Dude: that was so helpful. They (Innovativ) really price gouge on basic connectors and clamps. We all know we’re getting robbed but we put up with it because we use pro gear that’s expensive. But you are absolutely right, the drum hardware is just as strong (if not stronger) so why allow them to charge 5 to 6 times more than what it’s worth? Thank you again for this video. My cart is coming this week and I refused to over pay for the extras even though I needed them. Now I have the alternative.

Could save a lot more money by buying a backstage cart, maken, camera jimmies, anything but an innovative cart, but I like that these hacks save enough to almost go for an innovative.
This is amazing. There cost of their accessories has been a barrier, but this makes the decision much easier knowing that alternatives are out there. 👍

C Stand Mount you made with drum L Hooks, Mount it to the Cstand directly, and hook it in the holes of the cross support beam. Let me know if it goes well. If so I would get the short L Bar and be able to hook 6 C Stands on front or back of cart.
Some great hacks here man! I’m all about that ballin on budget life. Coming from the music world too (bass, drums, keys) it’s great to see the worlds colliding. There are so many little clamps and accessories for music equipment that work great with camera gear!
I have a 37 EVO Scout and while I got the 5/8" Baby Pin system (freebie with promo), I've added an additional mount using two double magic clamps that clamp onto the top and bottom shelf to hold a C-stand column.. it's definitely beefy but is built really great. Alternatively can mount a monopod onto the double magic clamps which can double as a camera mount. Great video though and thanks! The c-stand holders is genius.
I did so well at film school with g&e because the grip stands were like drum equipment. Haha I use Gibraltar gear as well. Innovative is so expensive because they cater to the film union 600 demographic that make crazy money on union shoots.
Great tips! I'd love to find an alternative to the crazy $$$ Innovativ carts. Currently using a Rock-n-Roller F12 that works well, but not as compact (for travel/location) and not as sturdy.
Hi Kevin, I was going to give the multiclamps a try but I noticed that the diameter of the tubes on the cart is 1.75” whereas the clamps are supposed to be for 1.5” tubes. I’m assuming it’s tight but you managed to still tighten the clamp ? Thanks
any chance any of those clamps will fit on a rocknroller cart since i'm too poor and too cheap (i blame my parents for being filipino 😂) to pay for an innovativ cart?
This is great, was hoping that you can help find some of the parts for the Steadicam build that they have.... it's like $300+ for a couple clamps and a tube
