Christian comes to my artist's studio as a guest artist pretty frequently, and he's insanely different than in the show. He's so kind and compassionate and friendly. One of my best friends wanted a tattoo to go around her chemo port, and he took the time to listen to her story and ensured he created a piece that was special for her. I was with her, and he was nothing like his tv persona.
I absolutely hated him on the show and I started to follow him on Instagram and I realized he is completely different than how he was on the show. He does seem very humbled.
Competitions like these can force people to be their worst. Or TV-people fabricate fake stories which causes people to look bad. Afterall drama sells. Quite some stories known about creating false drama. I hope how he is at your studio is how he actually is :)
Nah, Christian was absolutely in the right talking to that canvas 10:52. You don't get to walk into the room yelling at your artist and demanding a free tattoo.
Yeah i think anybody would act the same if treated that way, it was also Dave's fault for the redemption tattoos since he always said confront like in a way allowing the clients to be rude, i don't know i think he could tell them to try to find a peaceful way to get to a agreement
How come St. Marq wasn’t on here? His ego was so big that it couldn’t even contain itself in the entirety of Ink Master studio! Claimed to be a tattoo god? Like who tf actually does that? Even if he was great at tattooing (which I think he was only mediocre at best) calling urself a god un-ironically is beyond worse than ppl like Christian being on here. At least Christian could back up his smack talk with good tattoos! Only other person who was just as bad was Mystic Mike!
I was thinking the same exact thing. His attitude was a huge turn-off. If I ever met anyone with that kind of smugness in their field, I would walk away so fast.
Surprised Kyle Dunbar and Josh Hibbard didn't make this list. Both were involved in some of the biggest controversies in the show's history and were delusional about their levels of talent
I don’t get how mystical Mike is not on this list but I do agree that the judges are definitely bias and I think the only reason why people hate Jason is because everyone knows that clean should’ve won

I have a theory as to why Jason won. Cleen was the overall better tattooer and we all know it, so they wanted one more season with him. Having to beat second place is a powerful incentive.
That was one of the reasons why I stopped watching Ink Master for awhile. The judges showed so much bias toward other artists even if their designs were far worse than others.
what can i say, i like christian. it's obvious he plays up for the cameras but despite this he has always seemed like someone who is kind, genuine and really cars about his work
It was his yelling that canvases shouldn’t listen to their tattoo artists to change tattoo positions that just made me dislike him. Plus cleen is better 😁

My sister got a tattoo from Jayson Clay Dunn, a stained glass hummingbird on the back of her shoulder, and it’s kinda bad honestly. She said he was really pervy and he was hitting on her the whole time even with his wife or girlfriend or whatever present.
The thing that made me hate Jason Clay Dunn the most was that he used his anxiety as an excuse CONSTANTLY. If he really has anxiety as bad as he claims, then how is he even in that competition in the first place? I know from many personal experiences that anxiety paralyzes you.
Yeah, I get what you're saying, but the way your anxiety effects you is not the only way. Mine gives me panic attacks and doesn't "paralyze" me, but I can still function in front of people. Anxiety is a wide scale. They could be expressing their uncomfort by bringing it up. People do that. Mental health isn't a one way deal. It has many many many paths.
Christian always seemed like a hardass to the other contests, probably because of the shows nature, but he seemed so genuine and caring with his canvases. At one point when a canvas jury sent him to the bottom for a bad tattoo he apologized to her that she wasn’t happy with what she ended up getting. Something that was very rare on the show. He’s just seems like the type of guy that wants respect and he’ll give you exactly what you give him.
imagine getting your entire back tattooed, and being completely open to ANY kinda tattoo, having no idea what it could be. So weird!! Who ARE these people??
Seriously Mystical Mike. My mind just reels at the awfulness each season and none of these pop up especially Dunn. That dude his name escapes me that tried to actually assault Nuñez - I mean this was an awful pick of terrible people

I totally understand why Jason Clay Dunn didn't wanna tattoo someone who walked out after one session as a master canvas. The master canvasses sign a document stating they will get anything done. If she didn't like it from the start, she should've said. But the canvas was clearly just wanting a free tattoo. Then the fact she tried to act like she didn't try to screw him out of winning.

Right! I hated how one week it was Chris standing firm on blown out lines or improper shading...and then the next week he'd switch up and say, "Well this was better art but didn't meet the challenge" 🙄
Cleen is the goat of Ink Master I don't care what anybody says. He should've been made a judge in season 14. Not sure how I feel about the new judges honestly.

