Looks very nice. I just hope that the very obvious engine sound loops and the bad looking engine heat blur effects will be improved in the future. Especially the sound loop. The repeating pattern in the sound loop is very distinct and will get on my nerves fast. It already started to do just that during the video. But they promised they will look at the sound after I brought it to their attention so I'm sure it will be fine. Can't wait!

I learned today that the F model has a Merlin vs all the others that have an Allison. Thank you. I honestly thought they never moved to the merlin even if Packard was pumping them into the stang.

Thank you for the video. The plane looks amazing, I hope it will be released on Xbox, too. The only thing I don't like is the spinning propeller on the ground, it looks like a blurred blob on both sides. A bit off. Hopefully they'll manage to fix it soon.

Great review, can't wait to get it. I still have the A2A P-40 for P3D, but this look promising

This looks like another great product from Inibuilds. My only dislike is the exhaust effects during taxi. Yes, there would be heat and smoke but what is currently modeled looks very strange. Thanks for the great video.

Yeah, that heat blur looks really bad. I'd prefer there wouldn't be any instead of it looking like that.

Did you set the plane to auto rich after engine start ? Full rich could be robbing you of performance, what were your cowl flaps positions throughout the flight ? This can eat into the speed as well. Its good to take off and land with an open canopy in those planes, in case of a ground loop and flipping over, its also a good idea to hold the tail down with the elevator during run up in case it starts rising from all that propwash. During landing you can either 3 point "stall land" or do a wheel landing on the mains, then you hold the tail in the air as long as you can (to maintain control effectiveness) and after it starts falling you quickly transition to pushing the tail down with the elevator, all this is to minimize ground looping. And of course you constantly dance on those pedals :) This plane was mostly good at lower altititudes quickly losing performance higher where all other fighters ruled from what i remember. Does it spin and snap roll good :) ?
@givenfirstnamefamilyfirstn3935
It had the Merlin for better altitude performance. Even though it had a single stage and non inter(after)cooled supercharger it had two supercharger speeds and so two full throttle heights/critical altitudes with far more power at medium-high altitudes than the single stage single speed Allison engined P-40s with a single peak power altitude.
@vedymin1
@vedymin1 Год назад
@@givenfirstnamefamilyfirstn3935 Is that supercharger full auto ? I might have missed some controls for it in the cockpit, i mostly remember the a2a model for p3d that had a warhawk variant, some differences are likely :)
@givenfirstnamefamilyfirstn3935
@@vedymin1 In Spitfire Mk VIII/IX/XVIs the speed change was automatic through an altitude sensing aneroid capsule. That P-40’s pilot notes would cover it in detail.

Where do people buy rc planes that are in the United States? Banggood is a UK site.

Really nice video of a beautiful airplane, thanks for sharing. I'm not a 100% convinced, though as there are still some factors such as the overly excessive heart blur and the obvious sound loops. Considering that there is yet another P40 planned to release for the sim in the not so distant future I may well hold my fire for now and see what the competition brings to the table. Besides, I also have Big Radials' take on the B variant which I quite like. Graphically it's less sophisticated but the sound is great and handling is tricky enough to keep me entertained.

I didn't even know there was a competition coming! Indeed, good plan then to wait and compare before buying!

Omg!!! I just bought this aircraft and I also have big radials version and it makes big radials version look like and sound like playing on an N64 nintendo! The big radials version needs to be put out to pasture because it is not even close to the same category as this beauty and it's only $8!

@@A330Driver there's not. Just big radials, which is awful, and iabuilds. I have both now and wow! This thing is superior in every possible way compared to our old one from big radials and it's only $8!

Compass and heading indicators operate incorrectly. The card in the real compass and heading indicator remain North oriented and the plane turns around them. The cards do not spin! I get that not every system in a sim aircraft can or even needs to be modeled but a simple primary flight instruments should work correctly ( and in many other sim planes they do) and there is no reason this couldn't have been done here other than the game programmer that did these instruments is not a pilot and or didn't bother to look a a photo of the instrument panel of a vintage airplane. What a shame.
@ArrRoh
@ArrRoh Год назад
Do you need to cycle through the prop during run-up?
@A330Driver
@A330Driver Год назад
Not according to the manuals that have been provided with the aircraft.
@givenfirstnamefamilyfirstn3935
The PACKARD Merlin used a hydraulic propeller so a standard three fine to coarse pitch cycles would warm up the mechanism.
