The Inmotion V12 Cut out and since few of these new electric unicycle from inmotion is been getting some cut out this situation should be addressed and that's why I get them on the channel to answer your questions and my questions, like if they have improved the MOSFETs on this like the ones that are used on kingsong or gotway / begode wheels. Should the MOS be the same on this new motherboard for the Inmotion v12HS as the ones they use on the Inmotion V12HT?

Thanks Marco 🙏 So good to see inmotion responding to this issue in a professional manner and that they are working to fix the problem. One of my best riding buddies has a v12 and it has performed amazingly for months now. Fast, torquey, and really long range (We rode over 100 km the other day and it had 25% battery left)

@MADPack, Aloha from Hawaii! This is a great informative video that put some of my anxiety at ease riding my V12 batch 2. It is my favorite, do it all wheel. I added many mile too and confident my wheel is safe. I done the spin test multiple times, hop up/down curbs, hard breaking etc. tying to mimic cut-off failures as other with v12 posted and so far all is good. BTW, thanks! I use your split mode settings from your past V12 videos and that is spot on for my everyday rides.

Yeah man always doing my best to help the community. I’m in conversations with inmotion to see if they can deliver a motherboard to all v12 users since is what the community expect. Bear in mind that is Chinese holiday at this moment so for the next 2 weeks they will not be available but hope that soon will be restarting conversations but I’m confident that inmotion will do there best to give us all the best solution

We still have to understand Chinese culture is very different to ours and even if inmotion is the biggest EUC company on the market is still a small business. But we have to see everything they do for us. They had issues with v11 bearings they were not swapping bearings they were giving new motors, now this they are giving new motherboards and paying all the costs… we need to not just see our side but also important to see there side and after working for the last 4 years with the Chinese market I can tell you that inmotion is in another level

Yeah tbh I have the V12 and I'm not sure if I will ever feel fully confident riding it now. Which is stupid because the quality and security are the main reasons I choose this wheel over another.

Marco, an absolutely excellent video and content! I always look forward to your opinion and advice toward the EUC's. I have tested my V12 a couple times and it seems fine and has always turned back on after. I will be practicing /learning to ride later this week. I have tried a few times inside the house due to heavy snow and cold conditions, but want to get practicing soon! Be well!

Great video Marco, I was waiting for it ! In the end the only new information that I don't think was public yet was that the mosfet on the new motherboard are the same they will be using for the V12HT wich is great news ! Really happy to know that they are doing the right thing. I'm probably one of the first guys who burned out his V12 with the test, just a few hours after Inmotion released it, but in the end no regrets, I'm glad I did. I have my sherman to ride in the meantime, and according to my distributor, they airshipped the new motherboards and they should be arriving soon. Hopefully I get my V12 back before the end of February. As you said, I hope they focus on fixing all the V12s currently on the market, before they focus on releasing the V12HT and then the V13. With the worldwide component shortage it's definitely going to be a big hit for them, but if they want to do right by their customers and keep our trust, they need to change every single one of these boards. Passing the test or not, the V12 should not be equipped with 100V mosfets, they need to have a safety margin like gotway, kingsong and veteran (and even inmotion old wheels, V11 etc). As for your wheel, basically at this stage with the amount of miles you have on it you know that your 'riding style' is very unlikely to cause a cutoff. The only thing that could happen is a pothole or curb (ie : unforeseen event) that creates a current spike and burns it, like it happened to a couple of guys who passed the test. So yeah, either way no point to test it, but you should keep pushing to get your motherboard replaced anyway.

And as you said, we know all of that because we're active in the community, but I think Inmotion and the distributors could do more to inform V12 owners who are not as active as we are in the community and are maybe not even aware of the issue.

Damn… now that’s what I call relevant information AND an awesome positioning for Inmotion. Instead of avoiding the issue, they acted like Japanese companies like Toyota and Nissan. They acknowledged there was a problem, they are studying it to the best of their capabilities and are committed to correct it to all consumers without costs. Agreed, also this is how a brand can be known and trusted despite potential unexpected issues in the future. Mistakes happen, bugs can be found, problems and even big problems can be fixed and over looked but what cannot be undone is restoring lost trust and faith in a company to take care of and be honest with their customers. Having just got the V12 myself, I'm so glad to knkw that while I'm learning about this potential issue, that Inmotion is taking it seriously and working to resolve it while communicating with their customers.

