No one will ever read this but I just have to get it off my chest. I've watched the pies play for over 30 years. I was at the G when we beat SK Kilda in the granny. But this team, has been by far the most fun I've ever had watching a team play footy. I watched every game on my own this year and every minute of it was an absolute pleasure. To win the flag this year meant so much to me and I'm sure it was the same for every other pies fan. I just want to say thank you to this team and the people who put this package together, it has been some of the best times of my life and I'll never forget it. Go pies.
I'm sure a few will read your message......I watched the games alone as well.......this team is heart attack material but very worthwhile. 3 Prems in my lifetime and quite a few heartbreaks......Go Pies
Me too. I watched every match with my son who is a Geelong supporter, because my mum died in 2020 and never got to see another Grand Final win. This has been my favorite out of the 3 wins, 2 draws and 7 losses I have experienced in my time as a Collingwood supporter.
I did read your comment & agree 100%. I also watched on my own as I don't like "outside interference" 😅 2023 was the most fun I've had watching the Pies. 2022 very close second. Go Pies! Let's do it again in 2024
I’m a Hawk supporter but I would say I’ve never seen Collingwood as a team play as good as they have in these last two years, and I’ve been following the footy seriously since the 1980’s.
@@TheLucasisawesome I did and I'm not ashamed. John Noble should have been playing too instead of Bags Ginnivan......but unfortunately the team couldn't be changed after naming.
I loved the part where in the rooms before the game, I think it’s Q asks him, “who is 37 for Collingwood?” and Leggy says, “it’s the bloke who’s been turned down and rejected by the whole of the AFL.” Well that bloke is a Collingwood premiership player now, and no doubt he was brought to the club not only for his football ability but his great character too. Absolutely love the leg man and what he has brought to the team.
Love it, party pies, hehehe, I never thought of that, but then I am a Freo fan haha my team were unexepctedly pants this year, so I chose you guys to follow, for the sheer excitement of your games. Wish Freo had that closeness the Pies have, but players keep leaving. Hard to build and maintain the synergy and mateship you see with the Pies. Brilliant, and well deserved win on GF day. Hope you had a ball on the day x
A Pies supporter since 1951, now living abroad, I am so so grateful to the Collingwood media team this year....all those Match Day Passes, Roaming Bolts....lots of wonderful content has made this season so memorable, and now this GF Match Day Pass.....superb, and so moving. Congratulations to everyone involved! As Tom Mitchell says. Luv Ya Mate(s). Now for Back to Back!
Ok I'm never going to live this down as a Freo fan, but I'm seriously tearing up watching Craig and the players post game. What memories they have, captured for the future generations to be inspired by. Absolute love and respect is what drives this team. It's a good job I'm loyal, otherwise Freo would lose a supporter. Pies give me the happy vibes and make me feel like i'm floating on a love cloud. Hahaha I know right, but this was excellently put together, and it's cheered me up, as I'm in the throws of post season depression. Roll on 2024. #AFL IS the best game in the world. Thanks to those who produced this, it's pretty special. Supporters will have it on a loop for weeks haha, again, well done. 💜⚓
Nothing will take the pain away from those grand final losses, especially 2018. But this 2 year journey with Fly and the fairy tale finish of a premiership win is what life is all about. I watch this and I feel like anything is possible. I was lucky enough to see the game live. It was like an outer body experience when the siren went. In complete disbelief as pessimistic pies supporter. Thank you so much Fly and co
As a pies fan, I hope the Roos get to turn their seasons around. Don't give a crap how many extra picks everyone is sooking about.....something had to be done to help.
Lions supporter 🦁🏆 That was one of the best Grand Finals of ALL time!!!! Congrats COLLINGWOOD best team ALL year 🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤🤍🖤 Lions will get the job DONE next year🦁🏆🏆🏆🏆
I was born in 1953. I’ve been to the G now 14 times to watch us in Grand. Finals for 3 wins 2 draws and 9 losses. This years flag has filled me with so much happiness and pride in our great club that all the losses don’t matter anymore. I hope I live long enough now to see at least one more. Go pies forever
Which one stung more: 2002 or 2018? I don't think I'll ever recover from seeing Bucks take off his Norm Smith in disgust. Probably close to the greatest all-round game anyone every played in black and white.
I've seen us lose 11 grand finals, draw two and win 3 now. So much pain for Collingwood supporters but this victory in a close GF washes away much of that grief and heartache.
Unprecedented access for an epic game to cap an epic season. The pre game build up is spine tingling. Fascinating to get a sense of the players' personalities. Kudos to the media department and the club, including the football department, to be such an open book and embrace it all. If the past couple years was a Hollywood movie you'd say no way....
The content this incredible club is showing is awesome. They truly are living up to the mantra of bringing the fans along for the ride. Sensational job team. What an incredible day, what an incredible team, what an incredible CLUB. GO PIES. PREMIERS 2023.
