Great video! I like the minimal talking and helping that other guy land his fish. I noticed you didn't tip your bucktail - is that how you normally fish it? Also, mind sharing what type of leader you use? Thanks!
@fishingtheeast4898
@fishingtheeast4898 8 лет назад
thank you ! ,I was tipping it at times with a white curly tail grub I was getting the same hits with it and with out it as well mainly all the hit were on the fall , I use it give lil more action almost win win or win loose if u think of it . I was using 60 lb floro carbon leader and Tactical Anglers clip or a (ta clip) I often some times use a black wire leader wich .

Hi, I have a question. How did you get to the inlet on the ibsp side? Did you drive all the way down the long road when you entered the park? Thanks
@fishingtheeast4898
@fishingtheeast4898 4 года назад
nik marshall Oh yes you can drive all the way down to the inlet as long as you have a 4 x 4 If you don’t you can walk it but you’re gonna have a nice long walk. Another way you can get down there is if you can hitch a ride with someone on the back of the truck lotta people or do that some people do it out of generosity for free or you can slip the driver about five or 10 bucks for the gas and you can hitch a ride up and or back

I just bought a 9’ prevail but i read some reviews after saying some bad stuff about it. Hows it holding up?
@fishingtheeast4898
@fishingtheeast4898 5 лет назад
I had my 9 ft for about over 6 years never had any issues at all with it. What issues we're u having with your prevail ?
@_Tang0_
@_Tang0_ 5 лет назад
Fishing The East So far it just twists out of line which is no big deal to me but i read reviews of it breaking easily.

Fishingnj82 The area you are fishing @ looks very similar to Oregon Inlet @ Outer Banks. Is there a current a ibsp? Oregon Inlet has a very strong current,
@fishingtheeast4898
@fishingtheeast4898 7 лет назад
revolutionpm. yeah has swift. mod current wich can get stong at high tide and out going as well . at the mouth of the inlet. there a strong rip line there with under water rocks n boulders. alot of sand bars wich break up water current as well i mainly use 1.5 to 2 oz buck tails there.

Was wondering about your VR. Trying to decide on spending the money on a VS or VR. Have a old Stradic FI that is starting to show its age. Caught some 15 + lbs on the lighthouse side, saw some chips in the guts after the trip. Was hoping to get a 1st hand opinion with a vr owner.

Just found your review of the reel. Didn't mean to waste your time. Great video, good luck with the rest of your season.

j bach the reel it's self more lighter reel u can one size reel u can change n switch out the spool n rotor on it as well other then other vs reels . and also u can change the reel from left to right vise versa . wich not many people think on that part n make a big issue going out looking for the right reel . the drag system i like u need to mess with it a bit to set it in i done it while fighting a fish other then hand setting it . sorry on ggetting back im busy with work

yeah I love that about the reel. switching sizes, to fit different rods. I am split between this 500$ reel and getting 2 different reels in different sizes. Looking at a Penn slammer 3 and another Shimano Stradic 4000. Have never caught a false albacore. Gonna be making trips as often as possible. That's why I was looking at a stradic 4000 for my 7' 6". But I am starting to value quality that lasts, and servicing my own reels.

That is One great place to fish . I was there about 40 years ago.there isn't a species of fish that you can't find.I live in long Branch now and I am trying to Target weakfish,so,what can you tell me about the spec's in the area. I would appreciate any feedback. thanks🎣
@fishingtheeast4898

great area to fish , during low tide it's much easier to land fish u can walk into water pull ur fish out , when I throw buck tail I tie my own I do good with 1 1/8 oz seem to work for me u can go to as far as 1 1/2 maybe 2 0z I've got fluke , blues banded rudder fish ,sea bass, and weakies , lil more farther towards the jettie if u walk towards the tip of it if u fish it during high tide. u can get some nice toug out of there on green crabs or Asian crabs or clams as well , , some nice blues n bass as well early morning or at night , I know a good boat rental in the area bobbies boats. I know alot of weakie hang around in the bay early mid spring months up towards may n Jun and around September n October they do good with them on blood worms , pink zooms , n shrimp as well, the surf if great forage as well more better during high tide , all depending what u want to target that day , more of the fluke I've caught were off the jettie there .on hi / lo gulp rig with 2 oz sinker just drift it n jig it .

@fishingtheeast4898

Found out the info from a Penn rep and thought I'd share. Maybe someone else was looking for same info as myself: Thank you for contacting Penn. The longest section for these rods will be; 10’ = 62” 11’ = 68” 12’ = 74” Sincerely, Service Experience Coordinator Pure Fishing CS

Is a penn battle II 6000 or 8000 too heavy for this kind of fishing? about 610g.
@fishingtheeast4898
@fishingtheeast4898 8 лет назад
I say I won't go no more over 5000 series and under 4000 series depending the size rod your using ID say from 9 ft to 10 ft be just perfect to use for both reels I use both the 5000 and 4000 reel from the fierce2 model if u watch my one video. I use the Penn fierce 2 4000 it handle verry nice with the fish

Monofilament,Fluorocarbon or braided line ?
@fishingtheeast4898
@fishingtheeast4898 7 лет назад
eric nunez. i like floro sinks more faster then mono wich mono floats. braid as well sinks as well n wich alows u to have more line. on ur spool then mono . i tie direct to my braid and floro using crazy ablerto knot. i dont like using barrel swivel especially when fishing at night or on rocks lets u have a longer leader .
