Converting #shippingcontainers into homes is full of amazing design possibilities and is remarkably sustainable. The reuse aspect means less use of lumber--ideal for our climate change reality. That's precisely what appealed to Relevant Buildings, a container house manufacturer in Oregon City, OR.
Owner Carl Coffman shares tours of their innovative small and tiny container home models, all building code compliant. Each is made with one or more high-cube shipping containers, sometimes stacked, like for an affordable housing condo project.

@@adriennegaller2522 Hi and Hello. I gather people for a good cause: I wanna provide people with Links leading to bad or toxic people. Mobber, Racists, Sexists, Bullies, more. I got the Links and i need help with reporting them. RU-vid is in a bad state and i think you heard of that. Many complain about it, its strike-system and its CEO: Susan. But... I mean... complaining about the State of the world is nice and dandy, but... how about acting? Doing something? So i made a Wiki where i store Links for all to use. Yeah, unorthodox, i know, but whatever. Its my Try to help. You can at least pre-emptive 'block user' regarding the Racists and all those, but you can also do one thing more and report them. You surely know what a mess youtube is, so? What do you think about all this? I mean, its a good cause, improving the internet and the world, and it costs no money, just time. Nice or not? I'm sure this comment didnt made it all clear, but point is, i wanna act and help others to act, not just complain. It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book ru-vid.comUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.

Love the "bump out" on these container homes. Really does give you lots of room. But I especially like the large doors with all the glass. Really beautiful. You almost forget they are container homes. These designers & renovators are true artists. Knowing just where to place kitchens & bath & bedrooms that work is a very difficult thing to do. The flow of traffic has got to work. Great ideas & really nice work. (I want one) My hats off to all of y'all. Very impressive. Blessings.

I send the report to 'User', which i assume is the youtuber that owns the comment-section where the Insulting happened. But I'm not sure. Did you get some sort of notification or something about this or do you not recognize what I'm talking about here? Hope you answer soon.

I was lucky enough to tour Relevant Building's homes in Oct 2020. AMAZING quality, finish, and design. I've wanted a container home years and as soon as I can, I want to order one of theirs. Love them!!! They offer tours regularly so if you ever have the opportunity to check them out in person, I highly recommend it.

Like the bump outs alot. Haven't seen that before. Your video's are well made and you have a wonderful variety of models to offer. I'm not in a position to buy the finished house, but would come to you for a container with bump outs and window/door openings. The cutting and welding is not something I'd want to attempt, plus you would know how to reinforce it.

Love that you can put theses anywhere! A Shipping Container Luxury Condos site 4-5 stories and about 1 city block long, just built and sold in Nashville Tn. I heard the owner paid around 1.5 million for property, shipping containers, construction and turn key of 25 units and just sold them all for 68 Million! Absolutely Beautiful! Right nest to the Civic Center down town. I think I have pictures of the shipping containers just before they were finished erecting the last few containers. I can’t wait to see one.

WOW, JUST WOW! This guy could become the Toll Brothers or KB homes of the Container industry. One more feature is they are "almost" fire proof!! If this guy can work with state n federal government he could really help with affordable and homeless housing. If the 75k model was stripped down to basics i bet he could provide them to municipality for under 50k each.. If this company gets any traction, watch out. They are VERY impressive. I've been following Container homes for years and I actually had to give up on a parcel I wanted because I didn't know who could do the job. Here they are. Wish I'd known.

LOVE THIS!! Not only reusing an existing object as housing, but working towards the goal of more affordable housing. The innovation is so cool, and I love the design choices. I think shipping container villages for homeless people could also be a good way for cities and communities to work to help people in need get a new start in life. No doubt this particular container home builder will do very well financially in the future.

I like that your working to make housing. Now incorporate vegitation that promotes desire to go outside at home. Produces some food. Sound and semi privacy, but also encourages good neighbors. Caring environment.

I live in the Northeast US where many towns require residential homes to be minimum 1000 sf. I saw a container design I want: a horse shoe configuration - the long sides would be 40ft extra-height containers the shared side a 20ft extra height container- an atrium would span the 40 ft containers - it seems this Builder is more than able to construct this home design.

Hands down one of the best container homes I've seen on Utube. The detail and craftsmanship that goes into the building of these homes could be the future. I think most humans do not need the typical 3000 square foot homes. Less is more to me. Use only what you need. Thank you for the hard work you guys are doing. 👌👏🏆

Great video full of detailed information, containers are greatly underused as homes and we should use more of them, why not a container park full of homes it has many options, rental, buy, part ownership (good for the first time buyers as they can buy say a 50% share and when they move on sell it on or back to the owner). I worked in logistics for 40 years shipping containers round the world and they have more use than shipping, keep thinking outside the envelope and by using some off the shelf furniture from places like IKEA it keeps costs down...

I'm guessing that they don't deliver out of state... These units are so lovely, and this is exactly what we are looking for:-) We purchased a piece of land in central Wisconsin, in hopes to build a tiny home, but code requires a home to be a minimum of 960 sq. feet. We received some ballpark #'s for building, and it's pretty steep. Oh well... sighhh!

There is a house in Dallas TX made of several containers. It’s 3 layers high but the middle layer goes in the opposite direction as the upper and lower levels. It is very nice.

I've been linked to this company so many times when I do house searching, I've been looking to move to Oregon very soon but every cool thing I see about shipping container homes is always "coming soon, coming next year, in the process of" I know it takes a lot of work yeah but, I'm ready to just move into one of these prefabs right NOW. I like their idea to do condos though.

They are nice and really made to look similar to a normal home with the bump-outs and all. But its always the price thats the killer. The only homes I've seen that have been competitive price-wise is the barn frame built homes.