This is some Christopher Nolan-type eliteness 🔥 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Give the media team an award . Outstanding 🔥🔥🔥 Thank you for this and all the content this year. It has been phenomenal 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
An incredible piece of storytelling! Had seen the black painted nails during the national anthem and now I know why! Had tears on the cheeks as a kid at the 'G in '79, and fear with 5:30 to go when Cameron goaled, but after one of the best days of my life, now they're just tears of joy re-watching this slice of history. How good is this team/club collectively?! GO PIES
2018 GF and 2019 PF affected me in a way I didn't think was possible......I walked out of the G in 19.....just balling my eyes out. 2022 was tough, but it wasn't as difficult to handle, as I prepared much better, knowing we were away from home. Like you said when Cameron goaled I was saying "no not again.....please not again" I don't know if I could have continued following footy if we lost, I honestly don't (don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have blamed the pies, but it just would have been too painful) but when that siren went.......it was just pure elation and relief........finally we won instead of falling at the last hurdle. This Premiership has washed all that pain away.
as a Collingwood fan, its hard not to watch this and not get emotional at all the little gems you keep uncovering on rewatches. I just welled up hearing Leggy thank Fly for the opportunity.
Thanks for putting this together. I was just tonight thinking, I’ll never get that feeling again of the moment the siren went, and straight away this popped up! It really put me back there. Also so glad to see Fly tell them about Maggie. And saying she was a boy! 😂 This was brilliant.
The players all in different rooms, doing different things before the game. Come game time, they are one. Love this club, love this sport, love my magpie army.. GO PIES ⚫️⚪️❤
Brilliant! Only just got out of hospital the day before the GF after a sudden illness, so even though I wasn't at the game I was so glad I got to watch it with my family. Go Pies!
It was very emotional when they won the grand final i go for Collingwood and my dad but sadly he died in 2021 september 1st he never got to see this grand final❤ i love Collingwood my favourite play is de goey i love ya ❤ Collingwood
Well deserved win Pies, I made you my honourary back up team this year. My team is the team that trains em up, to go to other clubs and get Brownlows and in GF's. Good ol Freo. Sigh, it's a hard road. But it's been a joy watching Collingwood play these last couple of years. My team should have been in top 6 this year, really disappointed. We have some great talent. Players keep leaving. Can't build a strong team when that continually happens. Seeing this band of brothers syncronicity, and awareness of each other, has given me team goals for Freo. Just wish we could get some loyal, skilled players who actually stay at Freo for 5-7 years. Give us half a chance of a cup. You've really brought the excitement this year, and some serious skills. You hold your nerve. Never give up. Congrats🖤♡ and hope you're still riding that winning wave high.💜⚓ PS If any of you lads at Collingwood want a challenge, please feel free to join Freo, and help us get our first cup. It's a challenge, at the very least.
Well said, it's good to be able to appreciate teams other than your own. Took me a long time to learn it. It's a cycle, your time will come and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have this year.
Thanks for making this public. Very emotional stuff. Won't forget this game or the team and how mentality strong they were. The belief they have in each other. MADE IT LEGENDARY!!!
Shoutout to all the people behind the scenes helping the club and players - property & clothing stewards, catering, massage and physio, strappinh… 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you for putting together this amazing video. Cried the whole time. Brought back wonderful memories. Now I’m watching the replay on Fox Footy - can’t get enough of this happiness. Thank you Collingwood FC
I’m a doggies supporter I’ve got a mate who is a pies supporter n he suggested I needed to watch this to see how other people approach a grand final n premiership success but to also teach me a lesson about life n how to approach things more positively n with the right attitude n mentality
3:55 There's Nick watching Cyril Rioli highlights to get pumped up, love it there's so much amazing stuff in here, never thought we'd actually get the audio of Fly telling them he had a baby, this is the kind of stuff that other clubs just don't get access to.
Cant wait for the full season documentary, Fly said there were cameras on everything the whole year - im expecting a netflix style thing like 2 hours lets go
The greatest thing I have ever seen. I would happily pay $100 to watch the 4 hour cut of this, Pies! The creative/editing decision to leave the first 10 mins or so as just quiet montage was brilliant!
YES I WILL GET THE BLU-RAY VERSION OF THE 2023 TOYOTA AFL GRAND FINAL FOR CHRISTMAS SO BADLY THIS YEAR BECAUSE AFL TEAM ARE THE 2023 AFL PREMIERS!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Collingwood football club for sharing your journey with me. I felt I was with you all the way. Thanks again Collingwood let's do it again next year
I don't think I can ever watch this with out crying. The emotions of being there that day come up every time even when you know you're going to win it. Sidey kicks that goal and I turned to the only pies supporter with me in standing room, and we both screamed we are going to win it. I'm so glad I can relive this when ever I want now.
I'm only just seeing this for the first time... I upgraded my membership to legend status in round 2 and thankfully got to go to my first grand final, and I'm 1 from 1. Don't wanna be greedy, but back to back would be amazing, but I'm just happy to see the boys get some just derserves. Well done, Craig, and commiserations to Johnny Noble, Taylor Adams, Dan McStay, Ash Johnson, and any other players that miised playing in the game. Also, special mention to Bucks, who missed out on winning a flag - there is no clubman more deserving. I, for one, love you, Bucks! You're a champion. Well done, boys! Woohoo!
AS A PIES SUPPORTER FOR 54 YEARS THIS YEAR WAS THE GREATEST TO ALL THE BOYS THANKYOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART GOOD LUCK FOR 2024 YOU ARE THE BEST TEAM EVER