@@curtislamont6372 I can see changing your mind, but I’d expect that BEFORE you sit for several hours to get the outlines tattooed on you. Although personally her, and many other on the Redemption show, seem to only really be there hoping to get another free tattoo.

They act all high and mighty that they would never dare let the artist touch them again - then instantly love the design and get it on them straight away lol. The ones who never get their current one fixed/covered are definitely only there for a new free one ahaha.
If there’s anything I’ve learned from this show and even my first tattoo experience, it’s that the amount of experience an artist has is not everything. These artists can talk all this smack but at the end of the day, the fact that you’ve been tattooing X amount of years longer than other artists doesn’t mean you’re more skilled, as proven time and time again on this show. Regarding my tattoo, the artist who did my first tattoo had about 18 years of experience. We had a great consult and his portfolio looked good. When I got my tattoo, part of my ankle was chewed up. As in skin hanging off of a dime-sized area and a pus scabbing over that spot within the hour. Also put the color in completely different than what we talked about. I asked for a green outline, he gave me a cloudy green thumbprint dead center. Girl who did my other two tattoos is from the same shop. Finished her apprenticeship almost a year ago, totaling to about 2 years of experience. When she tattooed my leg, I could see and feel the difference in the way she worked and in the final product. I could understand the amount of focus and care she put into each aspect of my tattoos. She also touched up the black in my first tattoo for me so, instead of cloudy and uneven black and grey, it’s now solid black. She didn’t overwork my skin and there were no blowouts. Experience is important but it’s not everything. You can have decades of experience and give zero fricks, and you can have a small amount of experience and do a better job. It’s technique, focus, fundamentals, care, and dedication to the art of tattooing that help to make an artist truly great. To say “I’ve been tattooing for [x] years” and imply that this means you’re a better artist AND proceeding to throw around insults is arrogant, pathetic, and a red flag as far as I can tell. I see more potential in those who focus on the actual process of tattooing.
My issue with a lot of these shows is you can't always tell if people are genuinely what you see or if the producers wanted to make things more dramatic and heated for effect
How can you put Jason on this list but not put Joshua Hibbard on the list. If your going to go with the most hated contestants of all time Joshua needs to be on there not Jason

Christian is the most underrated artist on Ink Master, he's a fantastic artist, my sister got tattooed with him and he's a great guy and he's one of the best characters on Ink Master and makes entertaining tv.
Surprised that Jason was on here, meanwhile Josh cheated in the competition, Mystical Mike ran his mouth like a marathon, and Sebastian openly bragged about causing extra pain for his tattoo clients.

I'm not saying I nescesarily like Josh, but quite honestly I think the reaction most people have for him and the love for Jason is pretty odd.
Y’all are going to act like Dunn was worse than Josh in that season? Josh was universally loathed for a reason. Dunn was maybe the fourth worst contestant that season at most
Atleast he was not a hypocrite like other like Jason who cried every time Josh picked hard skull for him and called him evil and what not, but when he and his group did it, it was "fair game" "stirring the pot"
From personal experience, I can say that Jason Clay Dunn is by far the worst. A complete POS. Christian on the other hand is actually a really good guy.
Quitting with a MONTH left to getting a degree tells me how stupid someone is. if you still have 2 years....ok. i get that. A MONTH? Thats extra credentials that might help in the future and you can still use it to fall back on
What no one understands is that shows like ink master and other "reality" contests will keep the people who cause drama around the longest because that is what will generate views for the show. It's like one of movies that is so bad that you have to keep watching just to see what will happen next.
Jason was supposed to have a canvas that was completely open and then she changed her mind. He could’ve at least been a little more kind but the lady did nearly screw him out of the win.
Jason was a terrible artist for being 20 yrs in in my opinion and the season josh got kicked off he shoulda won instead of jason because everytime they faced off josh won. Josh was just a better tattooist.
bUt hE UseD ReFeREnces??? 😂😂😂 I agree. When I was a teen I was on Jason's side, because I didn't have experience looking beyond what the edit show was giving me. But after re-watching the series several times over I find certain people highly hypocritical and annoying, and people I hated I understand more and it's clear that in reality they were being targeted and poked at and the show was edited to make them look worse. Josh is a prime example. Yes he's egotistical (they all are), yes he's a jerk. But basically everybody else ganged up on him in that house and loved to insult him, so he would shove it in their faces when it backfired. I also just find it fairly annoying and completely ridiculous how Jason tried to claim he was tracing when he was using references. Jason is an artist, he should know that most artists use references. Although maybe that's why he wasn't as good as his experience would have indicated.
Somebody shouldn’t be disliked solely on the fact they aren’t the best tattooist on the show. Some people just TRY to find reasons to hate on someone else.
Because people would rather blame a guy than hold a woman accountable, that wasn't staged as some women are actually like that they really can't see what they did wrong

