Hi Sheri! your skin looks so smooth and bright!! I also exfoliate almost every day, have noticed a huge difference too! Since our skin does not shed like when we were young, it needs help, young skin sheds every day. I am 54 and I really think exfoliation has made more of a difference than anything. BTW, FYI, Derma E has a similar product to the Self Esteem, it is called overnight peel. With Glycolic, Beta Vitamin C and even enzymes. I have never used the Self Esteem, so I can not say if it is just as good or a dupe, but it is a lower price point and I have been using it and just love it! I have been watching your videos for years and always enjoy what you share! God Bless🩷

Hi beautiful! Oh wow, I'll have to check that one out. I tried a Vit C peel or something like that from Derma E (in a yellow bottle) and my skin got super itchy and irritated 😭. I'll definitely check their overnight peel out. Thanks so much for letting me know about that!💗

Hi there, it really depends on my skin each day. But I only use 1 in a routine and only exfoliate 1 time a day. So if I use Demelect on say a Monday morning, I don't use an exfoliator at night. But my skincare routines are very simple...cleanse, exfoliate, treatment serum (like a Vit C) and/or a hydrating serum, then moisturizer and/or spf. Super simple. 💗

I exfoliate everyday but very gently. I have fallen in love with the Tony Moly rice enzyme cleanser. Similar to Dermalogica microfoliant but way way cheaper and I like i5 much better.

I've started exfoliating everyday because I was getting hormonal chin acne due to ingrown hairs. I am 55 years old and I'm using a teenage product! I use the Clearasil acne scrub all over my chin and upper lip and then I spread a little onto my cheeks and forehead and I'm using Paula's Choice BHA body cream on that area on my face as well daily to keep it under control. My skin looks better than it has in years which I've spent the last two years dealing with this hormonal acne stuff on my chin so this is definitely a thing.( by the way I should add that the BHA liquid for the face that you mentioned in this video, I used for years but it would not resolve what was happening on my chin and upper lip. I needed the actual BHA body cream to make it work because it had become an issue of folliculitis at this point!) As we get older the skin not shedding is an issue then the backup of oils and sebaceous glands with hormones is a problem. I have a sebaceous hyperplasia on my nose because I was using Perricone's growth factor for awhile and THAT mixed with oil creates those in some people. Beware because no amount of acids or Retin-A will remove it. You have to go to a dermatologist and pay. I've had it for 2 years now and I am BEYOND PISSED.

Hi there! I've used the Paula's Choice BHA for probably a bit over 20 years. BUT when I had hormonal chin and neck acne, it didn't help for that. I finally took a supplement and it completely got rid of it. Drs wanted to put me on Accutane....no thanks! Oh yikes I've heard that sebaceous hyperplasia was a pain in the hiney to treat. Do they just laser them off or something at the Dermatologist?

@@GracefulBeautyWithSheri I assume so I've heard a few dermatologist on RU-vid talk about them and one of them does cosmetic procedures as well and she says there's absolutely no way to get rid of them without them using a certain tool and they kind of stick a needle in there and zap it at the core or something to that effect but man let me tell you I'm so pissed about it I had Perfect Skin outside of that issue. Even the chin issue resolved completely but I had to use the Paula's BHA for the body because it was becoming an issue like folliculitis and it cleared it up within 2 days!

Funny story HOW I heard about her is a couple years ago (or maybe 3 yrs ago) she or perhaps someone who was authorized to comment from her account was leaving multiple comments on my videos telling people NOT to watch me because I didnt know what I was talking about and said to watch her channel instead because she knew more than me. LOL I mean perhaps she is smarter LOL but who does THAT!!! 🤣I guess she didn't realize I would see her comments. Perhaps her channel was new or something and she didn't know how the comment section worked. LOL But I've also seen her leave comments like this on other RU-vidr's channels. But she is replying to the subscriber's comment, like not leaving an initial comment if that makes sense. So I think she thinks the owner of the channel won't see her comments by her replying to the subscriber??? Anyone who feels the need to go on someone else's channel and be a butthole makes me not trust them or their products. It's weird. I mean there are proper ways to advertise one's brand or channel. Her way (or whomever comments with her channel name...perhaps it's not her personally, i dunno), was just gross. 🤮

