In this video, we'll show you our method to get very clean mitered ends on the open ended sides of stair treads. I call this a secret, because I've never seen anyone else use this method, and it provides the best look in my opinion. It's almost impossible to do it on a miter saw, and you won't be able to get a straight enough cut, using a jig saw, or by hand. Don't just cut it straight and round it over, put a miter on it! Thanks for watching, and make sure to subscribe to catch the next new video.

are the nails necessary if you're using that much adhesive? if so, are you concerned about hitting any of the screws from the plywood? great vid!

Thanks! Yes, nails will hold them in place while the glue cures. If you didn't nail them down, and someone stepped on them while the glue was setting, it could be like stepping on a banana peel in a cartoon. Sometimes you may hit a screw or some other metal,, but then you just pull the nail, and fill the hole

Great vids... I’m currently putting on 3/4” oak treads, planning on nailing and gluing... but I only have a 18 gauge ryobi brad nailer... would that suffice or do I need to borrow a 16 gauge finish nailer? Thanks.

I would definitely recommend to use at least 16 gauge, 15 gauge would be even better

No finished risers?

No, they wanted to do tile risers on these. But then months later they ended up calling us back to do wood risers. I didn't get a video or picture though