He isn’t wrong, SHE SIGN UP FOR A TATTOO THAT HE CAN FREE STYLE and DO WHATEVER HE WANTS. SHE DID NOT SIGN UP FOR A FREE TATTOO SHE CHOOSES. IT WAS ALL UP TO HIM TO CHOOSES. Honestly, he was not wrong. If the roles were reverse, people would have took her sign if she was the tattoo artist.
Those were fine for me. Except maybe Ashley, but just because I think it's ridiculous to not at least finish your degree after years of hard work. Those I hated were people like Josh and Mystical Mike. Those were just awful in every way.
I always wondered if Dave was left out of the loop, when it came to the “competition” being rigged, as he always seemed to try and keep it real, consistent and judge based on the current challenge.
Jason was easily the most annoying character so incredibly full of himself while being a subpar artist at best and just a straight loser, if I remember correctly he threw a fit because someone got caught smoking and he was scared he was gonna lose to a smoker it was hilarious, he talked this huge game that he was the best and got pressed over a plant absolutely a loser hahahahaha his redemption should’ve been being kicked off the show so people would want to watch ink masters again
Jason seemed annoying and whiny but I am totally on his side when it came to the client that bailed on the tattoo. Her bailing on the tattoo and choosing to come back wasn't enough for me to not take her side, but how unapologetic she seemed about it. If someone's sorry they need to be sorry, she went up to Jason like there'd be no bad blood and got all surprised that he'd still act upset about the past. Yeah she shouldn't have to be stuck with a tattoo she didn't want but she *chose* to enter this competition as a client, agreed with the tattoo Jason made, let him work on her back for the outline, and then chose to not finish it. Sucks she was stuck with the outline and had to get tattoo removal but I'm totally with Jason on not wanting to just tattoo her again.
Lil D was just consistently not the worst. Honestly, his devil girl one wasn't all that bad, neat design. I think the fact that the canvas had a very low pain tolerance affected what he was willing to try to do.
I actually think Jason is a fraud. There was never really any evidence of Jason having 20 years of experience, he just said that he has been a tattoo artist for a very, very long time and we were just expected to believe that.
dude redemption is literally scripted BS. As a side note Ashley seems like a good artist just not good at tattooing. Maybe she should’ve just got paid for drawing the stencils and not doing the tattooing
Cleen got robbed, Jason skated by the entire season and produced very little good work. The only reason Jason made it into the finals was because Josh got DQd for pot. Definitely would've been Josh and Cleen in the finals. Jason is by far the worst Ink Master.
I think what people fail to realize is this is a TV show, and they need to have drama in the show. Knowing a ton of tattoo artists, a lot of them who turned down the “opportunity” to be on the show, and a couple who were on the show. They all say the same, it’s mostly taken out of context, and a lot of it is from taking direction from the show runners.
Lil D opened a tattoo shop where I live and it's 200 an hour he didn't even win he charges way to much when there're other shops near by and they charge less and have better work.
So I've noticed on reality shows, that I'm pretty sure producers influence or make deals to keep terrible people on the show or those who cause drama on for longer. If they get kicked off before the finale or before it looks too suspicious then that's all that really matter to them.
Josh versus Jason muahahahaha...Josh played the competition as a reverse psychology game and poked ppl here there and where ever to make ppl break down. I'd take Josh as an artist over the horrible stuff Jason would come out with it
OMG! This is a fist for so I’m kinda freaking out right now, but the Reddit comments he put on the screen for Ashley was from a post I made about Ashley. I asked people if there was anyone from ink master that they hated but couldn’t put a finger onto as to why because I couldn’t put my finger onto why I disliked her so much. This is so surreal!
You for sure got it twisted with Dunn and Hubbard. Josh was the biggest waste of space ever, no artistic talent at all. And I don't blame Jason for being upset at that lady. She literally signed up to get anything and then quit. If you can't do it, don't say you can.
Gentle Jay for me is the worst. He was completely delusional and had a terrible attidude, especially to clients. Also I really liked Christian and didn't really mind Lil D, no clue why people dislike them so much.
Christian was a Marine. Him and another dude kept hammering on about how they still had a military mindset in playing the game, work ethic, perceverance and honorably competing. At some point it's just about 'I am a Soldier, look at how strong I am'.