So funny you posted this video because over the last few weeks i have been doing different exfolliating things almost daily and noticing how much better my skin looks. I use the Dermelect sleep serum and LOVE it, thanks to you! i use that 2 a week and then I use asugar scrub on a different day for a light exfolliation from Farm Fresh called One Fine Day. Then I use a dermaplane blade on the other days and that has been super helpful. I think I am going to try the Dermalogical product you are suggesting, do they ever have sales? Thanks so much for your content it is so helpful and I find your suggestions are always on par with what is best for my skin!

Hi there, I'm not a huge fan of the TO peel ( I believe it's there AHA/BHA) I find it to be too harsh on my skin and even burns a bit. So if something burns, I avoid it since it can trigger inflammation and then melasma and hyperpigmentation.

When I worked, I used a fine granular face scrub every morning. After cleansing, I would put on my serums and moisturizer, then go back to bed and meditate for about 15 minutes to let everything absorb nicely. I attribute the condition of my almost 66 yo skin to daily exfoliation. These days I do it about 3 days a week. I really should stop being so lazy and up it to 7 days again! I think I will!

@@Queenmarie88 - So hard to find a reasonably priced one these days. My daily scrub is no longer made and I haven’t found one I like lately. I avoid micro beads since they are environmentally unfriendly and the ones made with ground up shells are too chunky and abrasive. These days I use a Buff Puff with various hydrating cleansers. I am always switching up products (Neutrogena Hydro Boost is nice). In the morning I apply a small pump onto a wet Buff Puff and gently move in circles around the surface of my faces neck and chest. Works like a charm. Then I follow up with an Essence, serums, moisturizers, etc. Hope that helps!

I think you might really like it. I also like the Neutrogena Hydro Boost cleanser like you do ~~ and I like often mix that with a little of the Philosophy scrub.

I'm curious to see if my skin can handle that. SkinBetter, a very expensive skincare line has formulated a retinoid combined with both lactic and glycolic and it seems like this is a direction that many are taking. I have really sticky sebum, if I don't exfoliate every day it starts to clog up really fast. All over my face, like chicken skin, tons of whiteheads texture. So I exfoliate every day with dermalogica rice powder, also I use 7% glycolic acid toner 2x a day without any irritation. I use benzoyl peroxide too if I still have bumps.

Hi there! At night only and I use it either before or after my retinal. Cleanse, sleep glycolic, retinal, moisturizer....super easy routine. I don't layer a ton of products. 🤗

Ur skin looks beautiful! I'm starting out my Retinal journey again I have never been able to use any kind but I have been using the Medick8 the low dose one for a month 1 time a week now getting ready to bump up to 2 days a week this week but I use the Dr DG pads 1 time a week Maybe every other week the dermatologic exfoliant wash I go back and forth between the org and the oat one a few days a week in the a.m and the PC BHA liquid like 1 time a week at night . I really want to try the new lactic one but I put it on my hand in Sephora during the sale and it felt like it burned my hand so I was scared to get it . I am super careful about my skin sense I'm sensitive and I have damaged the barrier so many times before getting excited about new exfoliating products and trying to use trent 😂 but I don't think I could ever use something exfoliating every night I'm lucky to get 2 nights in a week and then the powder washes in the morning. I'm jelly of those people that don't have sensitive skin.

The PC mandelic/lactic is quite gentle. I find it to be even more gentle than the DDG pads. So weird you can use those pads because in the past they always made my face a little red. I may give those a try again and see. 💗

I use an aha/bha serum every morning before my vitamin c and my tretinoin every night...2 nights a week i use the medik8 glycolic and tretinoin together...

