I want to do just that! Show everyone that you don’t need a scream list to win with VC. I think I’ll still have a scream or two just from characters but run 2 units of blood knights.

I will try them on s tournament sunday. Is escalation: 1500 the first game than 1750 and 2000. I will bring a Mortis and one banshee just in the last match. I want to try skeleton warriors instead of grave guards to add wolfes and ghouls. I hope buff and debuff will be enough to win melee

Nice! Best of luck! Skeletons will be punching up almost all the time. Take dark magic for ‘word of pain’ & ‘battle lust’ it will help a lot.

😄 things will get painted (for sure) but I’m more of a gamer then a hobbyist. Unless the tournament is paint battle ready there will be unpainted models as I want to experience how every unit works more then gets stuff painted.

Well played, congrats with the win! I had my doubts about the spirit hosts (over another banshee++), but this sure proved me wrong. I would love to see how you do with Empire of Man. As I am both a VC and Empire player, and as a proper challenge (since let's be honest, empire is not in the best place power wise atm). Would be interesting to see what you would bring.

Thanks! Yeah, I needed one more unit to able to shield my necromancers. Challenge accepted, empire it is. I’ll make a video showing the full empire army and a tournament breakdown after.

Are you really allowed to re-roll Invokation with the BSB? I thought it only allowed re-rolls for Panic, Rally and break tests.

Yes, VC BSB is different from the core rule book BSB.

Just keep winning with whatever army it takes. Did the talisman of protection on your general save anything?

The talisman of protection was on the mortis engine necromancer, my general was the other necromancer (on foot, dark magic). The mortis engine was shot at with magic missiles in all 3 games. The 5+ ward was helpful for sure.

He never failed a stupidity check because he has a reroll with the bsb. He was only ever targeted once with attacks because after I told my opponent his toughness and saves they didn’t target him. I feel the crown is really just a deterrent piece of gear more than taking it for true saves. I hope this answers your questions.

@@causebadguys9524 A small note, A Stupidity Test is not a leadership test. It is a separate 'Stupidity test' that uses the leadership characteristic. As distinct from Invocation of Nehek which is a leadership test and thus can use the BSB re-roll

Hey very nice army! You said in the video bsb makes you reroll leadership test, I think it’s not correct you can reroll panic, rally and brake test, not every leadership test sadly:(

Undead got different battle standard rules, as they don't panic, break, or rally: A Wight Lord that has been upgraded to be your Battle Standard Bearer replaces the “Hold Your Ground” rule given in the Warhammer: the Old World rulebook with the version given below: “Hold Your Ground”: Friendly units within the Battle Standard Bearer’s Command range may re-roll any failed Leadership test. In addition, friendly units within the Battle Standard Bearer’s Command range reduce the number of Wounds lost due to the Unstable special rule by D3.

Thanks! Vampire counts bsb changes via page 7 of the pdf GW provided for their army rules under “wight banner”. It is not the same as other bsb’s in old world.

I will be making more VC battle reports and doing tactical breakdowns of specific units and characters. Is there something specific you would want to see first? Or just another battle report?

@@causebadguys9524 What helps me is that you explain why you used specific units and why you moved them the way you did. Often battle reports from other people are missing these explanations. So explaining the battle plan and then how you adjusted it during the game is helping me a lot.

@@causebadguys9524 Oh and having the army explained and three games in only 40 min is also very nice and dense. I don't really have the time or patients to watch most of the 4+ hours long battle reports.

I've been using variants of double mortis lists as my go to, not found a better type of list.. you can go double mortis double corpse cart for the never crumbling army, or one with terrorghiests, or you can go with blood knights to give you a nice hammer.. Its sad because Vampires themselves just aren't great, limits on vampire powers being one of each per army and just not having enough customisable options they just struggle to get their points back. Necros, Banshees, Wights and Wight Kings are just fantastic, while Vampires and Wraiths are just underwhelming. I'd really love wraiths to be a unit option again, they would have some viability that way. For 6 screams? two mortis, two banshee, two Terror I'm assuming? The Vampire stuff is sadly disappointing, so much cool stuff is just not really effective.. Maybe the army will get moved from being legendary for the next edition of Old world what ever form or theme it takes.. I can hope as I adore my Vampires..

Yeah, I wish the actual vampires in the army were a little better than they are currently. They can be fun but not really competitive. Best 6 scream list I’ve found is 1 mortis, 3 banshee, 2 terror. Im hoping some legend armies move too standard but not holding my breath on GW. I’ve found no tournaments or communities that won’t allow legend armies so I’m not super worried about it. It will take 2 years for all of the arcane journals to come out so we will see around then what happens. Thanks for the comment!!!

@@causebadguys9524 you can't do 3 banshee. they are 1 per 1000pts its something I fell foul of as well sadly. Yeah I'm not in a rush, in fact I'd rather they took their time, I've got 3 armies from back in the day, my dark elf army is the biggest I've seen in real life, its vast and I've not even started considering how to rebase it yet.. I'm doing Vampires first which is no small job, then I'll move onto my greenskins which I don't need much for, some cavalry and big stuff, oh and more squigs you can never have enough squigs.. After that I'm thinking some good guys, in 30 years I've never had a Order army.. then my dark elves (its going to be so much sodding work), perhaps Cathey or Kislev if they get love which I think they will.. I got plenty of time.. and its far from my only hobby game.. Legion, Necromunda, KDM, Shadows of brimstone to name but a few.. Never enough time for all my games or hobby...

Each mat had tape on them for 40K table size but we played on the full mat, the event organizers asked us not to remove the tape so they could reuse them for later events. We did play on the recommended 72” x 48” board size.

Right! lol, the ruby ring has very specific tactics to utilize it well and none of my characters were going to run that strategy. I was thinking about it but went against it.

you have an almost identical list to me. I usually keep the foot lord between the 2 infantry and have them pretty close so 1 he has LOS for magic missiles and 2 can't be charged by anything with a large base size. Nice recap!
