I know Bali is overhyped! But I still want to visit at least for a few weeks this year to see it for myself! Do you have any recommendations of other islands nicer than Bali to visit in Indo?

It is overhyped! But also for good reason, it is amazing here, especially if you avoid some of the tourist traps, definitely go check it out for yourself! - I love the Gili Islands, but they are also pretty touristy. In the coming months, Ill hopefully explore Lombok, Flores and Sumba, so keep an eye out!

My favourite place in Bali was Amed with Uluwatu being okay too. Nusa Penida and Gili Air were also two really nice islands.

I've spent a year in Indonesia and haven't gone to Bali yet for a lot of the reasons you mentioned. I subscribed to your channel and hope you share the other side of Bali.

I spent a lot of time in Jakarta area which i like. Way too many Influencers in Bali lately so i haven't been in 20 years. It just seems way more expensive now for all the touristy stuff. Sad about all the trash. =( Yes always deals if you stay off the trendy spots. =)

Well for me it is too hot. I like places cooler than 25C and maybe cooler depending on the humidity 😊

Fair point! Then it's definitely too hot for you. I do agree, around 25C is perfect. But I prefer 30C over -5C any day 😅 (that's currently how the weather looks like back home in Denmark)

want to hear something interesting. all Indonesians live on islands so beaches or mountains are boring. when local tourists from other areas come to Bali. We came to meet Bule and take as many photos as possible for social media. and try western foods that are impossible in other provinces😂😂

1:10 i think is foto is true but 30 year ago. When not many tourist. Is better to go to other islands like Lombok or Komodo if you want to see a place that is quieter from tourists and trash

Agree soo much with this, people complain about places being touristy when they never leave the main beach clubs and western cafes. Felt the same way about Tulum, we stayed in the middle of the jungle in 2021, and 2022, ate local food, explored lagoons and it was amazing - however, if we'd stayed in the main hotel zone we would have paid 50 USD for a tasteless burrito.

Influencers are NOT WRONG. They build a hype around something that Is trending and they are not thinking about how you as viewer and potential tourist can be affected by this reality. they take the money, make nice videos and run.

Bali is indeed overyhyped and overrated. Dirty alot of thrashed, traffic jammed, and the beach are not even that great. Garbage everywhere. Maybe the goodthing of Bali is you have to experience some other culture and some greenery on the nature but overall it's a bit overhype. It's just a normal destination nothing surprising in your eyes.

Perhaps you misunderstood. The traffic IS horrible - in the very touristy areas (Im pretty sure I say this?). Go outside of those and it's really not an issue. Most content about Bali depict only the very touristy areas, I try to advocate that people can have a much better experience in other areas - one reason being, that the traffic is better.