I haven't used a GF in a couple months since I'm out of the country and I ran out. But great question, when I do use one, I always apply it immediately after I clean my face and I don't use an acid with it. So since I only exfoliate once a day, I would just use the GF in the a.m. if I exfoliate at night or vice versa. I mean, you prob could use an acid in the same routine but I just don't since GF are kinda unstable and I don't want an acid messing it up. But I don't know scientifically if it even makes a difference. I just keep my routine super duper simple. I notice the products I use work better since they aren't layered down with a ton of stuff.

Maybe just try it with whatever quality exfoliator is sold at your drugstore/pharmacy. You wouldn't need to use these exact products/brands. I believe Medik8 is sold there though.

I lightly “exfoliate” daily. Done it forever. I like the cardinal sin of a squeaky clean face😂. I don’t see how you can’t when using retin a, sunscreen etc❤

Not technically an exfoliator. The term acid doesn't mean exfoliator. i.e. hyaluronic acid is not an exfoliator even though "acid" sounds like it. But Vit A products don't break the bonds that hold the dead skin cells together. So technically they arent exfoliators. BUT they do help skin cells to turn over. Sorta similar but not the same thing. 💜

Hey Sheri, I've been dying to ask you about the Medikat8 Crystal Retinal. I've been using it for @ 5 months and really like it. I also bought their OXY-R peptides and Super C Ferulic and have been seeing great results. My question is how to compare the Crystal 20 to the Ordinary's new Retinal 0.2 % Emulsion. The Ordinary claims it's the strongest Retinal you can get without a prescription. If that's true it would be so much less expensive. At this point I've been alternating them every other night. What do you think about this?

I haven't tried TO new retinal yet. I've been out of the country since November. But they sent it to my shipping address in the USA already so I can test it when I get back next month. The Medik8 is also the highest strength without a prescription. So I'm definitely curious to see how TO new one compares. Retinal is very unstable so it is all about the delivery system it's in and if it's encapsulated etc to remain super potent. It's also quite expensive because of this technology. That's why very few companies have a high strength retinal. Even if 1 ingredient is super high, it still might not work the same if it doesn't have all the other components involved. Honestly I'm a bit skeptical because of the low low price and since formulators say it's not inexpensive for the technology. But they say it's encapsulated so we shall see. But I'm still excited to try it and we shall see. How awesome would that be if it ends up working the same if not better. If you try it, let me know what you think. 💜

Dear Crisnemitz - I was thinking of doing the same - getting the Ordinary Retinal and alternating with the Medik8. Thanks for asking about it - hope Sheri is able to try it out and give us her opinion.... the Medik8 really is a wonderful product! But I'd love to save a bit if the Ordinary is comparable... However, I was also skeptical due to the low price!

No just one time a day either a.m. or p.m. so whichever exfoliator I choose for the day out of all of these, I only use it once. But if that's the only exfoliator one owns, then it can be used daily for almost everyone. 💜

Thank you!!!! I used to use Renew as well and I started with Medik8 strength 6, then went to 10 and used 2 tubes of 10 before I jumped up to the 20. I probably could have easily just started with strength 10 but I wanted to be safe and work my way up to it. 💜

I used all the Peaches products including their Glow serum for about three months religiously and really didn’t see much of a difference in my texture or melasma. Probably great if you have ultra sensitive skin and nothing too crazy going on, but actual glycolic and lactic acids are a game changer if done right. Also, after some questionable comments the owner has made throughout her videos about other content creators, I no longer support her channel or buy her products.

Its going to tear your Microbiome to Piece's! 2x Wk is more than Enough'! She's a lucky 1' Our skin as kids doesn't exfoliate that much! & the Older we get the more Sensitive skin becomes! Be Warned & if you try this BUILD UP to it Pls/ 4-6 months the Skins microbiome to repair/ & that's if it does Repair! Ty
