It feels like an american thing, because the country is so rich and big, that a very small percentage of Americans have the subconscious idea that USA is the whole world. Americans still say passive aggressive comments like “oh I thought they did this everywhere because they do in America”. Obviously it’s not all of them and I know some great people from there but the stereotype hasn’t really been a stereotype when I meet them.
hmmmm. you guys do realize America has over 330 million people from all over the world? higher education in the US draws educators and students from all over the world. I'm pretty sure 'most Americans' understand the concept of a global community.

I just think we need to change the systems that allow a few people at the top to make billions while some people work 2 jobs yet are unable to afford the necessities of life. Trickle down economics doesn't work. I work as a DSW (most people don't know what that is- basically I support people with developmental and intellectual disabilities) and they are treated like garbage by society and the government. People will imply that they are "the deserving poor" and deserve welfare, but disability doesn't give nearly enough money to have a halfway decent life, and nobody in power seems to care.

When she tried with twitter there was an American Trans Woman who was already using that handle and her team offered like $400 for it. She politely declined to their offer and when they kept insisting she still refused and then asked for $400K thinking they would stop trying. She went on to (low key) ask her fans to bully her and they all tried to report her account so she would be kicked out of X. It was a mess and so freaking disgusting
