When a song writer writes a song it's always nice for a major recording artist to turn it into a million seller. The real joy for a songwriter must come when a singer interprets a song in such a way as to lift it far higher than the songwriter could have imagined. Inger Marie has taken a rather ordinary but nice pop song and transformed it into something really special.... Only a handful of artists have ever shown this skill of interpreting a song in such a way. Thank you Inger.
I listened your song from the radio for the first time, when I drove to work this morning. Even though I arrived at my office, I couldn't get out of my car. Your voice appeals to my heart magically. Now I'm listening your song repeatedly Thank you very much.
This is by far the best interpretation of this song. In fact, I did not imagine it could sound so beautiful and so soulful. You are an amazing singer, Inger Marie. Thank you for this.
Hi Inger Marie.. you know, as an ex Dj covering three decades.. I've listened to literally hundreds of versions of this song. Rod's version beats them all.. EXCEPT this...it stunned me with the jazz feel, it changed sufficiently with your interpretation of the chorus to make it special.. above special. It has real class this one. Smooth yet deep, like a cappucino with amoretto flavouring.. wails and yet soothes. A marvellous piece of musianship. Thank you for this offering..genial- Phil
Absolutely your song in my ears, no one does it better: right tempo, arrangement, backup is right on capturing her mastery perfectly.. thank you for this fine vid... Robert
The world is too full of is only's. If only the opium poppy didn't exist. If only men didn't harvest it for greed. If only others didn't manufacture heroin from it. If only others didn't cut & sell it to others. If only someone didn't introduce the writer of this song to it. If only he had the strength to say no. Danny Whitten 8th May, 1943 - 18th November, 1972 the writer and original singer of this song. Inger Marie, you sing it as it was meant to be sung, as Danny wanted it to be sung.
Can't be true.. so the interpreter responded personally?!!.. Wow... Well, Inge, let me tell you what happened a short while ago, a small grouop of music lovers, sharing some videos every now and than Some time ago, I came accross Rebekka Bakken's Powder room collapse, so this invention led to some search on norgtern singers. So a friend "invented" you. Whan I listened, I commented "Super! the singer should be a wild, merciless person! Could as well be a sadist!" :-) U know what I mean. Love.
Wow!!! I am really enchanted with her voice and rendition and accompanying band. Why was she unknown to the world audience? She deserved to be known worldwide. Norah Jones should be Gundersen's porter.
