Huge chatty American Girl eBay Mail Haul with tons of vintage Pleasant Company dolls, outfits, and accessories! Clothing Steamer Link: amzn.to/3Gs1n4H First Doll of 2023 Video: • My Doll Collection Goa...
Thank you for inspiring me to start my Kirsten collection! When I was 9 years old I received my off-brand Kirsten doll--my forever Kirsten--and my Grandma handmade her school and birthday outfits for me. I remember spending hours looking through the catalogs and dreaming about what I would get if money were no object for my family. My grandma had planned on making all of Kirsten's outfits, but died unexpectedly before she could. I always felt kind of self-conscious about the thought of buying doll accessories as an adult, but now I know there's a whole community of adult doll people. I really resonate with the idea of giving your childhood self what they never had... and it really does bring me joy!
I will say the constant referencing of the catalog should be elaborated on and have its own video… Would love to watch a flip through with your commentary. Lowkey old catalog videos are some of my favorite and super informative!
Ahhhh pleasant company AG stuff gives me so much nostalgia. So happy I found this channel! I hate how much AG has sidelined the historical girlies and retired most of their collections that brought them to life.
No apologies for being in your happy place surrounded by dolls and their accessories! ❤ One of my happiest places too! Did a thrift haul last week and got a ton of AG and OG clothes and got so much pink 😳🥳 lol totally dressed my girls for Valentine’s Day!!
So happy to have found a down to earth doll collector!! I myself own a late pleasant company Felicity, and love everything about that era. Your collection is so impressive, I could only imagine😍
I’m happy to have found someone that thinks I’m down to earth! I absolutely love Felicity’s collection. It really needs to be seen in person. Thanks a million - I’m doing a collection tour verrrry soon!
So glad to be here! There's so much Mattel AG coverage with all the tons of new dolls they have but not that many at all dedicated mostly to PC to early AG. I got my Kirsten in 1994 and my Felicity in 1997. I have a few of my own personal items from back then and since, I have collected the rest of the historical PC besides Josefina and am slowly working on getting their PC clothes. I just got Kirsten's full winter clothes for a steal ($55!!) Is it just me or was anyone else bummed they didn't make the shoes on the cover of the book? Sometimes I want to give in and get the AG clothes, but the quality of the PC is noticeable. Plus, like you, I want to have the clothes I saw how they were in the catalogues! I spent hours and hours pouring over those catalogues, some of my fondest memories was escaping into them. I first read the books when I was in 1st grade in 1991 and I remember asking the librarian if I could tear out the catalogue insert LOL. She said yes, bless her. My mom saved for so long to get me my Kirsten. I was a Little House on the Prairie girl and Kirsten was the one who looked like me, so she was who I wanted. I remember loving Samantha's collection SO much (and my sister's name is Samantha so everyone assumed I would love her the most), but I had scruples, so I thought, and didn't want to get a Samantha based solely on her collection, but now I can admit that hers is probably my favorite 😊 And I went on to get a history degree. AG was one of the catalysts for my love of history.
my ocd isn't triggered by unclean hands but my sensory issues from my autism does get triggered from too much stuff being on my hands and the feeling of clean hands is (chef's kiss)
i love how knowledgeable u are!..im more of an american girl collector but....why am i starting to get convinced .....to get pleaant company too....they are so vintage and timeless
Would you ever consider a buying guide? Tips for getting a collection started and best places to shop? Also, maybe I'm just a nosy nellie but I like knowing what people are spending on different items and it's helpful to put things into perspective. Perceived value v. actual value with sentimental collecting is interesting.
I actually started one last year but it’s very very time consuming. I will finish it one day. Prices can change really often, so I always recommend looking at recently completed auctions on eBay. But I definitely would love to finish the collector’s guide I started since it’s more in depth than the ones that are out there already.
Ah what an amazinggg collection 🎉 ❤ so cool to see all these items. I love to see everyone’s collections and wha they focus on. There’s nothing like the vintage items. The quality is always shocking! I think anything vintage American girl is worth every penny! Wish had my childhood things
Oh wow, I just started my PC American Girl collection the last 4 months, because of the historical doll books I want to read to my 3 granddaughters (eventually, as they are only 6yrs old, and those stories need a more “mature” reader). But I’m having fun learning a few things (and discovered I have a 1st edition Josefina)! I’m glad I stumbled onto your site tonight.
@@idreamofjonnySUCH a good video! Your humor is SPOT on, your quick wit is comedy gold and your commentary on your collection is just so fascinating🤗 never a dull moment!!
I love watching your videos. Also totally love the feeling of freshly washed hands. I have to wash my hands constantly too. I was unpacking a mercari find - the ag pleasant company bunk bed while I watched your video. And totally agree about the superbowl 😂
Oh wow this is a nice haul! Related to needing to wash your hands- I don't know if it's me loving the feeling of freshly washed hands so much as it is a weird sensory thing for me. If I've been like out with my horse or petting someone else's dog or handling anything dirty, it's like I can feel the dirt on my hands?? Even if they look fine or if I've already washed them once. I have to wash my hands several times to get the feeling to go away and I have no idea what that is.
OMG that is exactly it! The second I feel like there's dirt or like a "film" on my hands, I can't stand the feeling and have to wash them immediately or I can't focus. I always wash my hands after petting my own dog 😳
Yep. I've got sensory issues and I can feel dirt on my hands every time I go to a thrift store or flea market or handle second hand stuff. I wash my hands endlessly. Today I'm sorting Lego, and yeah, washing constantly. I hate that filmy feeling of dirt on your hands!
The feeling you were describing with getting Molly's harmonica is the same feeling when I got a complete original Ghoulia doll from Monster High. She took me forever to find at a decent price and to this day is the most prized piece in my Monster High doll collection
I love that you are so disciplined in your collection. I am working on downsizing my collection and trying to decide what my doll niche truly is. For quite some time I was buying them just because they were cute or whatnot. Now I am really trying to only buy dolls/items that really mean something or give me that “spark of joy” lol
Hi! So glad to have found your channel! I have been collecting American Girl since the 90’s as an adult. Congrats on the harmonica! By chance do you know the difference between Molly’s the one you have and Kit’s? Looking forward to watching your other videos!
I spent way too long trying to figure out what that little "beer stein looking thing" was when I found it with my older items. I much prefer the clear hair bands!
Hi Johnny I Got 3 packs of sealed grin pins a total of 30 Pins 10 in each bag. From pleasant company 1994 from the American Girl of today line. I did a video this morning on them. I'm trying to decide if I should open the packs of Grin pins or not. I might get more Grin pins online to collect.
Hey @idreamofjohnny - please share your Mercari if you sell stuff you don't want! I promise if you toss those clothes in the wash, I'll buy most of them!!
Even when I can’t go shopping for doll things, I love hauls and all my dolls videos. In a week or 2 I will have 15 dolls. I only have room for a certain amount of dolls. Three of the Our Generation beds has to go, if I want more. Besides, I have a lot of things to do to my condo. The dolls and beds are now everywhere, until my bedroom is fixed. Then, they go into my bedroom to hang out with me. Someday, if I have money coming in, I will buy more dolls. I do collect AG doll clothes. Besides the meet outfits, the clothes that are are available are good quality. I’m not crazy about the new mix and match collection. Maybe, I will save my money. I remember catching frogs and lizards when I was young. Also, went fishing with my sister and cousin. Nana hated the bate in the freezer and the frogs I caught. The summers were great. I used to play with my Barbie dolls with my friends.
Not a falling asleep channel for me- you are a "have on while restringing dolls" channel lol. And yeah, two weeks after my last comment, I'm still restringing!
