Ingalls peak South Ridge: My First Alpine Trad Lead 

On October 1st, we found ourselves on the classic South Ridge of Ingalls Peak in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. This was an excellent climb for our first alpine trad lead. We opted for the 5.6 crack variation. Since this climb is so awesome, it tends to be very busy. We went late in the afternoon hoping to avoid the crowds, but we still had to wait on several parties coming down. We ended up summiting at sunset (which was epic) and rappelling down in the dark. (A little sketch) Overall a super fun and beautiful climb! I highly recommend Ingalls for a relatively easy trad climb. But make sure to bring your rock shoes!
