you will also see Sisters of Battle content from me, so don't be frightened if I start talking about purging cultists. Those two are the main factions I talk about as there are so few other YT's that focus on them
So glad to have found your channel! Love 40k, but hard to find love for the worshippers of the Star Children. Love your format and writing too. Looking forward to your future work. Faith in the blood of the true emperor, death to the yolk!
Looking to build my first 1k pts army with 10th ed out! Really happy GSC is getting some love, hopefully they keep this power when their codex comes out
Used pretty much all that this weekend scored 86 to 73 against a necron player where warrior squads of 20 that have 2 command phases to reanimate and a -1 to hit to watch them do nothing.
So I'm new to GSC, always been an army I wanted to play but never had a good chance to invest, and the new combat patrol being actually GOOD I took the plunge. Thanks so much for these videos, these are INCREDIBLY helpful for a new GSC player like myself! Can't wait to chuck some dynamite.
I don't know, people in 40K tend to create what's called Death Star units. I'm personally planning on creating a unit of 10 acolytes with a Primus so that they have four demo charges and a thicker Overwatch sponge. If people are going to want to bring Primarks and put them on the table, this is how you get rid of them.
I had the misfortune of fighting GSC for my first game of 10th on the Saturday after points came out. I was pretty excited about my Thousand Sons, I had watched a couple videos to help me out (it was only going to be my 4th game) with some combo's that could help me have a chance. Well, some poor rolls and a few turns later and we decided that GSC are pretty strong so far this edition. Enjoy those guys while you can =) I didn't.
I will have a play with them in a couple of days and see how I do against chaos knights and eldar. I am glad they are quite strong, they had been weak and neglected for too long
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber I literally joke about this with my brother, who I played. I told him to get those guys to a tourney quick before they get nerfed into the ground with the dreaded Xenos tax =P. Take my experience with a grain of salt though, I'm still really new, so there could be a good counter to them that I'm just way too inexperienced and bad at the game to use yet. It is nice to see xenos be good though, that's not a regular occurrence from what I've heard of the past.
@@erikrasmussen7953 I think their obvious counters are a fast army like dark eldar that can stop cult tokens coming back and also horde armies like Guard and Tyranids that have cheaper models than GSC and can absorb losses
I mentioned before the regimental attaches for guard are 40pts, but you need to take a 60pt platoon squad, but it gives you artillery commander which gives sustained + 1 to artillery for guard, and the same aura that clamvus gives. Also with the platoon squad you can take a lot of different options, like another heavy weapons squad which can be buffed by sentinels, at least the mortar squad. It doesn't say we can't give orders or use guard abilities, and we're about to use scout sentinel abilities. It just seems like a no brain for 100pts, you can buff artillery, and get a no reinforcements aura + the body guards that have some decent load outs !
I gonna say I am really loving the look of gsc and orks. List building was really annoying, cause of being forced to take X or Y amount for squads, but it seems to work out, but the problem is, is the wargear, you're always going to take the mathematically better options, so it limits choice. I suppose it's good for when you know your opponents army, you could swap out something with more attacks if they've got trash saves, over something with high ap and less attacks, vice versa. Today A lot of youtubers have been posting videos of games analysis and teir list with spread sheets, and they all say the same thing, they need more time to figure out the missions, cause they play completely different compared to 9th.
As long as you have the models (and don't play necrons etc that have inflexible choices) you could pick and choose your special weapons. For ranking armies, I do need more time so I am not going to try yet. I will see what happens this week
@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber the destroyed unit gets placed into Cult Ambush, not a new unit, so the demo charges cannot be used again. This may not be what GW intended as lore wise it's supposed to represent a new unit ambushing the enemy but RAW it's the same unit. Still amazingly strong though.
that's what I thought - check my video on the Patriarch, then check the comments. It is currently a debate in my community ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JHc7c0lIOPc.html&ab_channel=40kVtuber%3AChristianVonCarmian
I was going to do the exact same squad as your acolytes with primus and locus but with metamorphs. I suppose the acolytes are a much more efficient choice for all of those buffs. Thanks for pointing that out. I don't know what I was thinking.
might be a week or 2 for that video, quickly though: - holding the rear - grenade launchers and heavy stubbers/mining lasers; surprise attack - flamers and seismic cannons
its not looking good (theory only at this point) farsight is nothing special, Aun'shi only buffs himself and the kroot don't have the AP or number of attacks to be effective in melee. Of course tau were never intended for melee but this early in the edition, I encourage you to run and it see if you have fun (that being the most important part)
can I get a page number please? Of course I would really like an FAQ from GW to be sure but the '1 always fails' I could only find on page 21 and 22 referring to hit and save rolls specifically. Thx
Seems like they intended it to be an auto success considering I don't know any ways to negatively modify the roll, so there is no reason for them to write +3 instead of +2 if ones are supposed to fail.