Thank you for the video. I got my V12 a few weeks before the mosfet issue came up and have done the spin test. I like the InMotion features and build quality overall, but I do have regrets on my purchase. If they did replace all of the underkill mosfets before focusing on the powerful wheel race out there, I would consider buying InMotion again. Also that “10 groups, 2 times” was not part of the InMotion spin kill video. They said “10 groups” so I thought they meant 10 times; I hope I don’t have a damaged (weakened) but functional board. That’s why I decided to bring this video because there were no practical answer online for this situation. Don’t regret on your inmotion wheel they are slowly sorting this out. Is it nice? No but they didn’t let us down they are coming with solutions

@@MADpack hey Marcos. Yes, it’s a fantastic wheel, I like it very much but I don’t have the confidence in it anymore that I had before the mos issue. I did tons of homework and picked the V12 over the RSS because of build quality, safety, features, and IP rating over the RSS performance. Adam even mentioned the undersized mosfets in his review but that seems less of an issue than Begode fires. Hey, I really hope your shoulder is recovering well and I appreciate your making content for us despite that discomfort. 🙏✌️

Once again thank you so much for asking how I feel. The 31th I should have finally an MRI to my shoulder and hope that is nothing to bad but I feel a bit better returned to the gym and doing some exercises focused in reenforcing that part with some muscles to see if the pain starts to come off. Related with the confidence I’m like you I want to change the motherboard in mine and also I want to put another tire since the wheel is to slippery in the winter and I’m more concern about that than the MOS to be honest with you.. since that is the reason why I injured myself. Let’s wait to see what comes next but I believe this video will help me out to reenforce the importance to bring a motherboard to all of us

Just ordered a V12 even knowing about the issues mentioned here. I have no idea will the wheel be a new better version, but i'm pretty confident that it will be since it was a pre-order and don't think inmotion will send more units out with the bad MOSfets. I think every single wheel has SOME problems, but this is a tricky one since it MAY happen or it may not... I have seen many videos about the V12 being stress tested with the youtube EUC guru's and haven't seen pretty much any major complaints, so i decided to order a V12. Wish me luck :D

so, I'm kind of new to the euc world I have a kingsong 14d and I love it, but I have wanted a lot more speed at a descent price and the v12 looked really fun, reliable and safe but for a couple of days now I have been watching some videos about a cutoff issue and from the videos from wrong way and some other people it looked like it was a near perfect wheel with great quality control but now I'm questioning that and what is this test you guys are talking about? I'm going to search up a video about if after I'm done commenting so, question 1: is this issue on brand new wheels? 2: say I get the v12 and "the test" deems that my wheel is safe are there any other things I need to test for? 3: say I get the v12 and "the test" deems that my wheel is unsafe then how long will it be until I would get it back safe? 4: how often is a wheel unsafe? 5: if my wheel is bad and I send it and then get it back is it 100% that it will be fine? do I need to do the test again when I get it back? 6: just making sure I would not have to pay for anything if it's a bad one, right? thank you so much for the video and making me a were of this problem!

Answering in one question all your questions.. inmotion is updating the mosfets in future v12hs same as on v12ht after that no need to worry about mosfets and cutout related to blow up mosfets hope that it make sense :)

Kingsong s20 is not a recommendation for now need to test it but feedback that I’ve been having is that is like a Nokia 3310 that when you fall with it comes apart

Thanks for the video Marco! Do you have any updates regarding Inmotion replacing the motherboards for every customer? I pre-ordered my V12 in June 2021 (delivered in Toronto, ON, in August 2021) from Freemotion. Mine has the acres at the back of the handle (which batch would that be?) I wasn't aware of this issue until now. I think I won't do the test at this point, but I don't feel confident anymore with the wheel. I chose it specifically for its "safety" and "reliability" over other wheels in the market. I really hope Inmotion replaces the motherboards for all customers, especially when safety could be at stake. My one-year warranty expires soon, but I think this issue would be still covered by them, right? Is there a way to follow up on this issue? I've seen that the official announcement was made in Jan 2022, but nothing else since then. It's worrying. By the way, how is your shoulder doing?

Yooo bro about the motherboard I’m not sure. And about the version I’m in Italy in holiday so not sure because I can’t compare to mine. Related to my shoulder is still really bad a lot of pain some days and lost a lot of movement on it… not sure if I will get better. I will recommend you to contact your distributor and ask to anew motherboard saying that you had a cut off so you can get a replacement. Hope it help… related to mine never had a cut off and use it without a problem until today

I should have known better when inmotion didn't fix the damn bearings in the v11 and people were getting a new motors over and over. They will focus more on this mosfets situation on the v13 just like every wheel company does there next wheel. ✌️

by saying "new motherboards", do you mean receiving a box at home with a new mobo and then changing it myself? If it's as complicated, as changing the mobo on PC, then i can do it, but if it includes soldering myself, then nope. Hopefully it's an easy fix, since it would take much less logistics than sending the whole wheel to distributor in China and then waiting for it to come back with new mobo.

