A majority of SAPI 4 voices do work on modern Windows, it's the SAPI 5 voices that can sometimes be a pain. Infovox 4 comes in both SAPI 4 and 5, but the SAPI 5 versions are only compatible with Windows XP. SAPI 4, however, is still fully compatible, as explained in my first movie length video of Microsoft Sam and his fellow TTS Voices.
Are you sure that Infovox4 has Sapi4 support? I think that the last Infovox version that had Sapi4 was Infovox3. Infovox3 however is the only Infovox version that I don't have. I really want to find it, because I think that the voices sounded better in Infovox3 compared to Infovox4. When Infovox4 was new, I think it came in 2014, it was more like Infovox3, so I am also searching for an old version of Infovox4.
@@theworldofspeechsynthesize7548 Actually, never mind, those voices are Infovox 3 voices. None of the Infovox 4 installers have been leaked, sadly, and Acapela has discontinued the Windows version of this software recently.
@@theworldofspeechsynthesize7548 Also, how did you get these to work without acquiring a license? I was able to get Infovox 2 with some patching, but not with Infovox 3. It appears the voices do not appear in any SAPI applications or refuse to run from the speak application if the voices are unlicensed. I tried to put the Infovox 2 patch to Infovox 3 and that didn't work.
Okay, this is not related to this video, but have you ever heard of commentary screen reader? It's a screen reader for android by the way. If so, well, I know it's a screen reader developed in China, but that's not the point of this comment. Well, commentary screen reader does not come with an english TTS, though you can still use it in english with whatever TTS you normally use. The reason I'm making this comment, is because, well, in the future, commentary screen reader would most likely eventually get a new TTS engine that actually is in English. Wouldn't be surprised if it did, though. Considdering how many people that use commentary screen reader in English these days, and how much the developers are updating it, it wouldn't surprise me. But, for some stupid reason, once commentary screen reader gets a new TTS in english, I'm worried that once it comes out, the new voice would sound like the sapi5 version of Microsoft Sam, but worse! Although, that probably won't happen these days, but still. Like, I'm worried it would sound very compact, kinda like vocalizer compact but a worse quality. Like, think of it ike vocalizer compact, sounds worse than Sapi5 Microsoft Sam, and just something way worse than 2 different synthesizers all at once that just doesn't sound that good. I know that the developers of commentary screen reader haven't even done the updates in terms of TTS, but, you never know. But I'm still nervous about that. But if it ends up sounding like that, well, oh well.
I have heard about that screen reader, but I have never tried it. I hope that the english voice will sound better than compact vocalizer voices. I agree with you that they sound very bad.
