MY REVIEW AS OF JUNE 13TH 2024:
I really like the atmosphere of this game, and I REALLY want to see it succeed and take off, but as of right now it's a buggy mess.
It's only on v0.11.3, and I know it's unfair to judge this game in it's current state, but the tutorial set such a tone for the game and set my expectations way too high for the disappointment that was the actual gameplay.
My only actual critique for this game is that it's not clear how many codes need to be found before the locked sections of the map can be opened.
You can only check how many codes are remaining by interacting with the locked doors, but you can't check how many (or which) codes have already been used.
This is a problem because the chat window is extremely small, can't be scrolled through, and codes sometimes can't even be put in chat due to the chat filter.
The other problems with this game are mainly the buggy gunplay, janky melee hitboxes, extreme visual clutter, and overall clunky mechanics, but the developer IS aware of these problems and is actively fixing them.
Once the game is ironed out and actually playable, I'll probably revisit it again.
On their group description:
"- INNER BLUE II (testing MAY 31st, full release JUNE)"
I think this game could have benefitted from being delayed from full release by a couple weeks or maybe even a few months. They were way too hasty in releasing an unfinished product.
