Dude is a beast in a franchise too....I use him in the field when he's not pitching n I also pinch hit w him cuz he'll go right on the mound n I don't gotta switch a position player from that spot...im using him on the Padres 🤣☠💯👌🏽 5th sp/1st rp also got Aroldis Chapman to close 🤣
@@seijih9600 ... hit it out of the ballpark like Babe Ruth did and you won't need blazing speed! 😄😄 Let's hope this guy doesn't get injured or overworked.
@@bluealvey let's be a little bit more realistic. He's got a 3.88 career ERA so far and is a good hitter with a lot of power. Ruth had a 2.28 career ERA with 89 wins before moving to hitting only, and hit more and longer home runs, including one that flew 552 feet and rolled out to 590. Ruth's career OPS is 1.164, ohtani's so far is 0.857. He's a good hitter and a good pitcher, but Ruth was probably as good as anyone at both when he was playing either (he was definitely as good of a hitter as baseball has ever seen).
His fastball is as fast as anyone's. His splitter is the most unhittable pitch in the sport. He hits the ball as hard and as far as anyone. He has the most home runs. He has elite running speed and turns routine grounders into singles. He can steal bases. He can bunt against the shift. It's amazing enough that he can even DO all of these different things... but he doesn't just DO them... he does them as good as, or BETTER than ANYONE. He's like 5 different specialists in one person. Don't compare him to Babe Ruth... Ruth couldn't throw 102mph. Ruth couldn't run 30 ft/second and get infield hits on the regular, and then steal second and third. Comparing him to Ruth sells him short. This dude is a BASEBALL GOD and we are all lucky to witness what he can do.
Sorry dude. I agree with a lot of what you said but Ruth is the Zeus of baseball. If Shohei does this for a career over here I will gladly admit I was wrong and buy you a beer.
THEY DIDN'T HAVE RADAR GUNS WHEN RUTH PLAYED, THE BALLS WERE NOT JUICED WHEN RUTH PLAYED, THE BATS WERE A PIECE OF " LUMBER" WHEN RUTH PLAYED, THEY DIDN'T HAVE MODERN TECHNOLOGY WHEN RUTH PLAYED, SO YOU ARE RIGHT THERE IS NO COMPARISON!!!!
ive been a baseball fan for 45 years and i will say i have never seen anybody turn on a baseball like this guy. his batting motion begins the moment the ball leaves the hand of the pitcher likes it locked on from that moment. and the perfect of extension of his entire body and the moment of impact. turn and extension. no need to make a 3d computer model of how to perfectly hit a baseball....just do a green wire mesh outline of his body during his swing and call that the perfect model.
Because of Shohei Othani i watch baseball games. He is an incredible baseball player and a unique athlete. Thank you Shohei for making baseball só enjoyable tô watch! From Brazil!
One of the MANY things to love about Shohei is how he tries to have the most respect for American Baseball and its players while ripping them to absolute shreds 👌👌 GO HALOS!!!
I have to say this is due to how Japanese players are brought up. RESPECT for the game. Unlike in Korea where they have the craziest bat flips after homers. In the MLB a bat flip like they do in Korea is gonna cause your teammate getting plunked.
i first saw this and got back into watching MLB for the first time in over a DECADE. and the man, has only gone up and up. leading HR's by a fair bit now, still killing it most times he goes to the mound, a hitter AND starting pitcher for all stars, he's going into the derby...if this man win's mvp ill be quite pleased, and if he doesnt, ill be hella surprised, the only players that really are catching my eye atm as a recent rewatcher are ohtani, degrom, and maybe tatis jr (i like the padres team actually, theyre a fun team to watch.)
Please dont get any major injuries in your carrier and allow me to enjoy baseball more ohtani san 🙏 got to know baseball through animes now i watch the greatest anime character of all times irl and cant get enough of it
Not even Mike Trout can get me to buy ticket and walk into Angels stadium to watch the game. But when Shohei Ohtani lands here, I bought every ticket that I can possibly go with my schedule. I think it was totally worth it that your entire night was just sitting there watching this monster hits a home run after another, pitching today then hit another day. They're not kidding with his MLB nickname "Show Time" if you happen to have a chance to watch him, just pay for the ticket, the chances are he's gonna make you drop your jaw
My brother and I was talking about at the end of the season if Ohtani has 30 HR, 90+ RBIs, and has a ERA at 3 or high 2 he’ll win MVP and the CY Young at the same time 🤯
I CANNOT believe that this monster is on the same team as Mike Trout AND Anthony Rendon and The Angels STILL haven't been able to play for keeps like this goes to show you that even the best might not be enough
What the Angels need is a good pitching rotation. Literally the one thing they need to keep their playoff hopes alive. Perhaps they could try to acquire deGrom since apparently his own team doesn't seem to care enough to provide him with decent run support.
besides trout and ohtani, the team just isn't as good. Rendon has been injured a lot, their starting rotation is mediocre, and their bullpen is mediocre as well. With pujols' contract ending after this year they can finally spend more money on pitching hopefully
My main concern is whether he will stay injury free. Throwing 100 mile heaters + batting will take a toll on him. My critical analysis suggests he needs to become more of a finesse pitcher.
He’s still recovering from injury on his right elbow I believe so to play it safe the angles are just having him hit while he starts to Combe back to pitching
its cool that he can be so effective and contribute to the teams game on both offence and defense. i know other good hitters are also good outfielders or baseman but im pretty sure that pitching is the most important aspect of the defensive end of the game
This Guy Is Ichiro On Steriods For Me! Love Seeing Him In Dual Action Always Wondered Why More Players Arent Two Way! Same With Football These Athletes Can Do More Than One Thing Well!
I'm so glad Shotime's finally getting the respect he deserves. Like he was good his first few seasons, yeah, but he is just absolutely lighting it up now as everyone expected he would when he came from NPB
