app at all.
I genuinely feel like 2021 was the last time this app was great. BUT it was alright till about Summer of 2022. Since then, It’s just been one big commercial for me. Haven’t used TikTok since January. I don’t miss it.
This makes me think of my health insurance issue-my pharmacy blamed my insurance, my insurance blamed my doctor, my doctor blamed my pharmacy and I ended up going 3 days without medication I take daily and had horrible headaches all 3 days. It took 6 phone calls and a lot of holding to straighten out an issue that no one claimed was their fault but then magically my script was ready at the pharmacy a few days later.
Ok I have about the same amount of followers she has and my only hang up on this is that I was under the belief TikTok handles the commissions and it’s all done on the apps side of things. The company sounds like it could be predatory (a lot in the shop are) but I’m not sure how they’d be able to remove her commissions. I am curious how the engagement was on the video because TikTok may push these videos but the engagement ends up super low normally because people don’t actually watch them. And TikTok is known for being TERRIBLE about their creator support so I have to wonder if the app was the original at fault party….
Kinda hard to "vet" brands when you actually want to buy their product. I've been on the hunt for a similar spray since I'm also in Canada and can't use the ship
Thankfully we don't have tiktok shop in Canada. My american friends are always talking about their tiktok shop hauls and it all looks like dropshipped garbage. But I don't blame them for buying it, I would too. It's like how I was having multiple amazon packages delivered every day 😂
It's not even a brand. I searched the spray on Taobao and Shopee which are both Asian B2C platforms and it's there for cheap. The "brand" is a dropshipping business. She won't be getting money from these people.
"hair identifier spray" ????? Okayyyy 🧐🙄 The company bringing a suit against her - she can easily prove they never paid her, they can't prove they did unless they fudge it, so how is it slander or whatever they're claiming for her to tell the truth about their scamming her?
Why does the blush girl look like someone else is behind her and using their hands to talk. Like she sounds like Dr Phil and she's swinging her hands the whole time
I haven't used TikTok since 2020 but I hear about so much drama simply due to the crazy things going on in the app. People just genuinely forgot how to not overshare, I don't understand how people can put their entire lives on display. No matter how many warnings you may tell someone not to do something simply due to the fact of how dangerous it is people don't care as long as they go viral or get attention. While going viral used to be a big thing farther back as well, it was more natural and wasn't forced, no one was getting harmed because why would you recreate something so dumb?
I bought 90% of my Christmas gifts from TikTok shop. Out of the almost 100 items I bought, only had an issue 1 brand. Some of those, I was shipped MULTIPLES, I’m guessing since TikTok shop was so new, they couldn’t handle the overwhelming amount of orders they received.
They think she's young and naive and so the brand thought they could scare her with the threat of suing her when she could have them jailed for fraud. Always consult an attorney, people. Don't let companies roll over you.
Man what sucks I’m in TTS too, sadly sometimes glitches happen. It happened to me this past weekend while doing 1+ hr live stream which had over 3K views and lots of people checking things out in the cart which I was promoting. I get off live and realized none of the data from the streams were showing. In fact it was completely gone you can’t even see it as a shop live. I had to submit IT ticket and still no responses from TikTok. I’m pretty bummed because I felt it was a good live and I was sure I’d have a decent amount of sales 😢. But this video situation is beyond outrageous! So the brand does need to approve you to make commission off a shoppable video. I almost wonder if maybe she only choose the item from her purchase items listed, verse selecting from market place which then request brand approval. Once you have brand approval you can start making commissions. Either way it would suck, but I kinda think this might be the issue/glitch. 😢
I’ve been over them. I do not follow any influencers. Pretty rare flex. And I’m a 2001. Kind of sad. I’ve never bought anything from any influencers. Never been influenced. It’s time to take our brains back.
This is crazy. I’ve deff had some less than desirable interactions with TT Shop sellers, but for other reasons. I made over $20k in a month from a video that got 4.5M views though, and sellers CAN change your commission amount without your knowledge but I don’t even know how this could have been possible 😳
Stop giving that rage baiter a platform I’m so over all these influencers using rage bait just to get quick virality . It’s the lowest form of content imo
I’ve scrolled through the TikTok shop a couple times but I’ve never actually bought anything. Looks like I won’t be starting anytime soon. But I can’t lie, the buldak ramen is tempting.
Depending on where you are it might be in a nearby grocery store! Like for me it's in Walmart and I live in practically the middle of nowhere. If it isn't, I'd go check a local Asian or Korean grocery store, you might find it there.
