the first guy that was installing the faux bricks. He grooved the thin set/mortar to press in the faux brick to create suction and then the mortar dries holding the suction in place. He keeps rubbing the tiles back and forth getting rid of the grooves. When you get rid of the grooves, then you have gotten rid of the air pockets that are creating the suction for the back of the tile. why would he do that. He grooved it and then press the grooves out.
the grooves arent for suction they are to allow air to escape so you dont have sections that aren't adhered correctly. same principle that applies to tile glue.
@@danielrogers6926 let me ask a question then. what is the squares on the bottom of a ceramic tile for. Would you look at each one of the squares as a suction cup?
