love this song, coming from a mom's point of view, it's so hard to see your kids go through heartbreak, but it's also hard for us too because sometimes you're close with the "ex". I currently have that situation with my oldest son. He was with his ex for 8 years and she saw me as a mom, (her mother was an alcoholic and not what she needed). He's with someone else now whom I love and they are expecting :) but I couldn't turn my back on the ex because she was like a daughter to me, luckily my son understands that and doesn't have a problem with us talking. I have made it clear though, that I will not discuss my son or his new relationship with her so we're good :)
I really like Ingrid Andress, she's got another couple of great songs that you might like - Ladylike and We're Not Friends. I can identify with video for two reasons. My husband and I met when we were 16 (me) & 14 (him) yrs old. My family became very invested into him. 29 years later, my son is 17 dating a 19 yr old. We are really invested into her and feel like she is part of our family. So, just listening to this song makes me sad to think about them breaking up and she wouldn’t be a part of our family anymore.

My family “adopts” friends and significant others. There’s five kids in my family, so what’s one more going on a road trip or coming around for dinner or crashing at our house? When my ex and I broke up, it really affected my family, because he was a part of it. And I still miss his dad sometimes. There’s been a couple of other break ups in my family since then, and they were hard on all of us, not just the one who was actually in the relationship. This song is my family so perfectly, because my mom says that one of my brother’s friends is her favorite child, and during the beginning of COVID all five of us flocked home, plus two of the adopted girlfriends. My dad will give them advice on buying cars and other stuff like that, just like he does for us. This is song that I love but can’t listen to often because it just hits right at home, and makes me miss them.
There is a great singer named Yolo who has a soulful Country sound. The song Ride out in the Country. Great song, great voice, awesome video. Also check out Ashley McBryde, really, really talented. Bible and a 44 or Girl Going Nowhere are her best known.

Me and my girlfriend broke up 2 days before Thanksgiving, our 2 year anniversary was on October first and her birthday was on November 11th. Her dads was on November 12th, my birthday was on December 22nd so it was a really fucking hard end of the year for me. She sent me this song because I didnt realize her heart was broken and mine was, but I didnt realize her dads heart, her moms heart, her grandmas heart, and her 2 sisters who are 5 and 3 were hurt. She told me her sisters asked about me a lot anf asked when i waz coming back and that fucking broke me. I can't listen to this song without listening to this song more than 1 minute without thinking about my ex girlfriend and her family, mainly her two sisters, i just wish we couldve worked things out or erase those little girls memories so they didnt feel sad I was gone. Half the time Im more sad for them over my girl because I'm an orphan an I know what it feels like when it feels like when family abandons you. I know I didn't abandon them but those 2 girls probably think I did and that line in this song kills me 😭💔