I don't know how regulation on euc-riding is there in China. But in occident is becoming more and more common to ride in the street alongside motos and cars (I live in Madrid). This kind of defects are of serious concern when you have cars behind you.

I ride in the UK for 4 years every day and more than 20.000km with it… my only concern is to continue to ride and see this market growing every day since the wheels are evolving like crazy.

@@MADpack Yes, I agree 90%. I mean I hope that this evolution includes more quality and robustness, not only flashy things as speed and torquiness. Of course we love all these things... But you begin to love security when you kiss the ground.

My friend nobody takes more care about protection than me … level 2 jackets, knees level 2, new boots with ankle protection reenforce, full face helmet wrist guards gloves etc and I fall the 13 of December at 40mph so I know the importance to be safe when falling :)

Great update! I agree with you 100%. I received my v12 last week but it will not charge and gives me an error. Fault; the battery or charger may need to be replaced. I don't want to take my wheel apart at this time as I don't want to void a potential warranty claim for a new control board. Right now I have an expensive paperweight if you know what I mean! I purchased from Chicway and I'm not getting response. If you have a contact you could share with me at inmotion I would love to reach out to them for advice. Thank you

If you have telegram there are a group there called inmotion EUC official group from there is easier to contact them. Chicway can’t be called a distributor next time I recommend you to use a proper distributor one that support you all the way

High torque will have less range still waiting my ht to be able to give you my full feedback but you still have to wait but an off-road tire also takes basically around 10km of range

I find it amazing that they can build a board with electronic components and have no Trace ability to even have any idea which Lots were bad. This goes to show that in-motion sources their components from the most unreputable cheapest suppliers they can get

Because like I said on the video I believe they need is to send motherboard to every one. The mosfet are 100v is the wheel is 100v there is no room for error I didn’t do the test because in the end I have 2000miles already and my riding style I know it saves the mosfets

Also but is not because of that was delayed my v12ht because of the delay in production of the v12ht and they manage to 2 units but they will be needing them so I have to wait dor the mid February

My question is not only for Inmotion but for all wheel makers there in China. If I watch this video showing instructions for wheel owners to perform a test looking for some X defect in a machine... the logical question is: ¿Does that means that the factory is shipping wheels overlooking/neglecting those tests? If the car industry had these standards... nobody would buy a car ever.

Thank you for your comment.. the question is do you ride electric unicycles? Beside that I get and you have a valid comment but do you think that the first cars to be produced were as safe they are now? You know that the first car invented is from 1886? How do you think cars were in 1896? Just doing this question for you since EUCs are only been developed since 2012.. so after saying this hope you understand that your comparison makes no sense.. we are talking about something completely new. Or were you expecting also that plains after 10 years were super safe to fly?

@@MADpack I ride since 2017. I get your point about the historic perspective on both industries. BUT, nowadays it feels like common sense to me that certain tests must be done by the factory instead of the user.... for me is common sense. The product is very new, but testing and safety standards.... can we expect 21 century ones... or are we spending in 19 century standards?

Hi once again Bernardo. And yeah I see that you ride for even more years than me but you are not so much aware of the dimension of this companies l. They are still young and small companies many times with one person making more than one position. Things are evolving and if you ride since 2017 and you jump from a 2017 to a 2022 wheel you feel the difference. Just doing a test have massive costs per example inmotion sometimes have wheels that were above ip54 rate and they were not rating above because the cost was too high. Things that you as an consumer without working with them you are not aware or per example chargers for the v12 be only 3a because if bigger increase the cost is transportation. So is not so simple as you think

@@MADpack yeah sure, I imagined state of things are currently as you described. I can't figure the numbers... but in my case, (and I think many riders will also) I would prefer to pay a little (even) more money for those tests. Maybe they can even some way automate those tests in the future and so reducing costs. Yes, I agree I think as a consumer.. because I am... wheel makers should care more about us IMHO. Thanks!

@@MADpack depends on the rider, I dont like 16 inch wheels, i prefer bigger. 20 inch higher. To each of his own. But my opinion is that v12 is not in my radar after the cut outs messed up Mosfets.
