Considering how strong tree roots are and the fact they will frow through almost anything i would not want to live anywhere near that vertical forest.....
I love the vertical forest. It is simply the most beautiful skyscraper I have ever seen. Simply brilliant That alone deserves a thumbs up from me (and I must say boo hiss to the 140 thumbs down)
I wonder how much hydro-carbon based energy is used in making and transporting those turbine rotor blades and how long the turbines have to operate efficiently in order to cancel out the environmental costs of production.
Apart from the extra load, the irrigation, the corrosion, the insects, all the dead leafs blocking the drains, and all the dead branched flying off in the wind.
Although I'm sure they factored in the weight of the trees and water retention into the load of the building I can't see how they reasonably considered tree branches falling off of the building on to people and property on the ground or even against other buildings nearby.
I just realized something I should have thought of about these treed up buildings. Those trees better be fully grown at the time of planting. Otherwise the roots will, they will eventually break through the concrete. The deciduous trees will be worse as they will send out feeler roots a lot more often. Also, the weight of the trees as they grow. Trees get their mass from three things, the oxygen in the soil, the water they get and the carbon dioxide in the air. This idea just seems bad to me, but I need more info on the plants used.
And what about deadfall? I have lots of trees in my yard and branches are dying and falling off all the time, especially in storms. From the height of the top floor of that building that could literally kill people or destroy cars down below! Is there going to be insurance for that? Amazing! What were they thinking?
To be fair this is probably as close to accurate as he managed in the whole video. It took ten seconds to lift the rig....but the whole operation to lift it onto the ship ready to set sail for dismantling took two days. I've really got to stop watching these crappy videos.
Idc what it cost if owned a boat you wouldn't catch me chop shopping one... man that's a scary thought... one bad monday morning weld and a bad storm and say bye bye
Vertical forest, let's see how this looks like in ten years. Trees might die, become too big, heavy storms cause damage, or, the owner realizes that it is very expensive to maintain.
2:50 why did they drive up that crazy mountain road when theres a nice smooth highway right next to the spot they are building them... i wonder if they got there and were like "oh...a road"
The paved road you're referring to wouldn't likely be able to take the weight, length and/or height of the trucks. Regardless of how quick, simple and easy the video made it look, each of those trucks took a very precisely mapped route to get from origine to destination and the planning for that move would have taken Months if not a year or 2...
They could pay me plenty of money. As youll notice..because you sound kind of intelligent..theres no cab. He even said its all done remotely. But hey..if you cant handle a remote control pass it to me, i will :)
Isn't it in Autumn and winter, these tree high risers, would only too easily become fire torches. I see pretty much a stick wrapped with fuel, waiting to burn bright. Dangerous right?
Wouldn't it be better and faster to use a wrecking ball to crush those cooling towers?? And they can swing it from the outside so the rocks will fall on the inside
Super cool. Why not just create a piece of forest or greenery in the middle of high rise buildings? Much more habitable, better space feel, air flow and allow people to rest ...
I don't know any Blade over 30 tons and there around 70m long and build much bulkier. I've transported blades with a length of 62.5m an they weren't heavier than 18t.
Maybe there is another advantage also , that the high building is not so visible ,,because I never saw yet a beautiful high rise building. All suffer from ugliness.
Vertical forest looks like a maintenance nightmare. Gosh imagine in a few years how the roots of trees start to crack the walls and structures and how gardening must be done hanging from ropes. Not very practical or economic.
